"Chucks has excellent cocktails but the food didn't live up to my expectations. It was just okay. Also, the atmosphere different than what I expected. It was like they mixed a club/bar with a restaurant. I would only go back for drinks."

"I felt the quality of food was run of the mill. There should have been more turkey in the special salad. I also felt our meal was pricey. Every item was more than most other restaurants and the quality did not justify the price. The front room facing Michigan Ave was great and the staff was reasonably attentive."

"A bit pricy for lunch, albeit on Michigan Avenue. At the price level, I'll be coming back very infrequently. Nonetheless, food was very good. My friend had their Monday special was a $5.00 hamburger which was quite reasonable and looked to be a great value. I had the "Trio Lunch" which consisted of 3 offerings off of a limited portion of their menu. I opted for their soup (Italian Wedding Soup) with their Caesar salad and a chicken salad on a croissant. All 3 were of exceptional taste but for $18 ($6.00 each), I felt it was not such a deal compared to the hamburger."

"Despite the friendly service and cool vibe, the food here is very blah--it seems the only flavoring is salt. My "roasted" chicken tasted like something form a higher-end frozen entree, the polenta was an indistinguishable mush, and my spinach was OK, no better than what I prepare at home. The salad--goat cheese, roasted pear, arugula--was the best thing on the plate, though the dressing was skimpy and bland. A place to stop for a drink, maybe--I had as nice glass of Malbec--but my friend and I were overall very disappointed and won't be going back."

"The place was completely empty, there were people on a couple of other tables spread out through the large restaurant. When we got our food, everything was very bland, like they hadn't used any seasoning whatsoever. I don't often write rewiews, but this was just so incredibly bad. The decor in the place was apparently the only thing they focused on, because the food was simply bad. We couldn't finish anything we ordered. Bottom line: just don't go there."

"The food was original and tasty. At lunch we had limited time, and service was efficient but not rushed. Great location on Michigan Ave. This place is a winner."

"The decor is very modern and cool. The whole restaurant was very loud though. It was hard to talk with everyone in our group. I'm thinking it might have gotten better a little later in the night, but we went right after work. As for the food, the turkey burger was excellent. It had a ton of flavor and I really enjoyed it."

"Terrible. We waited for over an hour for our food and when it came it was prepared incorrectly. They then fixed it but incorrectly again. Would not ever go here again."

"Too many other restaurants to choose from in the area that are much better. Has sort of a cheap plastic feel to it; service was poor (we got the wrong order)and the food just average but the price. For the money, not worth it."

"The fun view of the bar from the street attracted us but we sat in the spacious restaurant area. Two of us had wine and burgers and fabulous service. The house Chardonnay was great!"

"We had a terrible experience and walked out, we understand it was St. Patricks Day we expected it to be crowded, loud, and over all a busy atmosphere.
We however, did not expect the Music to be blasting so horribly loud, we could not hear the waiter at all, nor talk to eachother..
It was terrible, ear drum hurting loud, we walked out and never ate lunch."

"Such an amazing time and service. The place was getting very busy so our waiter needed some assistance as we were originally a party of 3 that turned into 11. Dila came around and made sure we were well taken care of and helped the waiter with service. Have to say hands down the staff was the friendliest I have encountered out of any downtown bar scene I have been to. Absolutely outstanding and fabulous service."

"We were seated by the hostess and were then promptly ignored by all of the wait staff for 15 minutes until someone from our party got up to complain. Most of our party got soup and a salad or sandwich for lunch. Some soups came out before the main course, others did not. Sandwiches were made on stale bread, and fries were downright cold. Once we were done eating, the wait staff left out empty plates on the table as they asked if we wanted coffee or dessert--the plates remained on the table through coffee as well. I won't even consider setting foot in Chuck's again."

"I liked the food very much. You can build your own lunch which gives a lot of options. Salads are large and you can add a protein if you wish. I had a spinach salad and added tuna. The tuna was a bit over cooked but good. It is expensive for lunch and the service is slow. Overall the experience was good. It would be better if the service was faster, especially for a business lunch."

"The service was very good. There are tasty cocktails on the menu. I don't recommend the crab cakes however, until they grow up a bit. They were only 3 on the plate, smaller than a golf ball and I don't think they were done cooking. It was sort of like eating 3 drops of tuna salad. The sweet potato fries were great though. The music is vibrant with almost a club feel, but there is no dance floor."

"It's very loud for dinner, the volume of music is more suited to a club than toward a dinner including conversation. Just be prepared if you're going at that time. I love it there for lunch; they have great options for food and they are quick!"

"Looks like a sports bar from the outside with all the tvs you can see through the window. We wanted a place to eat watch the Illinois/ Northwestern basketball game. Turns out they don't have the Big Ten network. The eating area doesn't really match the front sports bar with all the TVs. The eating area is more like a club atmosphere. It's a neat, hip atmosphere with a DJ that plays LOUD music. Food was pretty good, we "manufactured" our meals, which meant we picked 3 choices from a fixed menu for $25. Portions were on the small side, which was fine, just felt a bit pricey for what we got. I probably would not chose to eat here again. We ended up going across the street to Sweetwater to watch the end of the Illini basketball game"

"Chuck's is a must visit in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. The decor is trendy and fun and the atmosphere is vibrant without being snooty. The DJ played a fun mix of music from 70's remixed music to today's dance hits. The food on the menu isn't fancy, but there's a good selection with variety. This place is memorable!"

"EARLY lunch on a MONDAY. They started us out with a shot glass of the soup special -- fire roasted pepper soup (I think). Not too firey and a nice touch. Everyone paid lots of attention to us (no particular reason) and everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were right-sized. Not too big or too small. The "manufacturing" part of the name of the restaurant - apparently - is because you can manufacture your own 3-part combo lunches. My pal had the roasted pepper soup, 1/2 of a turkey club and sauteed spinach. I had ceasar salad, pulled BBQ pork sandwich with sweet potato fries (a MOUNTAIN of yummalicious fries). Both of the presentations were very nice. Everything was delicious. There's a hip vibe. Very funky looking - I"

"The restaurant is easily accessible being right off of Michigan Ave. The decorations were really interesting inside and are a direct correlation to the restaurant's name. I really enjoyed the part of the menu that they offer where you choose 3 different dishes for $15. I was pleased with the meal for the price. I will definitely go back to take advantage of their bar selection and ambiance."

"Amazing food, but they can't seem to get their act together on timing in the kitchen. The management and our waiter were very nice and tried to make up for it with free desserts, but that's the second time we've been there and had issues with our food coming out in a weird sequence and having to remind our server that we were missing items we had ordered. Maybe the third time will be the charm!"

"Some friends and I had a pre-theatre dinner at Chuck's Manufacturing before going to the Goodman. We didn't tell our server that we had to be out by a certain time and even though we gave ourselves 2 hours and the theater was just a couple blocks away, we were still running to get there before the curtain went up. However, with that said, it was so worth it. The food was incredible and while the service may not have been speedy, the servers were very friendly and responsive. Once we told them we needed to get to the theatre they got us out of their quickly, so enjoy the food but let them know you have a deadline. Also, the decor is quite impressive, but conversation was difficult as the music was blaring the entire time."

"Had to wait a while for my table. Service was great. The best thing about this place is the decore and atmosphere. My burger was a bit burnt. I loved that they had a variety of non-alcoholic drinks. I'd definately come back to try dinner or a manufactured meal as they call it."
