Dining in Plymouth has taken a quantum leap forward with the opening of RooBar in Cordage Park. Hip and stylish, RooBar has integrated the elements of a vintage New England factory building with innovative, contemporary interior design. Featuring an open kitchen and a wood-fired oven, custom built of beach stone, the result is a handsome and spacious restaurant that offers fine dining in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
"YES! I went here on a Cupid first date and I have to say it really made the evening. The staff sat us in a quiet corner table and were around just enough to keep things moving. Cosmos are delicious. 1st: Tuna sashimi appetizer (YUM! Better wasabi than most formal sushi places!). The pan roasted atlantic salmon with baby gnocchi, portabello mushrooms, spinach and sweet vermouth dijon cream was by far the best meal I've ever had. Yes, EVER. My date had the lightly blackened and pan seared local sea scallops with apple wood smoked bacon, slivered sweet bell peppers, swiss chard and creamy cauliflower puree. He loved his as well. The scallops were perfectly cooked. We both were sad we had no room for dessert. WILL DEFINITELY RETURN."

"After the first visit I was a fan. The food is really good. Both the pizza as well as the entrees. You can sit in the bar and watch the game, or sit in the dinning area. It's in an old building that has a neat feel, big windows and squeaky floors. Check it out, you will be back."

"Have been to the Roo-bar for dinner several times, most recently last Sat. As usual the food was wonderful and well priced. Service was friendly and efficient without being too overbearing. I would always recommend Roo-Bar to friends as a place where you will experience great food and fair prices."

"Buried in an off the beaten path warehouse business park, this is a great spot to find. Low key, high energy staff matched with innovative tasty food, makes this a must try place if you are on the South Shore or heading down the Cape. Gluten-free or special requests...not a problem. The Gluten-free pizza was delish as were the Cilantr Lime shrimp."

"went to Roo Bar to celebrate graduation with a small group.I had never been before but it was recommended by friends. The food is described as "creative dining" and it definitely works. We got appetizers, salads, a number of different entrees, and creme brulee for desert. Everything was absolutely delicious!!!!! I have eaten in restaurants all over the US and Europe and consider myself to be somewhat of a "food expert" . Kudos to the chef!"

"The ambiance was really modern. The food was excellent. Our service was the only thing lacking though other servers we observed appeared to be great. We would definitely go back again."

"Took my wife and kids for Mother's Day Dinner. Didn't know they were only serving a brunch buffet that day. We found out when the waitress told us after being seated. The buffet ended at 4:00 PM and that was the time of our reservation. The food was not fresh. My wife had to ask the waitress if she could bring out a salad w/o the wilted lettuce. The beef at the carving station was cold. We chose the RooBar because it is/was one of my wifes favorite places, but unfortunately I found it to be very underwhelming. When leaving the restaurant we passed the manager who never asked us how the food/service was and I think I know why, he was afraid I would tell him the truth about the food he was serving that day."

"We needed to eat in Plymouth around 9, as my fiance had a meeting nearby. There were only 3 options; we picked Roobar. It was wonderful! We were running a few minutes late so we called, and they sat us promptly when we arrived. The waitress was very friendly, but we caught a glimpse of the chef in the back who seemed aggravated that we were late. They close early when it's slow, which it very , much was. I had the mac and cheese appetizer and for dinner I had the Margherita pizza. Both of these dishes were amazing! I left very full. My fiance had a salad and their fillet. He loved how both were prepared. I will definitely return!"

"Great menu choices, varied but not overwhelming. Burgers and Braised Short Rib was our favorite along Mac & Cheese App and Arancinis. The gnocchis with the Salmon fell short on appeal and taste, they looked like beans however the salmon was delicious. Will definitely go back to try the Pizza."

"The service and food was fantastic, we had a great waitress. However the bar left something to be desired. The bartender ignored us and while we were waiting for our table. We had about 15 minutes wait for our table and it took him that long to wait on us and he was curt, we barely got our drinks before we were escorted to our table. I could have understood it if the bar was busy but it was not."

"Overall a very pleasant experience. I had the Blackened Sea Scallops, which were excellent; my wife had the Lemongrass Chicken Pasta, which was also good. The Roo Burger was definitely a gourmet burger. Appetizers: Tuna Sashimi was average - not worth the price. Chicken Quesadilla was better. Good atmosphere and good food. Prices are a bit high, which will prevent this from becoming a "regular" spot for us."

"Sit in the bar, the tables are comfortable and spacious. They were very busy, and the host was a little frazzled, but the waitress was excellent, and our food was very good. Always a good choice."

"Enjoyed a birthday dinner with family for my 14 yo son who selected Roo Bar for the best burger he ever had. Our party of 8 was seated in a large booth in the bar area (a request made at time of reservation so we could keep tabs on the Bruins).
Pleasantly surprised by the Prixe Fixe menu options which were outstanding and reasonably priced. We also enjoyed the companion beverage option and enjoyed a nice bottle of merlot. The bistro steak with shrimp was excellent, and with and appetizer AND dessert for $21.95 was too much to pass up, even if I was going to give the burger a try. My husband had the lo mein appetizer and I went with the caesar salad; we each tried one of the 2 dessert options (turtle brownie and creme brulee)."

"The food was only mediocre -- overcoked pasta and underseasoned fish. The waitress was barely adequate. She made no effort to place our food in front of us, merely dropped it off at the end of the table. Totally lacking in grace. Most disturbing was a musty/mildewy odor throughout the restaurant."

"We were taken promptly for our 7pm reservation. Unfortunately, we sat for 25 minutes, without being acknowledged. When I spoke to the host, I was told that our table was being served by Christine, THE OWNER. He spoke to her, and when she came over, she said that she didn't see us there. ????? We were celebrating a birthday, thought perhaps, being the owner and all, that she might take a dessert or a drink off of the bill....NOPE. I had been there once before and had a wonderful time...thought it would be the perfect place for a celebration, but must say, will think twice about going again :("

"The ambiance was great - It seemed to be an old factory with exposed beams and high ceilings. The restaurant was a big open space, so sound traveled and it was quite loud, but nothing that caused concern. The food was great. They had a small menu but seemed to have perfected it perfectly. I would definitely go there again."
