"I noticed that this restaurant always seemed to be booked when using my iphone open table app. That always adds to the intrigue of a restaurant and makes one want to dine there just a bit more.
We were extremely impressed with all facets of the restaurant-- my wife enjoyed the "everything" salmon while I had the chicken breast. Both dishes were presented well and delicious. My wife also had the kale salad as an appetizer and I had the chicken soup-- both were outstanding!
We would definitely go back!"

"A truly outstanding food and dining experience. The first words out of my wife's mouth after tasting her seared tuna appetizer was "This is a 10!." The entrees had us both savoring the delicious tastes afterwards. The service was also outstanding. In addition, our waiter, Eric, was knowlegable about the menu and gave us great detailed descriptions of the dishes we asked about. We have already made reservations for our next dinner there."

"If you keep a kosher diet, this place is terrific. If you don't, then not so exciting. I suppose it is similar to vegans raving over a tofu burger. It tastes terrible, but if that is your only option, it is pretty tasty cardboard.
The best item on the charcuterie was the liver pâté, this tablespoon sized serving the best part of the entire meal (for me). Also had the tartare and the barley risotto, which were nothing special. Others had ribeye, schnitzel and chicken and each were swooning. Suppose it all depends on your perspective.
Pricey. No liquor and $250 for four persons."

"Beautiful presentation of food which, for a kosher restaurant, was very good. Noise was moderate on our first visit, and noisy on the second. Brisket soup with luxion was delicious, but the amount of luxion (noodles) was pretty sparse. Fish dishes and chicken dish were excellent. Steak for 1 is good. (Hey, kosher meat is tough.) Schmaltz is served with the bread. (I would prefer pareve margerine).
The rib eye for 2 looked amazing! Will try next time."

"When we arrived, we were alerted by a friend that the food was on the heavy side and overly salty. We were certainly not looking for "health food" and were excited to eat traditional Eastern European fare and orded the less "fatty/heavy" options. But some of the dishes were so salty that they were barely edible! The best dish was the kale salad that was dehydrated first and then dressed so kept its crisp. We also enjoyed the smoked tuna stuffed peppers. But the accompanying seared tuna was tasteless and the balance of tuna mousse to pepper was overwhelming. Its in the neighborhood but we won't be going back."

"Based on the reviews and the success of Zahav, I was expecting spectacular. It was disappointing. Thought the food was very good - not great. VERY PRICEY! Portions are quite small. Suburban location will almost guarantee a steady clientele but I would be surprised if this is sustainable as a destination restaurant."

"Overall everything was great. Staff was attentive, food was wonderful. The only thing I didn't like was that tables were TOO close, no privacy and the noise level was high...maybe due to tables being so close. Felt very claustrophobic.y ..but then again, I like my space.

"This place was a mixed bag. The noise level is high - as are the prices. The food quality was high but some of the items (mushroom knishes, barley entree, potatoe sides, birthday cake) lacked flavor. The table-side service was outstanding but the special steak for two was ordered medium - it came out very,very rare. (It was removed from the bill)
My overall review was three stars but I reccomend it. The stars don't tell the whole story. This is a Kosher restaurant. No dairy, no pork products, no shellfish, etc. They are at a severe handicap when compared to highend establisments who aren't limted in what they can cook with and as far as costs are concerend. If you keep Kosher, give it a try."

"We enjoyed our dinner. The rolls and steak were the highlight and among the best we have had anywhere, along with the excellent service and attention to details. We had the smoked salmon appetizer which had little taste. We would have also preferred if there were some fresh green vegetables with our steak instead of the typical Shabbat fare of potato kugel (which wasn't the best we have had). Same goes for the entrees - roasted chicken just isn't exciting when you have it every week. We also felt like we were sitting on top of the people next to us and that they could listen to our every word - no privacy. Better table arrangements could help avoid this scenario."

"Truly a gem. I've already been there twice in the last month! Whether you are searching for kosher or not, the food is delicious. Creative and pleasing flavor combinations, and something for everyone despite the relatively small menu. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The only mildly negative thing is that even though the restaurant is small, the noise level is quite high; the owners should add sound baffles."

"It is so nice to FINALLY have a kosher restaurant that can stand on it's own. The quality of the food and service were wonderful and kosher and nonkosher families will enjoy it either way. The mushroom knish was incredible and to have a tender kosher ribeye was a real treat. The flavors, spices, and combinations of the food was delicious. Everyone was really happy with their meals and dessert and we are looking forward to going back. I hope people will see that you go to Citron and Rose because it is a great restaurant, not just because it is kosher."

"Overall, we had an amazing experience at Citron and Rose. The service was impeccable as the staff were accommodating, knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere was great! It had such a great energy, we loved the neutral decor with pop of color and the background music was great (e.g., Mumford and Sons, Dave Matthews). The food was very good, but somewhat inconsistent. The salmon gravlax first course was amazing as was the dry aged bone-in rib-eye. I would recommend splurging and getting the rib-eye, it really is worth it. The mushroom Knish was very good, but the crispy salmon wasn't crispy. It was good, but pretty ordinary. However, overall the dinner and dining experience as a whole was really outstanding. We can't wait to go back!"

"Excellent all around. Incredible service, must have had five or six different people helping at my table for two at various points of the meal. Food was very good, my steak was a bit salty for my taste which is why they are getting only four stars for food but it came fairly quickly and was made to order."

"I came here with my husband on a Thursday night and it was packed! We had a 8:00 reservation and people were still coming in at 9:00 for dinner. It reminded me a lot of a NYC restaurant because of the awesome design and food quality. We will definitely be back again soon! Great new neighborhood and kosher spot!"

"the ambiance was lovely and the staff were friendly and oh so accommodating. they tried to please us in every which way possible. that all being said, i found the food to be average, maybe trying a bit too hard. i would recommend the restaurant since their prices are reasonable, they have a bar and their staff is just so wonderful."

"We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated from a 6:15PM Sunday night reservation. Management treated us to a complimentary cocktail and 2 deserts to make up for their running late. They clearly overbooked and seemed more interested in having more guests than making clientele wait.
The side vegetables, salad and dessert were the memorable parts of the meal rather than the main entree choice. The crispy salmon wasn't that crispy and the veal schnitzel was well prepared but without much flavor.
The salad with gold and red beets was really fresh tasting with added dill. The sauteed kale and pureed parsnips were just a delight.
The desserts were just yum.... we had the bread pudding with maple walnut ice cream and chocolate mousse."
