"I just love this place! Our server Paul was amazing, friendly and gave great service. He even offered to take pictures of us with the sunset. :) The food was great, although I was a little disappointed in the presentation of my shrimp pasta dish compared to the grilled special that my partner ordered. But that is the only thing I could say was not totally perfect. Our table was in the corner and was very romantic. And of course the view was just breathtaking. I just love this place and will come back again and again!"

"The male host was very rude when we walked in. When we went to the buffet there were no plates. We had to ask a waitress for plates so we could get our food. The mimosa bar tender was rude and didn't offer help on how to make our own drinks. Not a good experience."

"We had 4 generations for Mother's Day brunch. The buffet worked perfectly and despite the overwhelming crowd the service was great. Our only suggestion was that the table placement was awkward. The table/chairs basically blocked the stairs and we had to move numerous times to accommodate people (mainly children...it was Mother's Day...what a shock!) wanting to use the stairs."

"First of all, when I made the reservation through Open Table there was no mention that there was only a buffet service on Mothers Day. Second, the restaurant was inadequately staffed and prepared to handle the number of reservations they had taken. Traffic flow was not well thought out, and chaos was everywhere. Last of all, the food was more what you would expect at a catered school event than a $$$$ restaurant. I've dined at all of the restaurants in that complex, and the only one that doesn't seem like it's simply floating on its location and view is Billy's. I don't think I'll be back to Soleil or the Oasis unless I hear that they've changed management."

"I'm not sure where to begin. We love the place and the food was good, not over the top. It would have been an excellent evening, but the service was bad. We spent over 2 & 1/2 hours trying to have dinner. The owner was very friendly and accomodating, but he couldn't make up for the service. They seemed to have a enough staff, but not efficient."

"The main knock on The Oasis out at Lake Travis is that while the view is amazing, the food is overpriced and mediocre. It's true. And while you'll pay a bit more at Soleil, it's completely worth it to eat off of their noteworthy surf 'n' turf menu while getting the same scenic ambiance. The waitstaff was good, not great, but the other elements more than made up for them."

"As the sun set over lake Travis, it was great to watch through the windows of Soliel. Nice live Jazz music playing in the background whilst sipping on a wonderful Mojito. The atmosphere is great. The service is consistent but the food lacks the pizazz that would make this an exceptional experience. We started with Caesar salad and panko encrusted goat cheese on tomatoes, followed by a moist but shellfish tasting red fish with pine nuts and raisins. The special was filet mignon with scallops and shrimp. Adequate filet with sweet well cooked scallops. Dessert disappointed as the special chocolate dessert was tasteless bread pudding with chocholate sauce on top (although presented well) and we also tasted a superb strawberry chiffon pie."

"I'm a vegetarian, and though vegetarian food is not their specialty, they made me a special meal that wasn't even on the menu! It was very delicious and my parents said their fish was incredible as well! Their drinks were delicious (I got the Strawberry Kiss and loved it) and the view is probably the best in Austin. An Austin sunset is always phenomenal and when the setting is by the lake it makes it that much better."

"It felt like the whole restaurant was dining on an open balcony with a breathtaking view. We eat inside but they opened the large windows for a comfortable breeze. The live jazz with dinner was great and not overwhelming. Diverse wine list with affordable bottles. My wife and I had dinner with wine, salad and tip was low 100's. portions are a little small but excellent taste. Listened to music in lounge afterward with dessert. I would take my kids there for a special occasion."

"When we were there the restaurant was out of most of the fish items on the menu including the Chef's special. Therefore we could not have dinner. The cheese plate felt kind of stale. "The dishes were creative and very fresh. Great seafood dishes, and a wide array of interesting choices other than seafood. The band was the perfect background music in that you could easily talk over them, but were so talented that it was fun listening to them. Half-price bottles of wine on Wednesday was a big plus. "Sat when we had our reservation, were able to provide outdoor seating per our request. Our server was very friendly and excited to tell us the specials. Food was outstanding, and portions were fair. Only thing I didn't like was at sunset, everyone and their mom wanted a picture right behind our table on the balcony. Which meant my wife kept getting bumped, disrupting our evening. Would be five stars if you put us at a different table."

"Fabulous view of Lake Travis! My husband and I had dinner here twice while visiting Austin. Since we stayed nearby at the Vintage Villas it was a convenient quick drive to Soleil. The food was quite tasty but the view of the sunset was was spectacular. Tip: Great Happy Hour!

"We dined for Easer Brunch for the second year in a row. The cost was lower this year, but there were fewer offerings, and the Mimosas and Bloody Marys were significantly more expensive! We enjoyed our brunch, but did miss the crab and shrimp that we were so looking forward to. I signed my nephew up for an Egg Hunt that took place before lunch. The Hunt and the management were both fantastic, and the management helped us out with a small seating issue as well, and they did it with a smile. You can't help but feel glamorous at Soleil... The decor is to die for."

"Easter brunch was a bust, unorganized, food was cold, no real choices for people who don't eat egg or meat, oh...there was biscuits and gravy that apparently kept running out and taking entirely too much time to refill (per the father). I will give props to the manager who I finally broke down enough who had a salad made for me. Otherwise I'd stick to dinner at this place."

"I've been here a few times and usually get very attentive service, which is partly because they are never busy for Sunday brunch. The food was very good, but although many tables were free, a family with three kids under 10 were seated next to my friend and I who were brunching. Kids are great but loud, and I thought it merited opening up another area of the restaurant to be considerate of the few tables already seated. Fortunately the parents were very considerate and the kids behaved for the most part."

"I am not a big foodie, but I enjoy a nice dining experience. I took a friend that was visiting from out of state. Our expectations were high considering the menu prices. The atmosphere was nice (they had a live band) and the decor was to die for. Our wine was great, we ordered 2 bottles, then came the food...The menu was small and priced high, so you would assume what they have to offer will be delish, that was not the case. My friend ordered the salmon - she didnt even finish her dish it was warm and bland. I am on a strict diet but was willing to cheat and ordered the mac and cheese (one of my all time favorite dishes). It was also dry, bland, not worth the cheat! After spending $150 we left hungry and disappointed."

"Really want this place to be good, but the food just is not good at all. Second time here and will not return. The first time stuck to the appetizer menu and it was OK. On this visit tried some of the main dishes and both mine and my date's were not of good quality. Drinks were not great either."

"My mom and I went went for the first time expecting a nice,upscale meal. Instead, we were surrounded by wild children that were not watched after and couples making out next to us. The service was poor- we had to seek out silverware. The food was cold. I would not recommend this to anyone I know. Good luck."

"Unfortunately for those of us that live near Lake Travis; the one restaurant that was just beginning to be a local foodie spot has disappeared. Solei has fallen prey to the " Texas Land & Cattle" re vamp.
Long gone are the unique appetizers, the home made pastas and the kind of food you actually go out to eat.
Welcome another steak on steak restaurant with sad pairings of some of the gulf coasts smallest Crustaceans.
We sent back cocktails. We sent back dessert. The only bright spot was our lovely waitress who deserves to work somewhere less embarrassing. I write this obituary for the restaurant that was Solei. Sorry Lake Travis; another one bites the dust."

"A good meal. We like to eat on the patio but it was way too cool and windy. Food was fine. The only problem was that I ordered the crab claws and they apparently have no shell cracker! I managed with a small ork, but it was way more laborious...besides... who ever heard of serving crab claws and not having a way to crack them ope."
