"Food was outstanding but the service was disappointing. Had to ask for bread twice to two different waiters. Took a long time to have entree served and we were in somewhat of a rush. However, the food was wonderful."

"My adult son and I took my 90 year old mother for mother's day dinner. The front of house staff were very friendly, helpful and well versed. The ambience of the old inn, dark woods, fireplace, etc. was beautiful, but it really was too dark. It could have been a touch lighter. The food was delicious and well plated."

"Once again, the Belvedere provided a great dinner! We took my mother here for mother's day - five of us were able to enjoy a great meal. I made reservations, being that it was mother's day and they were so kind an accommodating when I asked if we could be seated on the first floor. My mother thoroughly enjoyed looking at the inside because of how historic it looks. The only issue we had was that someone came and pick up a plate of an appetizer that we weren't finished with yet, he should have asked if we were done first. Anyways, the food is AMAZING! We all shared 4 appetizers, enjoyed the petite grilled caesar salad, and not one piece of food was left on the entree plates! Thank you!!"

"We chose this for mothers day. The restaurant is very nice and the food selection excellant. Our food was prepared well and we enjoyed it. The only negatives were the parking is almost non-existant the neighborhood is not very nice valet parking would be good. The noise from the bar was loud and distracting closing the door between there and the dining room would have helped."

"A superb menu served in an elegant setting. Try the braised short ribs! Close seating means a somewhat noisy ambiance, but it's a great place for that special occasion."

"The service was top notch from being seated the instant we arrived to a waiter who was professional, friendly, well spoken, efficient and always ready to move to the next phase without being noticed. Seldom do yuo find service at this level the food, the specials, the wine and desserts were are well made, tasty, entree's presented with style and their taste excellent. Even the venison was tender and very tasty. We had a relaxing enjoyable time and it felt like we were alone although the place was full."

"We live in NYC and luckily go to many fabulous restaurants. We were so blown away and so pleasantly surprised about the food and its presentation at the Belvedere. It was delicious. Plus we were looking for a quiet and romantic get a way weekendand this restaurant fit the bill. The lighting was dim and romantic, the wine was excellent and the service just right. We even asked where the chef as trained since we have a weekend house near the CIA in Hyde Park NY. Wish they were closer to home."

"This is my wife's and my favorite place to dine in Lancaster. It has a great atmosphere, and love the live Jazz upstairs at Crazy Shirley's on the weekends. The ever-changing menu keeps it fresh, and they cook one of the best filets you can find in Lancaster County. Great service and the wine selection is top notch. Love going here."

"We've eaten here a number of times, and the last few have been a bit of a disappointment. We had a scallops appetizer, which was very good. My wife had the rockfish entree & said it was a bit bland... lacking pizzaz with no exciting flavors. I had a NY strip, which was very well prepared and very flavorful, except the chipotle au jus was not at all chipotle. Service was excellent, wine excellent, good ambience. Great bar & drinks, & we're really enjoyed lunches here. Great location."

"Great ambience!! Very good food. I had Filet ... medium rare ... perfectly cooked and very tasty as were the mashed potatoes and succotash. My wife ordered Halibut well done. It was very tasty but not quite as well done as she likes it. Great service. All in all a very good experience and good value. We will go again ... and I would recommend ."

"First class from start to finish! What an incredible find in downtown Lancaster, fine dining in a beautifully restored historic building. Romantic, dimly lit, jazz playing upstairs at the piano bar, quiet dining downstairs in the restaurant. Delicious and innovative food. Impeccable service, eager to accommodate my vegetarian preferences. We will be back!"

"My wife & I save the Belvedere for special occasions. Every year for our anniversary dinner (and a few times in between) They consistently out-do the previous experience. Our server was quite polite, efficient & genuine. As was the rest of the staff. Our meal was out of this world! I can't thank them enough for making our special occasion even more special. An absolutely fantastic experience."

"This was a fantastic birthday dinner that I planned for my wife. Our waitress was Tia and she was great! She was a clear pro and took great care of us. I rarely write reviews but I told my wife I would because Tia and the whole experience was top notch. We'll be back!"

