"Such a great night! Our waiter was well-prepared with recommendations (although the salt-crusted snapper was sadly sold out) - and we took much of the advice. Starting with a BLTA salad (featuring 3 wedges and very thick bacon and avocado slices (and heirloom tomatoes), it was a good beginning. My girlfriend splurged on the Lobster Pot Pie (a Mina staple that comes in at Market Price) and she could not have been happier. I had the Bacon-Wrapped Trout, and it was very tasty. It came with a white bean casserole - so we certainly didn't need the Lobster Mashed Potatoes we added as a side - we had plenty of food without it. Loved this place and would return in a heartbeat - as we LOVE all of the Mina places at which we have eaten."

"This place is great!!! The appetizers themselves can do you in! But wait, the entrees themselves will make you tap. The Halibut was so good! (that's why I go fishing...just for the Halibut) The place was packed but the reservation helped...seated half and hour later. This is the place to go if you want really fresh seafood!!!"

"We arrived as they opened so the place was very quiet and service was fast. The food was good, but not great compared to other Vegas spots. Portion sizes were pretty small in my opinion, but everything tasted good. The shrimp and grits appetizer was tasty but not enough to share."

"It was the best meal I had during my stay. But also the most expensive! The dining room has an open kitchen with a view of the grill. Interesting to see the food being prepared but the glass separating you from the fire doesn't keep out the heat! Dress lightly!
Hubs had the Rib Eye. IT.WAS.TO.DIE.FOR. I had the Wreckfish. Very good. Steak won the day. We also had "gratin tops"-- the BEST part of the potatoes au gratin--the crispy, salty, cheesy top part.
Our waiter seemed a little frantic, but I think that was just his batty-Frenchman charm at work. He gave us his waiter spiel twice having forgot the first time. Other reviewers complained about service. Service wasn't overly attentive, but I kind of like being left alone at a restaurant."

"Food was very good, but I felt it was a little too pricey. They have a glass wall which allows you to look into the kitchen. Our table was right next to the wall where they had a fired wood grill burning. Even thru the glass we could feel the heat. I was a little uncomfortable due to the heat, but the rest of my party enjoyed the warmth."

"An open and airy atmosphere that includes a modern twist on decor and efficiently using time tested materials in and out of the kitchen. Wood fired grills are used for most dishes, yet each entree had a distinctly different flavor. Everything was prepared and seasoned perfectly that included a beet salad, foie gras/ scallops, ahi tuna, black cod and complimented with a cheese/truffle/macaroni side dish.
The bar prepared a great martini, but the wine selection needs help as it fails to keep pace with the food, both in style and selection.
You won't be disappointed in the meal, just do not expect to fine that special wine to accompany the meal."

"Michael Minna should watch this restaurant much more closely. San Francisco cioppino arrived cold and with only 7 pieces of fish. One mussel was closed and we all know about that. As we are from San Feancisco and really know a crab Louie salad, the one served was a huge disappointment to the two who choose this dish. Bar drinks were very good but we would not return as there are many choices in Las Vegas which are more in touch with the kitchens dishes and and the clientele."

"American Fish is a beautiful and lively restaurant. We very good food and excellent service there and would recommend it to others. The menu has fish that you will recognize and some that you may have never tried before as well as several seafood shellfish selections. The corn muffins in the bread basket were delicious and the bread was good too, served with both butter and a delicious olive oil. We didn't try dessert--too full from the rest of the meal, but the selections were interesting and very tempting. Good choice if you are in Vegas, and particularly if you are going to see Zarkana, the Cirque du Soleil show in the Aria hotel and casino."

"This was our first visit to American Fish. This has to be the best dining experience we have ever had. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The staff was aware of our celebration upon arrival and took extra care to to make our evening special. Our desert plates even had Happy Anniversary written on them. From the complimentary fish tostada samples to the complimentary desert wine, the Biancospino Moscato D'Asti, it was a beautiful evening with 5 star food and service.
The food was outstanding. The fish was very fresh, the sides were incredible, and the wines were exquisite.
This was our firs of what will be many visits to this restaurant."

