When you step inside their beautiful new Italian restaurant Antica Osteria you will immediately feel all of the worries of living in a big city melt away. The only hustle and bustle you may notice is that of the staff keeping up a quick pace to meet your every need, usually before you even realize you have a need at all.
The decor will sweep you away to a romantic dreamy Tuscan paradise with it's warm aged walls and woodwork. "We had a birthday party for 6 this past Saturday night. We were seated in a perfect area as the restaurant can seat larger parties in their own nook or room,so we had a feeling of privacy. The atmosphere at thsi restaurant is really great, like a relaxed diiner in Venice. The food was very good. I had the sea bass special whcih was served fresh, hot and tasty. The wine was above average as was the service. We had appetizers, salads, entrees, 3 desserts and 4 bottles of wine for less than $100 per person including tip, so pretty economical for what we got."

"order the stuffed avocado with sea food a sort of seafood Louie -it is often on th black board of specials--it is deivine; save room for the chocolate cake--this is a friendly place huge but you are made to feel like you are a guest--lots to choose from-you cannot go wrong!"

"We have been dining at this restaurant for several years, occasionally for our Friday night date night, and love the romantic Italian ambiance. However, we have noticed that it appears the quality of the food served is declining marginally. The veal picatta I ordered had only a very few very skinny strips of veal, although the sauce was as wonderful as ever. My wife said her spaghetti bolognese tasted like it was made with leftovers. However, we did enjoy the salad and wine, although there was no wine list for single glasses of wine."

"We usually love this place but we had a bad night. First, the wrong meal was brought out to me, we sent it back. My husband send his back too because he didn't want to eat without me, 20 minutes later the waitress brought both meals out. My meal was wonderful but it was obvious that my husband's spagetti was just reheated in the microwave, it tasted terrible and he could not eat it for a long time because it was extremely hot. Service was terrible, we sat there without water and no one was around."

"I love, love, love this restaurant. It is my favorite Italian restuarant in Houston. The food is always excellent - fresh and delicious, as is the service - attentive without excess. I've had pasta, fish, and beef and any chocolate dessert offered, and have never been disappointed. I recommend it to all my friends. The location is also great. I highly recommend"

"I recently went here with my husband for a nice date night dinner and loved it. The ambiance is great and I felt very much at home. It was packed on a Friday night, but the wait staff was very attentive. The fennel arugula salad and pasta were awesome, and the tiramisu was so yummy and light feeling! I would go back anytime."

My wife and I booked a table online and when we arrived there I mentioned that we had a reservation, then he said "Online?", to which I replied that that was correct. He proceeded to direct us to a table 4 feet from the entrance of he restaurant.
I would like to say more about the ambiance of the restaurant but we did not get to see more than the entrance and all the wait staff brushing by us going to and from the kitchen.
Clearly we got stuck at the "online" table."

"We were in a hurry to make it to a show, and of course running late. They were extremely attentive and responsive to our need to be in and out quickly. We were not rushed, receive our dinner in prompt fashion and made it to the show with time to spare!

"Everything was great EXCEPT we had to wait 30 minutes, even with reservations I had made a month in advance. The host kindly asked us to wait at the bar and let us know it shouldn't be long before we were seated. We then preceded to watch him seat people in front of us and then came to us and said, "you guys have been here a while, haven't you?" Do you go by reservations or how long people have been waiting who didn't plan ahead and make reservations?!?"

"This was our first visit to Antica Osteria. We had a wonderful evening before heading to the Houston Museum of Natural History for a members preview of the Faberge' exhibit. We were greeted warmly and though it took a bit of time before our wait person got to our table it wasn't an objectionable wait. The service staff took good care of us in the interim and once Our waiter engaged with us he provided terrific service until we departed for the museum. The food was fresh, tasty and generously proportioned. We'll be back!"

"My fiance and I have lived in the neighborhood for almost two years and have always talked about giving this place a try. I am certainly glad we did! We made a reservation the day before and were sat immediately in a back room. The place was pretty full at 7pm so i would recommend either getting a reservation or getting there early.
The wait staff and service was great. Everyone seemed quite friendly and attentive. We LOVED that specials were written on chalk boards that the waiters carried around. Our food was great though my one gripe would be that the tomato sauce was somewhat bland on the pasta dish we had. I needed a LOT of parmesean cheese to give it flavor. Regardless, we will DEFINITELY be going back and recommend it happily! Preg"
