"I wanted a nice restaurant to go to after my daughter's college graduation. Her and I decided to check it out for lunch and i was very pleased. I had made a special request that we not be placed in a booth for our reservation after the graduation because i had a party of 10 including my 96 year old grandmother. When we arrived they tried to give us a large booth.........! Of course i told them i had requested NOT to have a booth. We then had to wait while they scrambled to find us a different location. They ended up putting us in the private dining room. Unfortunately the atmosphere was far from the actual restaurant. On three separate occasions there was a loud banging noise that scared everyone. I was not happy with that."

"My wife and I were in town for a friend's wedding. My mom and sister were also attending the wedding, so we wanted some place to take my mom on Mother's Day. I found Medici through Opentable and read the reviews. I was pleased that they did not have an increased price menu on Mother's Day, like a lot of restaurants do. We were all very pleased with the food and the service. I especially liked the ambience and open space and feel of the restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I had the Han's Stroganoff (sp?), while other had the crab cakes benedict - all which earned great reviews. The portions were filling, but not too big, and all were reasonably priced."

"Have loved the atmosphere/building/location of Medici since it opened in Uptown Normal but have been consistently disappointed with the service. I know they have been through countless managers and just don't seem to be able to improve on the service aspect. A nice variety on the menu and the food is typically good (not great) but the service is just mediocre."

"The decoration is lovely, the food is very good (and I do come from the Chicago area). Very nice addition to Normal for a outdoor lunch spot or a special occasion."

"This is a great place to come for a work lunch, with a client or just co-workers. There are many food options to choose from and even nice vegetarian choices. Skip the pick two lunch option and try one of the amazing salads instead, you won't regret it."

"My parents came into town so my husband and I took them out to eat at Medici. I've wanted to eat there because of the beautiful interior decoration and the tree that's in the middle of the restaurant! My farther and I are both on a strict gluten-free diet because of a genetic disease. I was expecting to order a fabulous salad, or a chicken/steak meal. To my surprise, they had a gluten-free menu full of amazing options. From pasta to pizza, there were so many gluten-free meals to choose from! It was great. We all enjoy our meals great (gluten-free and "regular" meals alike). I hope to return for a date night with the hubby again soon to try out those other gluten-free entree's."

"We had tickets for a play that started at 7:30 in north Normal. We were seated at per our requested area (hearing impaired so asked for a booth or a wall when seated) We were seated in a booth which was great. We told our waiter about the tickets and he was attentive, quick, helpful all while waiting on lots of prom attendees! Wish I could remember his name because he was great!! We were out of the restaurant by 7:05 and headed to the theatre. Great experience! Food was all wonderful too!"

"This was a really great restaurant right in the middle of the downtown Bloomington area near ISU. We took my daughter and her boyfriend there when visiting her at school. It really was a good find. Service was a little slow but that was because it was Prom weekend and there were many couples that were going to Prom after dining there."

"The ease of getting a reservation and how quickly my party was seated was outstanding. We were given plenty of time to review the menu and the server offered the specials in a timely manner. The appearance of the food when served was outstanding and the flavors were very good. My party had an outstanding experience and would return to Medici's again."

"There were six of us for the first time. We had heard about it from a friend and I also saw that you had supported the Antique Show at the Bone Center at the university. We all had different entrees and found them to be very good. Don't miss the crab cake - WOW! The serving size was generous with lots of crab meat (missing at many restaurants). I think I will order it and a salad for an entree, great if you're watching the calories. We will definitely be back. Well worth the visit. We also ate an early dinner (4:00pm) and that was just right for the noise. By the time we left, the noise level had risen quite a bit with a full restaurant."

"The food and service were VERY good. I had the Salmon Brulee and my guy had the steak and everything was very tasty and presented well. The Gouda Mac is to die for. The Kentucky Hooch was a very tasty drink. Would have liked to stay for more. ;) The one thing we were VERY disappointed in is even though we had a reservation we were put in the private room. This was our first time at the restaurant and we were not able to check out the decor or enjoy the ambiance. Being stuck (as we felt we were) back in the private area we felt we were sitting in a fast food restaurant or at least a cafe setting. Not what we wanted or expected. We hope to try it again for lunch or brunch and will insist on sitting in the main restaurant."

"Very Good. Pizza dough is hand made and delicious, definitely worth it to get the artisanal stone. Wish they had soda options that did not contain high fructose corn syrup though, such as sierra mist."

"Took my girlfriend here for our anniversary expecting a nice dinner. Honestly, the waitress couldn't have cared less, didnt ask us how our meal was or anything. Really felt unimportant and kind of rushed. The bread before the meal wasn't good and she had the stroganoff and i had the prime rib. I should have cooked dinner for her and it would have been better. Not even worth the money i spent. Plus RC products they offered tasted non carbonated. I'll never return and if your thinking about going go for a beer. Take your woman to olive garden instead they knock this place out of the water for half of the price. Overall...over priced, not great food or portions, poor service. Only thing good was the large tree in the middle of restraunt."

"I've been here before and am trying a different dish every time I visit. This time I had the Salmon Brulee with Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese and Asparagus and was not disappointed (never have been either): great piece of fish, great preparation, and good presentation. My fiance had the grilled tuna steak sandwich (medium rare) and it was equally delicious. Once again, I will go back. On a side note, I did not like our seating this time, as it was in the upper level, in the back corner. I think it's typically an event room. The atmosphere is lacking in the area. However, that will not prohibit me from returning (although I will probably specify my preferences for seating there in the future when making a reservation)."
