Operated by the award-winning Big Night Entertainment Group, Empire is a 14,000-square-foot boutique Asian restaurant and lounge located in the Seaport area of Boston, just steps from the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Empire offers a tantalizing menu from executive Chef Kevin Long (Tosca, Shrine, Red Lantern, GEM, Scorpion Bar), stylized interior and ethereal atmosphere that will transport guests to another world. This ambiance was great. Feels very current and "hip".
Food was very good - The service was off the charts - good.

"Best Calamari EVER!!!You cannot go wrong on sushi options either. I discovered this place a while ago with my boyfriend and we now set aside a night almost every weekend to go here. The only thing I would say that is negative is that the reservations process seems a bit non productive as even if you have a reservation, you are still in line outside. Granted I have never waited extremely long; it just seems silly to make a reservation and then show up and have to wait in line.Oh well...I LOVE THIS PLACE !!! Well worth any wait."

"nice atmosphere to look at however the music was on REALLY loud making conversation across the table challenging. handed us a fork back to reuse for next course. wouldn't have a problem with that at denny's but not here. food was good but not exceptional. seated customers on top of each other even though there were plenty of seats. if this restaurant wants to compete with the big boys, they need a family meeting!"

"Some things are very pricey but the food I had was worth it. The steak my husband got was only OK, so for $38 I wouldnt necessarily reccoment it. The potstickers, lobster cupcakes, calamari and sushi were all top notch. Loved the rocking shrimp roll and I normally only get raw sushi. The spicy tuna was great too."

"I might have had too high expectations for Empire. I will definitely give it another try though. Went here on a Tuesday night and it was dead. The food was pretty good - portions are HUGE. The single portions of LoMein, Pad Tai and Wok dishes are plenty for one. I brought home over half my dish and shared it with my husband the next night for a full dinner. They also have a shared-portion size but I cannot imagine how large that is. The sushi rolls are a little pricey but very good as well. Quality product but left something to be desired."

"I've been to Empire several times for dinner now and every time we've been impressed with the quality and flavor of the food. Excellent drinks as well. Overall, this is one of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. This time we were seated far back into the restaurant which is much quieter and private than the area near the sushi bar (or main bar). This was perfect for my fiance and I, but definitely a very different atmosphere and dining experience than our prior trips when we sat near the sushi bar/bar. If you're looking for a night out on the "scene" and want to people watch, make sure to request a table in the main area."

"To be honest, I was disappointed with my experience at Empire. This was my second time there (first time was the second day it opened) and I am a frequent eater at it's sister restaurant Red Lantern. My first complaint has to do with the service, specifically at the hostess table. Upon arriving our table was not ready and they told us they'd call us when it was. After 20 min, we went to check in, and they informed us the table had been ready this whole time. Not sure where the disconnect was, but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to go get the guests. Second complaint, the food. We ordered lobster scallion pancakes, and they had 0 lobster. Not sure if they had to cut back on this to afford rent, but it was infuriating.I don't recommend Empire"

"We absolutely loved empire. We had bought a deal from travelzoo so was the original reason we were visiting for the first time. Lobster cupcakes are probably one of the best foods we've ever had! Our sushi, and noodle dish were delicious as well. We even received a free appetizer for being first time guests which was a great touch. A great cocktail beer and wine list - we loved the geisha cocktail and peach Mai tai. Our server was excellent along with all the staff. Decor and ambiance were also impressive. We will be definitely visiting empire again- sooner than later!"

"Empire is an upscale asian-fusian type restaurant. Maki to Sushi, with substantial entres, as well. Attentive service, excellent cocktail selection. Celebrated a Birthday and found the atmosphere and setting to be ideal for special events. We ended up putting a number of hot & cold appetizers together with a "share" bowl of Lo Mein w/chicken, and couldn't have been more pleased. Didn't have room for dessert. Will definitely go back again!"

"All food was outstanding! Prices a little high, but you really get what you pay for. The portions were reasonable to large, and you will not leave hungry, if you bring some money. The drinks are delicious but the price could come down a couple dollars. The service was even better. Our waiter was on top of his game and was very polite and accommodating. I would highly recommend anyone try this new place. Plus it is easy to get to."

"After waiting for 25 minutes to get seated with our reservation we were hungry. Our waiter didn't show up for maybe another 5-10 minutes and obviously the place was busy but short staffed. The food , once it finally arrived was ok but not worth the price or cost. The restaurant is beautiful inside but the food and service simply don't merit another visit."

"Our second time at Empire we were a group of 7, food very good, had to wait about one hour between appitizers and main course, it was Monday not too crowded but short staffed, waitress friendly but was handelling too many tables, definetly a disconnect with the kitchen, several tables came after we did, they finished dinner and we were still waiting for our main courses."
