Winberie's Restaurant & Bar is a local, full service, casual concept serving Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Brunch. The restaurant offers freshly prepared cuisine at moderate prices. Menu selections are created from high quality fresh ingredients. The restaurant personality reflects the friendly, easy going mood of a stylish, neighborhood Bistro, with attentive service, in a relaxed atmosphere. The warm decor includes traditional finishes of wood, brass and granite with warm, subtle lighting accented with unique vintage poster art. Winberie's is conveniently located in the "heart" of Oak Park.

"Great experience, we had a mix of appetizers. We had the fish tacos which were very tasty crunchy shell the tuna was seared on the outside and raw in the middle. Also had the crab cake which was delicious with a mustard sauce and cool crunchy salsa. And the dynamite sticks which were also very good, crunchy and the spicy sauce was just right with them. Would definitely go back when we are in the Oak Park area again."

"We went to the Home Tour in Oak Park and had a great meal at the end of the trip at Winberie's Restaurant & Bar. There were eleven of us and they accommodated us perfectly. it was a great place to go and would recommend to all."

"The bread was tasty. The pasta not so great. If you order a glass of wine, you get what looks like half a glass of wine or less for $12 about 4 1/2 oz by my estimate which the waitress informed me was a 6 oz standard pour. Order the bottle if you want wine, since the pours are very stingy. I ate about a third of my half order of pasta. The pasta half order was massive in size but so-so in terms of taste. Burgers, salads and seafood are much better, The bread was very tasty. I usually tip 20-25% for good to excellent service. This waitress lost the $2-3 off the much more generous tip I typically leave for quality service and a good experience. When a customer expresses dissatisfaction, service staff should send a manager to the table.."

"We were a group of six. Our server was so wonderful that we asked her name, Dorothy Reed. The food was excellent. My tuna was perfectly done, very rare. I have never had a bad meal at Winberie in Oak Park. It's a pleasant restaurant setting with good food, good wine list and it's conducive to being able to sit and visit."

"The brunch buffet was okay. The food wasn't particularly hot or spectacular. The best thing on the buffet were the large, ripe strawberries on the dessert table. Our waitress was apathetic, and admitted that their bloody marys weren't that good, because, "they don't make them very often." They were also already out of celery at 9am. Overall, okay, but I won't be going back."

"Last Tuesday our group of retired teachers met for our monthly get together. We had a wonderful time at Winberies. Our lunches (sometimes lasting as long as 3 hours) are rather lengthy because everyone is talking. The waitstaff was wonderful and very aware that all we wanted to do was talk and not be interrupted. They sat us at a round table which made conversation so much easier, gave us our menus and left us alone! When we decided to order, the waitress was quick and efficient. The food (as usual) was delicious and everyone seemed full and satisfied. Had a great time!!"

"Thank you Winberies Cafe. I set up a lunch meeting to discuss business because I knew the acoustics and ambience would perform well during a busy lunch rush. My company insulated the ceiling with SonaSpray "fc" to correct a previous noise problem. I try to return business to companies that hire my firm. I was in for a surprise becuase I had not had the opprotunity to dine here yet. The service was excellent from the moment we entered the door until the time we left. Our waitress Michelle made some very good recommendations from their menu and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the protions were a good size for the cost. I will use your business to conduct a quality lunch meeting anytime.

"I ordered a crabcake sandwich anticipating the wonderful sandwich I had weeks previous. This sandwich was very disappointing, more like crab salad mush. Not at all what I remember from the last crab cake sandwich at this place. Overall, food tasted very salty, even moreso than the usual restaurant saltiness factor. Meals were also overpriced. a $60 bill for a sandwich, mac and cheese, 2 side salads and a beer. I remember Winberie's as consistantly good, so maybe this was an off night. Maybe we will try again another time, but not optimistic."

"I'm a little late leaving this review but my husband and I got married by civil court and we decided we would do a small wedding brunch with our family. I have to say, they catered to our every needs! The staff was great! They gave us a complimentary champagne bottle, which was so unexpected and very thoughtful! It was the ideal place to have our little special occasion celebration. I would go back in a heartbeat just for lunch, brunch, or dinner! The food was amazing and my brother-in-law was really impressed with their wine list. Thank you again Winberies!"

"Our lunch was outstanding. The only issue was that I'd forgotten I'd ordered soup with my sandwich and the server forgot to bring it to me. Some time after I'd left the restaurant, I remembered I'd ordered soup, looked at my bill and noticed I'd paid for the soup. Otherwise, everything was perfect."

"I'm not sure if the person I am referring to is the owner or manager but this person has been there each timed I have dined at Winberie's. He seems to be very selective about who he visits with at the various tables of diners, and is not friendly if you make eye contact. I've noticed this on many occasions when I have dined there. The only reason that I dined there most recently is because a friend had never been there and wanted to check it out. I will not dine there again."

"Food was amazing! I've been there a few times now and the food never disappoints. The service the first time we went was a little sketchy, was better this last time-but still not great. Had an empty water glass for most of my meal. Go here to check out Chef's Calamari, and Ahi Tuna Tacos, they are scrumptious."

"The food was absolutely AMAZING! The server was very friendly and very attentive to our needs. It's also not too many places you go, want to take your leftovers home, and the staff packs it up for you. In addition, if you're a wine lover like my fiance and I are, the wine list has a lot to offer also. We will certainly be going back and will be recommending it to friends and family!"
