"We absolutely loved brunch here. We ate an entire pastry platter. It was too delicious. Entrees were just as fabulous. Note: they only serve dessert at dinner. sorbet during brunch and lunch. We are going back to hit their dessert menu. My kids ate french toast and devoured it. They also enjoyed the pastry appetizer platter."

"We booked a table for Father's Day Brunch and were blown away by the food, atmosphere and service. We brought our 15 month old and were prepared for it to be disastrous but they put us in a perfect (well thought out) location that allowed for plenty of room for the highchair (which by the way was high quality and sooo much better than a typical restaurant highchair)! The food was absolutely amazing and knowing we were on borrowed time with our daughter, they brought the food out quickly and were attentive the entire time. We will be going back at least a few times a month and have decided it is our new favorite place!"

"We enjoyed Father's day brunch at the Cask & Larder. Items we enjoyed: Southern Mam grilled cheese and Nashville Hot Chicken. But, the best were the bakery items: "Cronuts", Banana Pudding eclairs and Dark Chocolate Red Velvet ring dings ! Brunch was almost ruined by the over abundance of cranky toddlers that other patrons brought with them, but luckily we finished our meal before things got noisy. Leave your very small kids at home - there really is not much for them at this restaurant and you ruin the experience for others that can realy enjoy it."

"This was our third time dining at C&L. Always a surprise to see what is on the menu and as always, amazing, fresh local food. My husband had flinstone size short rib that was super tender and I had the hanger steak with a sweet and spice rub with an accompanied salad that was to die for... As always the dessert did not disappoint, the hummingbird cake was moist and the icing I could lick a whole bucket. We always have the ham plate to start, we enjoy their homemade jelly, ham and biscuits. Really a gem in Orlando, we will keep coming!!!"

"I loved the food -- everything we ordered (oysters, red snapper, grouper cheeks, squash blossoms) was excellent. But our dinner on a Thursday evening (early -- around 7pm) was not nearly as enjoyable as it could and should have been because the noise level was extreme. We had to raise our voices quite a bit in order to engage in conversation over dinner, and had to ask the servers to do the same so we could hear them. Seemed like everyone in the restaurant was yelling just so they could be heard, and all that yelling required everyone to engage in even more yelling. They really need to do something to make the place more acoustically conversation-friendly."

"I really wanted to like this restaurant. The menu looked really good with lots of interesting choices. Nice interior. Service was good. But the food that was served was very inconsistent. The scones and Southern fish fry were quite good. The semifreddo and cookies dessert and the homemade ice creams were outstanding. But the fried chicken was truly awful - the crust was soggy and chewy and actually tough. Rest of food was average. Some of the interesting combinations simply didn't work on the plate. The wine list had what appeared to be unusual and interesting selections, but both of the red wines we tried were not good (house wine and a cab franc.)"

"This restaurant is fabulous! My cousin, who is the biggest foodie I know, begged me for months to go. The menu is locally sourced, so it's not always the same old same old. We had ribs, quail, lamb, and the biggest pork chop I have ever been served. The sides we ordered were of good proportion and reasonably priced. Dessert was to die for! Go there and enjoy yourself, and revel in the great service."

"I had been dying to go to Cask and Larder since it opened and finally made it there in March. The food was amazing. My husband tried the flight of beers and he wasn't disappointed. They have good southern cooking with a new age flare. Loved every bit of this meal!"

"Cask and Larder bills itself as upmarket southern food, but it doesn't do the basics well. The softshell crab was tiny--almost no meat--in a heavy cornmeal breading. The chicken was dry and also in an overly heavy breading. Two highlights were the potato salad in a light, flavorful mayo and the corn on the cob.
The service was overbearing. Our conversation was constantly being interrupted by multiple people to ask how we were doing"

"Love this place. Great, ever-changing menu, with locally sourced selections. My boyfriend moves the beer flight too. If you go, try the Mac N Cheese, which is perfect for sharing, as are most of the sides! Décor is fresh, clean and uncluttered. The bar is very fun, and can get busy later into the evening."

"Overall impression: Very good food-Over-priced! Would not make this a weekly or even monthly visit - to pricey. Let me say this.....we are not opposed to paying a fair price for good food and dining. Have dined in some very esquisite and high end establishments (Restaurant August, New Orleans; Oakroom at the Selbach in Louisville) so we are familiar with fine dining and reflective pricing. The folks at C&L are quite proud of their fare and the prices reflect as much. The trout was the best value - very good portion and flavor. The lamb came luke-warm. Did not make a fuss. Still it was very good, but again, over priced. Save your $$ on oysters-six small ones for $13! YIKES! Pimento cheese appitizer was great."

"This was my second time at Cask and Larder and it did not disappoint. Every course was amazing like the last time I was there. I love that they update the menu every day based on what they have in stock at the time. Also the craft beers change based on what they have brewed recently which gave variety in the drink department. Only downside was the complimentary valet being absent and not getting seated until 5 min after our reserved time."

"My husband and I went here for dinner on my birthday. I love coming here because their menu is so different and yet each dish they create is so tasty! We had the ham "flight" appetizer (delicious!) and my husband had the quail and I had the smoked leg of lamb, both meals were amazing and each of us found ourselves loving things that normally we don't even eat! The flavors really complimented each other that well! Also, the server found out it was my birthday and comped my dessert which was very sweet of her. Diners should be aware that portions are rather small, even for dinner entrees but the upside is that the a la carte sides are big enough to share. Also service can be a tad lacking when it comes to drink refills. Overall, oustanding!"