"My two sisters, my mother and me had a quiet and very tasty dinner. Our hostess was sweet and quite a photographer, since she was happy to take several pictures of us! We all shared the Maryland blue crab cake and field greens. I had the Bacon-wrapped rainbow trout, one sister had the California halibut and mom and the other sister had the phyllo crusted cod fish & chips, all of which were outstanding. I particularly enjoyed my white beans with pulled pork and corn bread, it went along very well with my trout. We also ordered the asparagus and broccolini. We did save some room for dessert and ordered a sampler of 4: Chocolate peanut butter torte, mascarpone cheesecake, strawberry shortcake with basil gelato and the white chocolate"

"Very nice space and layout and pretty good menu and wine list. We were seated in the back at the worst table (despite a reservation). Service was excruciatingly slow. As the restaurant filled, we were promptly ignored.
We ordered a nice bottle of pinot noir and when it was opened and served, the wrong wine glass was used despite the server having pinot glasses stacked up right behind our table. I pointed that out and that was corrected but unfortunately, he took the wine already poured into the wrong glasses and we never saw that again.
A fish dish was recommended and was not at all impressive. They were quick to suggest another dish and I appreciated their recognizing this and correcting it."

"We had the 5 PM dinner sampler menu. Everything was underseasoned and very plain and the fish bordered on being over cooked. There were no vegetables to speak of on our plate. This restaurant got a very high yelp rating which is why we picked it. We were very disappointed and would not return."

"We loved the hip look of the place but were mostly bowled over by the incredible food. The tomato bisque w/ mini lobster grilled cheese was to die for. My red snapper was cooked perfectly and very flavourful. We appreciated the light touch with seasonings that let the seafood shine through. The only hiccup would be the service. The waiter was very knowledgable and efficient at first, but as the place filled up, he was hard to find and our empty plates sat in front of us for quite a while.
Overall, I would highly recommend American Fish!"

"My husband and I went for supper, and it was wonderful. Friendly staff, service was excellent and best of all the food was amazing! Oysters for starters were very fresh and flavorful. The crab cake and the lobster roll were both full of flavor. In fact my husband said it was the best he'd eaten anywhere. Our entrees were amazing, he had the seafood coppinio and said it was full of different seafoods and fish and that the broth was incredible. My halibut was grilled over the fire, and I had a green salad with it. I have to say, the halibut had an addicting flavor cooked over that wood, and the salad was the perfect compliment to it. I enjoyed every bite. Dessert was peanut butter and chocolate cake with Carmel crunch Yum!"

"As noted in the ratings you can't miss with the food here. Lobster roll appetizer and the fish and chips were outstanding. Service was as expected, very good for a high end restaurant, but not perfect."

"Went to Michael Mina last year and American Fish this year. Disappointed with each place. At Fish the encrusted Ahi tuna served rare was warm on outside and cold in center. Appetizers were served to wrong diners and rushed. We were given free after dinner drinks but we were still disappointed. Highlight was somelier who called herself the 'Wine Goddess'. Despite that would not return."

"Food was very good. While the service was good, the drink list was presented to us on an ipad which I do not care for. When my pregnant wife asked for a non-alcoholic drink we were told to just pick one off the iPad because they could all be made without the alcohol (which was not correct). The server did correct this by having the bar tender make a recommendation."

"The lobster pot pie dish was probably one of the most impressive presentations I've ever seen and tasted just as fabulous...but how proud they are of their service gives them 5 $ out of 4 maximum. 2 pot pies, a bowl of soup and 2 drinks each was OVER $310 with tip! No wines, no salads, no sides and a single soup? The service was good, but after he got the drinks served, he was scarce...and at 6PM, they weren't that busy yet. I will admit that viewing through the glass into the cooking area lends itself to great ambiance. Will return, but will try to remember the AmEx Centurion card if I'm with a group of more than 2 people! Bon Appetite'"
