The Plaza Cafe is the top rated restaurant in Southampton according to The Zagat Survey, The New York Times , and Long Island Newsday. It has been owned and operated for the past 15 years by Chef Doug Gulija. The dining room has just gone through a makeover to give it more of a relaxing/'beachy' look and a new bar menu has been added. Tucked away behind the Southampton Movie Theater and across from The Southampton Inn it offers an eclectic menu as well as an award winning wine list along with friendly, professional service by a well trained staff run by our Dining Room Manager Tatiana Sibre. "The risotto appetizer was so amazing we ordered an additional order for a side dish. I really enjoyed my bow-ties with shrimp and beautiful spring peas...so fresh! Hubby ordered the cod...delish! Will be back for their new Bar Menu...can't wait to try the fish tacos and veggie burger. :)"

"I have dined at TPC several times and each stands out for a memorable food and wine experience. Ask of the chef to recommend a wine. He knows the wine list by heart and will help you pair the perfect bottle with your food. Best of all, they're open all year and maintain their high standards in the off season, so you can get a table and a great meal without the crowds."

"The food is wonderful and the staff very enthusiastic and knowledgable. The shrimp porcini risotto appetizer was incredible and the farfalle pasta with shrimp in a lobster sauce outstanding. We can also still taste the apple pecan cake. Definitely would go back"

"The food was outstanding and the service was great. The ambivant noise lever was unacceptable. It was nearly impossible to hear the person next to me unless she shouted. (Event the wait-person could not hear us clearly.) That is the reason I would not recommend the restaurant."

"This is the ultimate Southampton eatery for those looking for creative and delicious seafood cuisine. We have becoming here for over 12 years and the menu and food only gets better. "The food here is always gourmet quality , the service is polite, kind and pleasant.
We ordered from the pri fixe menu and the portions are the same size as regular menu. This was our third dinning experience there and as always we were completely satisfied and enjoyed our dinning experience . I will go back for more and more.

"Went here for my Birthday in February, it was our first time and a good find. Our only complaint- they need to spend money on heat. The restarant was freezing. They had one fireplace that could not heat an entire room. All the other diners were just as cold.
Unfortunately, this made the evening a bit unpleasant."

"was looking forward to dining at Plaza Cafe - read alot about it.
unfortunately, I was not all that impressed. As an appetizer I had a fish sausage.
It had absolutely no taste and I think it was undercooked, but it was so dark I couldn't be sure. For my main course, I had the swordfish special which was mediocre at best.
My husband did a little better than me in his choices. He had the shrimp and lobster pot pie which he said was good, but he couldn't find the lobster.
Overall, I would definitely not go back."

"This was our third visit and it remains a star. The menu focuses mostly on fish--much of it local and all of it very fresh. The local Peconic oysters were served on ice topped with a dollop of creme fraiche and caviar--best I've ever had! I had the just caught black bass which was served steamed in a light broth with scallions--I have never had such a fresh, delicious fish. Chef/owner Doug could occasionally be seen out and about in the dining room, making sure things were going well. Our waitress, Bari, was knowledgeable about the menu and did her best to accommodate. It is always a plus to find a waitress who really enjoys her work and is proud of the food served in the establishment. The ambience was soft, roaring fire included."
