Nonna Rosa's is a charming neighborhood Italian restaurant owned and operated by married couple Chef Francesco & Tina Suglia. Their cuisine features Italian specialties such as risotto, gnocchi, pasta, fresh seafood, veal and steak. Nonna Rosa’s is chef driven and inspired by the time spent by the owners growing up in their grandmother's houses. The ambiance is warm and cozy with an open kitchen and a full bar. They also feature a banquet room with muraled scenes of Venice and a spacious European style patio. Nonna Rosas is located in the heart of Robbinsdale's historic business district. Open daily for lunch and dinner.

"I found that I was charged for the wrong price on two items after I got home and checked the prices. Also, they ran out of potatoes that comes with every entree on a Friday night prime dinner hour which I found that surprising. I sent my comment to the restaurant via the restaurant website but I have not heard back from them yet."

"I have been to Nonna Rosa's many times and have always had good food and service, so I was really disappointed when we had such non existence service last Saturday. We had a group of 7 and we made our reservations for 5PM because we were all going to a show over in St. Paul afterward. We asked to be seated out on the patio and we saw other servers waiting on the other side of the patio, but no one came to even get our drink orders for at least 20 minutes, then another 20-30 minutes to get our food ordered and another 20-30 for it to come and half of our table got their food a good 15 minutes before the rest came out. When it was time to pay we had to go inside and ask for our check. The food was good but I would eat inside!"

"I really enjoyed the food. I had the Risotto Mediterraneo and it was amazing. My ancestors are Italians so I know what a great Italian food actually is, and the food was tasty and full of flavor. The restaurant is authentic."

"We raved so much about Nonna Rosa's after our first visit that my parents where eager to try it out. They got their chance a couple of days ago and Nonna's did not disappoint. The food was wonderful, our waitress amazing & attentive. This was also out first time bringing our kids. There is no set menu for kids. Basically the order whatever they want off the grown up menu and they make it kid sized. They loved it! We all had such a wonderful time. I also have to mention, my dad struggles with hearing loss and hates going out because most places are so loud you cannot have a conversation. He had not problem at Nonna's & is excited to return! Thank you, once again, for a wonderful evening!"

"Service was not horrible, but it felt like they needed more servers. It was not a romantic place. My husband and I got stuck at a table where there was a lot of traffic by door. It made the meal somewhat unpleasant. I would recommend requesting a table away from the door when you make reservations. The food was good. My meal came with a caesar salad, which was nothing special. Both our entrees were very good. We also had the bruschetta, which was good, but the bread was a little soggy."

"We were in town for girls weekend and looking for Italian that wasn't a chain. An internet search brought us to Nonna Rosa's. We're so glad it did! The food was amazing and our server (Lindsey?) was attentive and had a great personality. The timing of our food was a little off (waited quite awhile for the appetizer and then again for the salad. All of a sudden our meal was there before we were half-way through the salad). Our server made a light-hearted joke about it and apologized so all was ok. Nonna Rosa's has a very fun, laid-back atmosphere and we will definitely be going back again!"

"This was our secondtime at your restaurant. The food was excellent. However, this time the service was slow, and the waitrress was not that attentive. There was also a dinner theater that night and the crowd got bigger and bigger and congregated in the restaurant area and it was so noisy that it took away from the nice quaint environment that we wanted. It was hard talking to our friends. I don't think I'd return whenthey have their dinner theater."

"My first visit to this restaurant. Had a veal dish that was excellent except for the baby carrots that seemed to be Cub food brand and they were not cooked enough (still hard). Excellent wine list and prices are moderate. We tried a crazy desert "Spicy Chocolate" gelato which I found out was laced with red peppers and extremely spicy. Crazy stuff - even crazier that my wife ordered it since she thinks banana's are too spicy. Must have been the wine! All in all a fun little place to go with some unique dishes you wont find at any other Italian place. We would go back again."

