Tabella at Clear Creek is the culinary brainchild of entrepreneur David Skinner and Executive Chef Coco Hogue. David and Coco wanted to create a beautiful and intimate restaurant to compliment Clear Creek Winery and Resort. What transpired from a simple idea has guests raving about the modern food, intimate atmosphere, and of course the award-winning wines.
Tabella features an ever-changing thematic menu drawing inspiration from the bounty of the seasons. Tabella’s own gardens and farm provide the restaurant with a seasonal harvest of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and eggs. Working with personally selected farmers, ranchers, cheesemakers, and fishermen Chef Coco creates three to seven course dinners using only the freshest and finest local ingredients. In addition to the chef’s tasting menu guests can enjoy an inventive selection of small and large plates featuring organic local meats and seafood as well as vegetarian and gluten free dishes.
"Though the restaurant is small and only houses about 26 people, the food is OUTSTANDING. everything on the menu is delicious, and the fruit-infused wines made on site are delicious. this was an amazing departure from our normal chain restaurant-ing, and well worth the prices on menu. reservations are pretty close to a must, but they are well worth any wait you may have in making them. the chef even greeted us at our table, introduced herself, and thanked us for coming out. we will definitely be back in the future."

"This place is very nice. Small inside area and wonderful outside dining area. Food was remarkable. Innovative, great flavors, perfect potion sizes but not too fussy. I recommend it."

"We went for a special ladies' night event. It was a fun evening on the patio painting wine glasses and eating appetizers and wine. I was introducing the place to a friend. She had fun and will return to eat a meal in the dining room. I really like this place. The chef, Coco, is a sweetheart."

"The food was excellent but the portion size was tiny. If I didn't have a groupon it would not have been worth the price of the tasting menu. The regular menu was even more costly. Would recommend going when planning to spend a bundle"

"Tabella was a refreshing surprise. I am not much of a wine drinker but since they make their own wines I had to try it and was very pleased.I had a tropical themed wine that was great. We then ordered the cheese plate which needs a little work but was decent. Next we had the three course tasting menu which started with a salad. My Cesar salad tasted very fresh and flavorful using kale was a nice touch. My wife had the garden salad which also was excellent. For our entrees I had crab cakes with seasonal veggies. Crab cake actually tasted like crab not a ball of breading with a little crab. My wife had the chicken which although it was a little small had a great flavor to it. We finished off with a canelle for desert and it tasted home made"

"The food was fresh from the farm and cooked to perfection. The chef came to our table to make sure everything was satisfactory. The wine selection was awesome. We will be a returning customer in the near future and bring our friends. Thank you Chef Coco for a romantic evening with my husband."

"This might be the only farm-to-table restaurant in Kemah but it worthy of a Houston or Galveston drive for sure! On a recent visit to Kemah, partner and I were seeking something off the boardwalk but still centrally located near the charm of Kemah. Originally attracted to Tabella by association with Clear Creek winery (also occupying the same building) but on next visit will skip the winey and head straight to the table. The food was simply outstanding; dish after dish superbly combined fresh ingredients, seasoning and expert cooking to deliver mouthwatering delights. The chef visited our table twice!"

"Food was amazing! Very flavorful yet not to rich or over bearing. The pumpkin ravoli is to die for! only dish we didnt care for was their Shrimp Diablo. Chef was very pleasant. Dining area was small, seating was very close to each other. We did not like that so we sat outside on the side. If would spruce up the side it could be very pleasant to sit outside and eat. They need to work on putting it all together and combining their taste room, outside and restaurant in a more flowing matter. Tasting room could be so much more. You need a new server in your tasting room. He new nothing about wine. Told him we had never been ther before and wanted to know "how it works". He gave no information"

"My wife and I did the three course tasting. My chicken was a bit underwhelming, but our kale salads, her shrimp diablo, desserts, and wine were great. We're definitely coming back for the full menu experience."

"Thought about giving this spot a bad review to keep the crowds at bay, but just could not do it to a staff that deserves the best rating...keep up the good work. A little bit of Napa in Seabrook."

"So my first review of this place was less than stellar. After it was posted, the Executive Chef Coco called me to apologize and asked of we would give her another chance. I could tell that she was sincere in telling me it was a isolated event. My wife and decided to give them a second chance and they completely "WOWED" us. Our server Rachel knew the menu and what wines would pair well, knew all about where the food and wine was sourced and educated us on how it was prepared. Coco also came out and sat with us to go through the 5 course meal to suggest different entrees that we might have overlooked and to find out what our favorites might be. The meal and wine pairings were exceptional and we already know who we are going to take next!"

"Took 3 hours since they were also doing a wedding reception and also ran out of dinner entree. Needed an additional server. Food very good with nice presentation. Server friendly. Wines-good selection. Was able to sample wines."

"A great escape from noisy restaurants. The 4-course meal was excellent with the pairing of wine for each course. Two thumbs up for Chef Coco for making a truly enjoyable evening!"

"Overall we liked Taballa's. The crab cakes were exceptionally delicious. We would go back just for those! Our snapper fillets were perfectly cooked but I would have liked a little more seasoning. Our guests had to have their meat entrees re-cooked to get it right. Cocoa is friendly and engaging and a talented chef. we appreciated the complimentary port wine at end of our meal. some fine tuning is needed in the service."

"What an adorable place. There was a bit of a snafu with our lunch reservation, but they comped us handsomely. We tasted a number of wines and a enjoyed sumptuous meal. The diablo shrimp was excellent, as was the bacon wrapped asparagus. There is quite a bit of bacon on the menu. this is a farm to table restaurant and is reflected in the quality of the dishes. The service was impeccable. They are very proud of their establishment."
