"We went to Sip's Bistro on a Monday Night after hearing about this place. The four of us all enjoyed our meals. My friend who ordered the Confit de Canard claimed it was the best duck she has had since here trip to France 4 years ago. Our server was polite and attentive and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu. Cocktails were also made well and they have a few good craft beer on tap. I definitely will be back to Sip's sometime soon."

"We went to Sip's for Brunch on Mother's Day and everyone in our party of 6 had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was warm & relaxed but still classy at the same time. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. I would definitely recommend Sips for any occasion."

"I have been to Sips for dinner and for brunch. Fresh, delicious food, good presentation, and a friendly staff. My most recent visit for brunch included the avocado crab cakes (spectacular), eggs benedict, and a fresh fruit/granola/yogurt parfait. Beautiful bar with a nice drink list, very pleasant outdoor dining patio. I highly recommend Sips. Its just a really nice place that won't burn your budget and will satisfy your craving for fine food!"

"The owner and staff at Sips was very welcoming at our Mother's Day brunch. The crab cakes were delicious as was the Crocque Madame. A mix-up about french fries was dealt with quickly and pleasantly. The blood orange margarita was also very tasty. We will definitely return on a warmer day to sample more of the menu and to sit outside in the lovely patio."

"This was my 3rd attempt at dinner at Sips. They have done a great job replicating a French bistro, the menu reads perfectly, the wine list is exceptional, the service is unobtrusive. The also have the best terrace in town.
The appetizers and salads were great, but just like my previous experiences the entrees were lacking. I had a filet and my wife had the steak frites. While both cuts of meat were cooked to perfection they weren't the highest of quality. My filet came with a potato side which was undercooked and actually seemed to have been preprepared, frozen and then reheated. This is very consistent with previous visits.
It's a nice place to sit, relax and drink, but head elsewhere for dinner."

"While our husbands were fishing in Canada, a friend and I had a great Parisian dinner in Phoenixville. The menu has many French classics (moules, frites, brie etc.) accompanied by an imaginative selection of hand-crafted cocktails. Our server Liz was informative, attentive and a lot of fun. We can't wait to go back when the weather is warmer and sit outside in the patio area."

"We arrived during happy hour and the bar was full of familiar faces. Great drinks and prices. We ordered the filet again and it has been consistently delicious. The SIPS sauce is incredible. Great service. The manager gave us a tour of the patio and it looks beautiful. People were sitting outside but we will wait until it is a little warmer."

"This restaurant was AMAZING! The food was great, and the service was well-timed to let our group of four mingle and chat. We also managed to get there during a $10 off a bottle of wine night (Wednesday), which was a big bonus. Did I mention how fabulous the food was? Best risotto that I have even had! "Sips has easily become our favorite restaurant in Phoenixville. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The food has always been delicious and well presented. And the pear martini’s might be worth the trip alone! On top of it all, as the weather is getting warmer, they have one of the largest outdoor patio seating areas around. "Sips has an ambiance, painstakingly created by owner Fabien, that is warm, welcoming and impossible to find in many seasoned dining spots. Fabien is utterly proud of what he has created and it shows in the food, the staff and the vibe of the restaurant. In warmer weather, the outside dining space will open, and, while we have not been able to take advantage of that seating thus far, we have seen the space and it is going to be a lovely oasis for those who take the time to head to Phoenixville to enjoy it. In the meantime, the food is very good, the bar cozy with great draft beers and creative cocktails, and Sips Fabien is a charming, personable host."

"My husband and I sat AT the bar and enjoyed the filet. SIPS dinners have been consistently delicious. The guests next to us at the bar ended up ordering the same meal because it looked so good. "First time to this restaurant at 7:30 on a Saturday evening. We were warmly greeted by the owner as we entered and seated promptly. When I requested to change tables (first table for two was too small for my taste)the owner was notified by Liz our server and he immediately came over and offered a solution.
Food was delicious, nice selection of wine with modest prices and good service. I look forward to visiting again."

"An excellent experience--French bistro food as it should be. I highly recommend the various tartines (a flat french bread with various delicious toppings). I had the moule frites--mussels with chorizo in a white-wine butter sauce and hand-cut french fries. My wife had the branzino--delightful!