"Walking in this place felt like home. Cozy, warm, and being able to see the chef's cook was great. I had the VITELLO SALTIMBOCCA. I would get this dish again! Service was great. I liked how our app, salad, and then dinner was spaced out. The house balsamic dressing was very good!! They took their time and made us feel like regulars. And, when regulars did walk in, the servers made sure to stop by and say hi to them. I will be bringing out of state guests here this summer."

"We have undertaken to visit Nonna Rosa's for many years for their Valentines day special. However, the food was only passable this time. I had the steak, and though the rib-eye was tender, it was only warm when it arrived. Additionally, no seasoning was used in the preparation, and the taste was flat. I didn't sent it back because it took an eternity to arrive at the table. My wife's fair was much better. The cannoli's were very tasty and we both took home left overs as there was an abundance of food served; we will know better than to order an appetizer in the future.
The music was very good, and the full house added to the enjoyment of the moment. Still, the poor food detracted from the overall positive feelings of the outing."

"What a great find this restaurant is. We will be back. We went early in the evening and the whole experience was memorable. Nice wine selection. Presentation of the starter was a beauty. "We loved our visit! We got our gift certificate for Christmas. We loved the appetizer Mozzerella with tomato and basil. The waitress was very knowledgable, explaining differences between North and South Italy food/ it was nice to have authentic food and a lovely atmosphere! Thank you.

"We keep coming back to this restaurant over and over again. We have always been impressed by the food and service. We have also gone to a few special events hosted by Nonna Rosa's and have had a great time! Love, love, love the food and the ambience and really enjoy the homade gelato at the end of the meal :) two thumbs way, way up! Ps the specialty martinis are to die for!"

"We were seated immediately for an early Valentines reservation . Our Server was very friendly... A bit rehearsed but friendly. Signature cocktails were suggested right away. We had a nice glass of Reisling and a fairly bland Bloody Maria. We ordered Brushetta as an appetizer. The bread was cold and not toasted at all. Complimentary bread for the table arrived after we were finished with salads. Salads were very nice. Dinner arrived promptly ... My Risotto was terrifically bland... Couldn't taste any traditional chicken stock, white wine or butter... Consistency was right but absolutely no flavor . The salmon that was draped over it was prepared perfectly. We also had scallops / shrimp and they were also prepared properly but lacked flavor"

"I have been to Nonna Rosa's on a prior occassion and had a great time all around. Made the mistake this time going on Valentines day.Had a reservation for 6:15 and didnt get seated till 6:50.That did not sit well with the wife. That is not what you need to have happen on that paticular day.I understad the popularity. Food was excellent.It wouldnt have been so bad if you could get near the bar or if there was a larger area to wait, but that isnt the case.I would say you would be fine going there on any other days except holidays. I would have rated the overall experience higher if it would not have been so late on the seating and overall lack of a waiting area."

"The Gnocchi's were terrible: soft, over cooked and no taste. The rest of the food ordered was pretty common fair. I feel the only thing keeping this restaurant going is the contact the owners have with the diners. If I never eat there again, it won't be missed."

"We were with 4 people and not one of us enjoyed the food. The calamari appetizer was completely deep-fried as though it was a fast food joint. The pasta's tasted like they were straight from a frozen box...generic and dull. We left half of it on our plates. Even the bread in the basket was dry and tasteless. Is it so difficult to serve good bread?! The only thing that was great was our waitress but unfortunately that's never enough to get customers to return."

"Unfortunately we were seated next to a large group that was very loud and trying to get everyone to look at them. We should have been seated elsewhere, which may have improved our experience. The waitress was very good and did her job well. The food was average and did not compare to other similarly priced italian restaurants. We are unlikely to return."

"We had a horrible experience. The food was ok but the restaurant was terribly understaffed. Our waitress, got the orders mixed up, took such a long time to get my wine that I had to cancel it, and mixed up the billing as well. I will not recommend this to anyone."
