Located in the heart of the "Fifth Avenue" in Harlem, Jado Sushi offers the finest sushi and Japanese delicacies with innovative twists, prepared with the freshest ingredients from local markets.
A sister store of popular wine store The Winery, Jado Sushi will also pay extra attention to the art of wine pairing with sushi. Carefully selected terroir-driven wines, artisan sakes, Asian-infused cocktails and hard-to-find Japanese craft beers are just some of the selection on the menu.
Whether you savor the fresh sushi at the sushi counter, or perch yourself at the full-bar for small plates with exquisite drinks, the experience will be unlike anything you've ever had before.
"My friend and I loved the ambiance and decor of this new Harlem spot. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and service was fast. The food was fresh and tasty, with a wide variety of raw and cooked food. But the highlight of the evening was the drinks. One in particular - the Passion Fruit Margarita - had a cascade of different and refreshing flavors, and was delicious!"

"Sushi in Harlem??!! After living in Japan for 27 years, I came back to my native NYC and I thought I was a bit jaded regarding NYC sushi attempts. With Jado, I prepared myself for a "nice try" experience. If Harlem is having its new Renaissance it is places like Jado that are leading the rebirth. Amazing!!!! If Jiro does sushi then Jado does Harlem - like no other place. Red Rooster?!! You must be kidding. Jado has the dining experience hands down. The drinks are original, the ambiance is inviting, the service improves with each visit and the food...served by Japanese sushi chefs who know UMAMI. You can over pay for bad sushi in so many places in NYC. Or you can do the Harlem Renaissance shake at Jado Sushi."

"I had a reservation and requested a booth- when we got there, not only did they not seat us right away,( 20min later), but they did not have a booth for us. They just sat us at the next available table. It will be awhile before I return or next time,I will call instead of booking on line."

"Have been many times and usually love it. Service this time was AWFUL. Restaurant was fairly empty when we ordered, got crowded as we waited 90 minutes for food! Of course we said something and they told us it was because the restaurant was crowded, as people who came in an hour after we did were getting their food before we got ours. The food is delicious."

"The best sushi experience in harlem and one of the best restaurants. While not strictly traditional japanese, it is heavily inspired by it with interesting embellishments that truly compliment. The food is thoughtful, unpretentious, and in just the right portions."

"Do not dine at this place ever! My husband and I went to diner at 7:30 and the place was half full. The host was nice and the place seemed great. The service then ruined our night. First off our drinks took 15 minutes to get which is a long time to pour wine in a glass. My husband ordered a tempura roll and two pieces of sashimi for his appetizer and the black cod for his entree. They brought him the wrong appetizer and we sent it back to get the one we ordered. The server never apologized or even acknowledged he had put in the wrong order. This wasn't a big deal, but when we got the right roll we still didn't get the sashimi. The bus boy was the only one to ask if I wanted another drink. I declined not wanting to wait so long for a new one."

"Although it was not terrible, there was nothing outstanding about the food, the service or the ambience. The sushi was bland. The tuna tartar was good but the Special rolls were not special. Monster sushi on 23rd St has many more interesting rolls."

"Finally a good sushi place in Harlem! This place has a great vibe and is such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. This is coming from a 5 year resident that has watched this neighborhood change dramatically for the better."

"Jado sushi is a superb restaurant. The dishes are executed and taste delicious. The service is super. It is very much worth the price for the quality of the food, ambiance and service. I must add that it's quality and service does not stop at the restaurant. It's delivery/takeout makes the mark always, even to your home out of the bag. An outstanding addition to our neighborhood. Bravo."

"There is a lot to like about Jado Sushi. Food was more than acceptable, ambiance is nice and wait staff is polite and professional. The problem is how long it takes for food to arrive at the table... Starters Amer in a reasonable time but the gap to the main course was unacceptable.."

"Well I really wanted to give Jado a flawless review based on my first visit in December. The calamari and ribs were to die for. But now speeding up to valentines day, First, they decided to create a new menu will almost nothing from their regular menu. I was greatly disappointed. The food was not good. Hope they never change up the menu like that again. It put a damper on my anniversary."

"A wonderful addition to the neighborhood! The space is pretty, the staff is very nice, and the somewhat latin-inflected sushi is fresh and nicely prepared. The best sushi in town? No. But a very nice place in a neighborhood with an increasingly diverse and good range of dining options that needed a sushi place. I'll be back frequently."