"Great food and great beer, but I'm a little disappointed with how many parents bring their small children here. (NO fault of the restaurant) I've eaten here several times at different times of the day and have had to hear more than one small child banging spoons on the table and plates. Will probably sit at the bar next time."

"Our reservation was for 1800 hrs and we were seated within minutes of our arrival. Jessica was our server and also showed us to our table. She appeared to be very knowledgeable regarding the menu items and was very attentive to our table as well as the others she was taking care of. My husband ordered the snapper and it was very tasty. I ordered the trout and that was quite tasty as well. Before the entrees came out, I enjoyed the frisee salad and will more than likely have that again on another visit. We both enjoyed dessert of peach melba and moon pie."

"Nice pub, good design - very comfortable and cool looking. I had the Charred Canaveral Shrimp, couldn't even tell you what my husband had as I was way too busy enjoying mine! It was amazing! Oysters to start which were tasty. And then the Moon Pie, did NOT need it as I was pretty full, but it looked too good to pass up. It was delicious and could definitely have served two. Meal sizes were appropriate, not too big but not too small. Service was very friendly and personable, nice noise level. If we lived in Orlando we would be there at least once a week......"

"We were very pleased to get away from the more tourist areas to try Cask and Larder. Nice wine and beer list, well curated menu which really is a great example of modern / elevated Southern cuisine. The restaurant is easy to find off I-4 towards Rollins College and the menu is very well balanced. We had the country ham crostini, which is more akin to a prosciutto and frisee salad on toast points which is a refreshing starter. For our main courses we had the trout and the fried okra and cheesy grits were a great complement, we also had the pork belly which was crispy and tender, we appreciate the deft hand at executing the dish, which was very well balanced. Save room for the humming bird cake and peach melba."

"This was our first time at Cask & Larder. The service was fantastic...The ambiance was very nice too. However, the food was average at best. I had the eggs benedict. For some reason, they felt it necessary to put 5 or 6 HUGE lettuce leaves on this dish. Definitely NOT worth the $14 price. My husband had the vanilla pork belly. He was hoping for a sweet and savory dish, but it was completely over-the-top sweet. The bakeshop on a board was good, worth getting for a party of 4. The cocktails were also good, but I felt extremely expensive. Over all, I don't think I could recommend. Our party of 4, each only having one drink, as well as coffee, had a tab of $180. For BRUNCH."

"We had Mother's Day brunch with my wife and in-laws. The food was excellent and everyone loved what they ordered. I had the duck confit and it was excellent and a pretty large portion compared to some of the other dishes. The beer is excellent as well and their brewer seems to have dialed in some recipes since my last visit. If you are near Winter Park, are a goodie, or are a craft beer geek I highly recommend dropping by this restaurant."

"As some of you know, Cask and Larder has a seasonal menu. Along with the Spring comes lamb. Cask and Larder's take on it is exceptional. It has a lightly smoked grilled flavor. There is a nice crust on the meat from searing and the meat medium rare to medium and very moist. Maybe I should call it succulent. I would whole-heartedly recommend their Smoked Leg of Lamb to anyone that even thinks they might like lamb. It is a carnivore's ideal dish."

"It was our first visit and my husband's birthday. We loved the evening. The restaurant makes everything on the premises, even the beer. He tried several full-bodied brews and ordered grilled quail for an entrée: moist, delicate, divine! For starters, I ordered the oyster gumbo and house white wine. Only 3 small oysters in the bowl but the spicy, rich, southern flavor held my interest. Would order it again! My entrée was the Frisee salad with lots of textures and colors - delicious! Cuisine is southern with a creative, adventurous twist. This restaurant is another winner! Love the architectural design and features within. Sat at a high-top overlooking the goings-on. Service was slow at first and then attentive. Will go back often. Enjoy!"

"Let me start out by saying I love the Ravenous Pig. Maybe it was unfair to go to Cask and Larder expecting it to be as good as it's sister establishment. The restaurant is lovely. The staff are friendly, but not as attentive as one would like. The Saturday brunch menu sounded divine, but the food did not live up to it."

"I've been to C&L at least ten times since it opened last year. It seems like I enjoy it a little less each time. Don't get me wrong, it's still very good but there's something missing from making it a great dining experience, a professional and engaged wait staff. Our server last night performed as if she were working at Chile's - she reached across the table when she should have walked to the other side, she failed to offer the breadsticks that were being brought to the other tables, her descriptions of the entrees did not match the flavors of the actual food and she just didn't seem to be very interested in making our dining experience special. Afterwards, everyone in our party agreed in may be time to take a break from C&L."

"We were a group of 4 and everyone thought the menu unusual and nothing really appealed to us. Too much "weird" stuff. Everything we ordered, from the shrimp, to the pork chop, to the mac 'n cheese, were just so-so. Normally, we would give a restaurant at least two experiences before we write it off our list, but we do not plan on going back to this restaurant for a second try. They spent big bucks fixing up this place; the decor was very nice, but unfortunately the food left us cold."