"Went here with a Groupon not expecting too much. We ended up here on a Saturday and chose to sit in the bar area to take advantage of the $5 martinis which were very good! Both my husband and I had one of the specials of the day. Mine was lamb, his lobster, and both excellent! "Very traditional bistro menu of my French favorites. This restaurant has a lot of potential.Escargots were fat, buttery and rocked with garlic, but no bread to soak up the garlic butter. Sorry to say, but the onion soup was possibly the worst I have ever tasted(and I've tasted plenty)-it lacked the depth of flavor long carmelization of the onions gives, the spirits added made it horribly sweet and the cheese was a skimpy perfectly round slice of who knows what, but I doubt it was gruyere. Both the filet and my mussels were tasty, with the exception of the "toast", which was stale rather than toasted, but the food was room temperature at best-obviously was in the pass for a long time. Service was intermittent and slow-all fixable issues."

"In spite of the reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. What a great meal! Their unfussy, dedication to french cuisine was a welcome change from the formal french food others are known for. Sips is not the most beautiful place we've been to but we'll go back again and again when we're looking for something tasty."

"We enjoyed Sips Bistro. We were there early Sunday evening so the restaurant was quiet. We ate at a high top in the bar which is vintage but updated. The owner/bartender was very friendly and informative; he even gave us some excellent advice for our trip to France. Great bar specials, even a BYO wine special on Sunday nights. Very bistro feel and excellent seafood."

"Our first experience here was on Valentine's Day. There was a fixed menu, so I can't speak to their non-holiday menu. I had the diver scallops, which were perfectly cooked, and my husband had lobster with a seafood sausage, which he declared delicious. My portion was quite generous, about 5 or 6 huge scallops, while my husbands' was more modest. The service was a tad bit slow, but I guess that is to be expected on such a busy evening. We will definately return, and have been spreading the word about this special dining experience with our friends."

"My husband and I are frequent visitors of Sips. We were able to get a reservation for 5:30 pm, the place was booked. We both ordered the chateaubriand with roasted asparagus and potatoes. It was incredibly delicious. The lobster bisque and jumbo lump crab gratin were great starters. We had to take home the dessert because we were full. You never leave this place hungry. We were there during happy hour and I enjoyed my favorite Peach Passion martini. You must try this place. They added to the decor throughout the bar and restaurant, it looks terrific."

"We enjoyed the food at Sips: the escargot was delicious...lots of garlic & butter, the country pate was good though not enough liver or thyme to my taste, the branzino & accompanying eggplant custard was excellent and the cassoulet also wonderful. However, the service was not great...there was a mixup with the wine and the extra bread was not brought when we requested it. The servings were huge (not typical for a french restaurant)...actually too large for me! If they can work on better training of the wait staff, I would give higher marks."

"We were there on a Tuesday night so I could take advantage of my 15% discount (public service employees) My husband had the flat bread with skirt steak, blue cheese, arugula and tomatoes. I had the filet with a potato and veggie. We started with an BBQ rib appetizer. I think that was half price during happy hour. Try the martinis. Everything was terrific. I will be back. Love this place. Love the atmosphere."

"We were a party of 3, first time there. So glad there's an option for french food in Phoenixville. It's a spacious restaurant with rustic french decor. The menu was good variety of french options to suit a variety of palates, price point is reasonable. Our host and server were very good. We started with French onion soup and salmon tartine, very good. LeBurger w/brie, great. Boullabaisse and monkfish also good. Wine list was good, just the right size, suited the menu, all French wines and reasonable price ranges. We had a delicious sav blanc and in nice glassware which I really appreciate. Had room for one dessert, chocolate banana bread pudding, excellent. Espresso martini, delicious. Next time will try their house-made pate."

"We enjoyed our dining experience at Sips. One suggestion that we have is that the bartender use the proper glass for a Bloody Mary cocktail. Ours arrived in what really is a glass designed for an Old Fashioned or a Side Car, White Russian, etc. There was very little cocktail in the short, squat glass; to make it worse, it was loaded with ice, and again, little cocktail to enjoy. This was a disappointment, but is easily corrected."
