Oldwick is in the heart of the Hunterdon County horse country, and the Tewksbury Inn is at the center of this 18th-century historic district. The Inn is a former stagecoach stop where the 21st-century traveler can enjoy the traditional friendly tavern atmosphere with fine food that reflects wide ranging influences. In 2008 the Tewksbury Inn began opening on Mondays for the first time and those who join us have been in for a real treat: Our entire wine list at half price. Our exquisite food deserves pairing with an equally great wine and at this value, we think you will agree.
"Food was outstanding. The skate was like butter and the hanger steak cut with a fork, it was so tender. All service people were corteous and helpful. Pace of courses seemed just right."

"Halibut in lemon and parsley was very refined and delicious. Softshell crab was cooked just right. Service was very good not rushed. An enjoyable evening even though the table of 4 next to us were very loud."

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoy dinner at Tewksbury Inn. We sit in the more casual bar area. Food is always excellent, service is pretty great, wine/drinks very tasty. A tad pricey, but definitely worth the trip!"

"A classic-styled restaurant in a very bucolic town. They offer an adventurous menu and executed it on a very high level. Noteworthy were the Salmon Tartare and the Rack of Lamb. The Filet au Poivre is always done exceptionally well. Our server was young but well trained, and the entire evening met our expectation. We dine here regularly and high suggest it."

"Charming place to enjoy a leisurely lunch. Have not experienced dinner there yet, but I'm sure it will be just as wonderful. It is a gem where it is as there aren't many other places around that neighborhood."

"My local restaurant/bar which never disappoints. From good sized martini's to the fried calamari which is the best I've ever had anywhere. Roger and the waitstaff always provide impeccable service.."

"I like the old world charm of this restaurant, the place has been around for over a hundred years, was originally a stagecoach stop on your way to New York City. You can still see the old barn wood that makes up the construction. And the food is good."

"My fiance and I are regulars at the TI but this time met up with 2 out of town friends for drinks and dinner. The bar scene was lively yet service was attentive on a Sarurday evening. Our 8pm reservation for 4 in the bar area was honored in a timely fashion. Everyone loved their appetizers- the muscles and the Bibb salad and entrees- a tuna, a scallop, a pork and a filet. Everyone left smiling and discussing when was the next time we could schedule another dinner for 4. Thanks again for another PERFECT dinin experience! We will see you soon."

"We went to the Tewksbury Inn on a whim because we had a couple of hours to kill while our daughter was at her friends school play. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was fabulous. It's obviously a locals hangout which gave us a nice feel for Tewksbury. The maitre d was personable and made us feel at home. The courses came out in ample time for us to really relax and enjoy our delicious food."

"It started with their not having a comfortable table for us in the bar after reserving a week in advance.. Then, they would not accomodate my dietary request for no added salt. The dinners were made up of odd vegetables, small portions, and my short ribs were overdone and skimpy. Altogether, not to be repeated. Same as last time that we didn't remember. atmosphere is very nice, though. Basically, it's their way or go somewhere else. We will."

"We had driven past the Inn a few times and always wanted to try it. We expected some pub like fare. When the menus arrived we were stunned. We felt like we were on restaurant row in NYC. Great creative choices. The Duck confit shepards pie was an amazing appetizer as was the calamari. quaint bar area .. a lot of charm.. I would highly recommend the Tewksbury Inn"

"Great place! Love the ambiance and warmth of both the place and the people. I'm from AZ and travel to NJ occasionally. When I do, Tewksbury Inn is a must! Loved the man who greeted us at the door (Roger or Robert). He was gracious with a great sense of humor. The food was excellent! We loved the calamari and mushroom polenta appetizers. The scallops, mushroom orichietta and salmon were a hit for dinner."
