"I like this restaurant. They offer many options. The food is good. I just wish the food had more ingredients. If the menu says pasta and shrimp with tomato sauce, then that is what you get just tomato sauce no additional seasons. I am sure there are many people, like my father, who like it this way. I would prefer to see more complex dishes with more ingredients. The atmosphere is great and the staff are good."

"Located on Main St. in oldtown Fairfax, Italia Fairfax offers a good family restaurant. Italian food is good. The portions looks minimal at first, but our family found it filling--not too small, but not too large, just right. Compared to the mega chainstores like the Cheesecake Factory where one portion is enough to feed one family, Italia Fairfax's portion is truly meant for one average sized individual. Service was good--we had to ask for our drinks multiple times, but they were receptive afterwards and were friendly. Nice casual smart ambiance for a family. I took my parents there for Mother's Day and they enjoyed it. There were other families who were celebrating Mother's Day too. They have good Italian music playing in the background."

"We had a group of five for a Mother's Day weekend dinner. The staff was attentive. The food was very good. Great quality at a reasonable price in a relaxed environment. It's possible to have three experiences in the same restaurant with seating in the bar area, the main dining room, and an outdoor, enclosed patio. We will be back."

"We had a wonderful experience! We were at GMU for a high school program (traveled from out of town). We had reservations for 9 and we ended up needing 11. The restaurant accommodated us without complaint. The food was delicious and incredibly reasonable in price. The server was warm and gracious. But what made the night particularly special was that the owner introduced himself to us, wanted to know about why we were at GMU and showed genuine interest and enthusiasm for the kids at our table who were part of the competition. A perfect evening! Thank you."

"The food was excellent, old-fashioned Italian comfort food. Sitting on the porch had a very nice ambiance. I highly recommend!"

"We took the family before a performance at George Mason. Very good food (excellent veal dishes). The caprese salad could use a little more oomph, although the mozzarella was very fresh. Friendly staff. Would definitely return."

"Casa Italia has become one of our local favorites. The Osso Bucowas terrific and the Linquine de Pesce was excellent. Importantly to me, the owner and the wait staff are always friendly, warm and welcoming. They appreciate my business and I enjoy bringing it to them."

"We visited Casa Italia for the first time on Valentine's Day. The restaurant was completely packed all evening, and most people seemed to be having a good time. The owner kept everything moving so people could be seated as quickly as possible, and he still made time to visit some of the tables to ask how they were enjoying their meals. The menu was limited for Valentine's Day, so we would like to go back when we can try some of the dishes from their extensive regular menu. They have a nice wine list, and we were glad they also sold wine by the 1/2 and full carafe, which is more affordable than buying a bottle of wine. We got our wine, salads, and bread very quickly. It took time to get our entree's and our check, but it was Valentine's."

"Just OK. Overbooked on Valentines and several people walked out due to lack of service. Parking lot was a nightmare. We found it to be fine and what someone should expect when they go out for dinner on Valentines Day."

"We went for Valentine's Day, I was a little disappointed after all the good reviews I've read. The place has been terribly overbooked and the owner was pretty stressed out and let it show. I am pretty sure it will be a lot nicer on a regular day when there are no lines, waiters have acutally time to say a nice word to you and the menu is more extensive. Overall, a nice place, we will probably go again to give it another try."

"The service at the restaurant was very good. The owner Dan made his way around the tables to check on patrons and to make sure service was top notch. Great seafood and pasta dishes. Seafood is purchased fresh three times a week and the pasta is made fresh daily. Recommend the tiramisu which is made by the owner himself. The only criticism I would have would be on the decor. It is rather outdated for my taste but the restaurant was packed nonetheless. Worth a visit to experience for yourself."

"My husband have been here three times and we have never been disappointed. We heard about the restaurant through the local newspaper. The review indicated that the sauces are very good and we agree."
