Uptown Kitchen is a funky, urban restaurant that focuses on serving high quality, fresh, natural foods. Great selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Unique bar that features an ever changing selection of craft beers, martinis and an extensive wine list. Open for breakfast & lunch 7 days per week, dinner Wednesday through Saturday nights. Nightly dinner specials that feature fresh fish & seafood, hand cut steaks, rack of lamb, double cut pork chops and much more. Huge selection of house made desserts, specializing in layer cakes and cheesecakes. Reservations accepted for any meal, any day.

"I had reservations at 10:30 for fathers day. I showed up early around 10:05 to check in. There were two young hostess girls, not sure if they just didn't like the way I looked, but were rude right off the bat to me and responded very rude stating, " well even tho you have reservations, its going to be awhile. " After waiting for 15/20 minutes, another family of 4 came in, said they were also here for 10:30 reservation. So me and this other family of 4 had 10:30 reservations. I'm not kidding, they waited for maybe 2 minutes and got seated! We were checked in before them for about 20 minutes now!! After this, i was extremely irritated. I had to seek out a manager and our table had been ready for awhile now he said. NO Apologizes were said."

"Our family eats vegetarian and has gluten sensitivities and Uptown Kitchen has a great variety of foods that will work for us. This time one of our meals -3 Bean and Vegetable Saute- was an EXCELLENT option. We hope to see it on the menu again!"

"We had a party of 12 and were seated in the private dining room. Everyone loved the food selections and the food. Great service and owners checked on us several times. We will definitely be back (soon). We have already recommended to several friends. Thanks."

"I chose Uptown Kitchen because they are an Organic Restaurant and it is soo hard to find healthy food for special occasions. I couldn't have made a better voice for my wife's birthday and my redeployment celebration. Not only was the wait staff incredibly helpful and personable, but the managerial staff visited our table to ensure the evening was memorable. The food was amazing and you can't beat the large selection of wine and craft beer. Thanks for everything Uptown Kitchen!!!"

"Our group swelled to 21, and Uptown Kitchen accommodated the growth with ease. It did not feel crowded, and it seemed the entire staff pitched in to help. Once more, there was no pressure to vacate. It was the perfect relaxing scene to discuss the end an exciting academic conference."

"Thanks to Uptown for offering a nice selection of vegetarian and vegan options and for the consistent excellent service. The wait staff are accommodating, friendly but not invasive, knowledgeable (or very willing to find out if they don't know). I appreciate that many of the foods are homemade and not prepared far away and shipped in in packages. It would be great to have this restaurant nearer to downtown South Bend. The Mark (sister restaurant) is good, but Uptown is better :)"

"Everything was ok, but just ok, our server was quite friendly however she wasn't around much. Service was also quite slow, I would be more understanding if they were busy but when we ate there but they weren't. Our drinks were good but slow coming out. The food overall was good but not great. I would eat here again but to be honest I can do much better for the price."

"We were seated promptly on a very busy Sunday early afternoon, mainly because we had a reservation. Good thing we did. Place was packed, a good sign, I guess. But it took forever to get our order in and another half hour to get our food. Food was great, the maple-glazed pulled pork our favorite. Seating felt cramped, though, one table closely packed near the other. I suggest going here on a less busy time of the week, but no complaints about the food. Very tasty and well-presented."

"It was all superb! One small exception was the hostess standing in the middle of the room checking tables to see how far their meals had progressed. She could have been more discrete. I am sure she was trying to see what the wait time would be, but it was somewhat uncomfortable. It happened at least twice where she stood in the middle with a clipboard and took notes.
However....food and service was excellent!"