"Parking is atrocious. They only have a few spots available off-street. You may use the travel agency's lot directly behind them when it's closed, but with even that, the total is about 20 spaces. The food was a little pricey. We got the scallop appetizer, which for $12, you got a whopping 2 scallops. Also, the entrees we got came with no sides...not even salads!! For $27, my shrimp scampi had a total of 6 shrimp. Overall, with so many other dining options available, I would definitely not go back."

"The Belvedere was the perfect place for our pre-concert dinner. The server was attentive and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is lovely old-world without being stuffy and the food was unbelievably delicious. The duck breast spring rolls were crispy and luscious and a surprisngly generous portion of two large rolls cut in half on a heavenly sauce. My husband's osso bucco was so tender. I ordered salmon and was aksed, for the first time, hw I would like it cooked (medium, wll-done, etc.) I like salmon barely seared and was able to order it medium-rare - perfect! It came with savory sauteed cabbage and a pesr and dried cherry bread pudding that was light and moist. Probably one of the best dinners we've ever had!"

"My date and I loved the ambiance, the decor, the artwork, the jazz, and the food. I have been out frequently in the last year, but few places have been as classy as yours. You blended the old building with some newer decor to create a most pleasant experience. I have already recommended you establishment to several close friends and will continue to do so. Thank you again for your quality and service. Les Zackey"

"We had a really nice evening. The food was good. The service was great. It's a really beautiful place. We came in with an expectation of being "wowed" and simply had a good time. Nothing wrong. It was a good time with good food, well attended and a really pleasant atmosphere."

"This is by far one of the best restaurants in Lancaster, PA. The live Jazz on Friday & Saturday nights is priceless. No other place in Lancaster can offer that. The service is always top notch and the food is outstanding. We have never been dissapointed here. Keep up the great work!"

"This was our 2nd time dining at the dining room part of the B. The food was bland and unexciting. In fact it was pretty gross. We had eaten there before and loved it but this time it was below par. Brushetta was soggy and my dish tasted burnt."

"We had a very good dinner. The evening, however, was somewhat compromised when a very large group in the constrained space came and was very loud.
Our server was excellent. She was helped by the other main server at the end,who spontaneously took our credit card to process when the original server was assigned to the large group. This displayed a culture of teamwork."

"We went during restaurant week. The food was good. The quantities were a little small but made up for it in quality. I would think without a coupon or discount it is pricey for what you get. I would go again but be aware it will be expensive."

"The staff was great! Although we had a server, I saw several different employees throuhout the evening who would take our plates, refill our drinks and ask us if we needed anything. I felt well taken care of and not the least bit rushed. I highly recommend this place. The food was amazing as well. There is a lot of creativity happening in the kitchen and the food was cooked perfect."

"Went to the Belvedere for Lancaster City Restaurant Week. The food was excellent but the service was poor. We hardly got a few words out of our server even after things slowed down. It was pretty obvious that she was much more worried about her tables with wine bottles on the tab which made things uncomfortable. The food came in a timely manner but we waited around for the server a bit too much."

"It had been more than several years since we had dined at The Belvedere. We were never disappointed in the past, and weren't this time. Being First Friday, it was a very busy night downtown. Fortunately, our table of four had made reservations. We were seated promptly, served in a timely and gracious manner, and enjoyed excellent cocktails and food. My husband and I shared a before specialty dinner salad, followed by tuna for him and salmon for me. Both were cooked to perfection. Afterwards, we shared the creme brûlée. We will return in the future."

"Lovely evening. Everyone knew it was our anniversary and congratulated us. The server greeted us and gave us a choice of a complimentary dessert or champagne toast to honor us. The server was very attentive, polite, and charming. The location of our table was private and romantic. The food was delicious. We started with lettuce wraps and the chicken was amazing. My husband enjoyed a wild game chilli. Our main entress were both delicious. I got short ribs and he got a spicy chicken and sausage pasta. We each enjoyed a glass of red wine and shared a yummy chocolate and peanut butter mousse concoction. I look forward to returning."
