Opened in the summer of 2012 in Denver’s LoHi Neighborhood, Central is an American Bistro and Bar focusing on the fine presentation of dishes that draw upon the heritage of American classics. The 70-seat space is contemporary yet rustic in feel and has been carefully curated with both modern materials and vintage neighborhood finds. The patio and bar offer an unmatched view of the city's skyline, and the restaurant is open five days a week for dinner and weekend brunch.

"My family and I came here for their Mother's Day brunch and we have plenty of reasons to come back. Central offered a buffet on Mother's Day that had some of the usual breakfast items (eggs, house fries, bacon, sausage, waffles) and some lunch items like hot deli meats and salads. What has us coming back though is the barley salad that was to die for, the mixed green salad with a light vinaigrette, the made to order omlets, and the amazing selection of bourbons and whiskeys. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the liquids and even some of the little decorations placed in the drinks! (Like the cherry in the manhattan drink) Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back to try their usual menu."

"We went to Central Bistro for the first time on a Sat. night. First, let me say the food was fabulous. I had salmon with a citrus fennel salad and my hubbie had the steak. Excellent presentation on both and outstanding flavor. I loved the decor--urban chic---and the HOT sign above the kitchen ( check out the cute explanation on the menu). There was a fun feel, we were there around 7ish. However, by the time we left around 8:30 it became so energetic (read: Loud) you couldn't hear yourself think, let alone talk! We were literally having to shout at our friends sitting across the table from us. I love this place but I think they need something to buffer the sound a little bit which is why the 4 stars not 5."

"It was our first time to Cenral Bistro and we thought everything was great. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. We had the pork cheeks and bread pudding for appetizers and both were delicious. We couldn't decide on a favorite there. For dinner we had the pork loin and the steak. The pork loin was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The steak was a bit overcooked but still had nice flavor and the potato gratin that came with it was very good. For dessert, we tried the sweet potato cheesecake which was just the right amount of sweet. We had a table by the window, which gave us a great view of downtown Denver as well. Overall, it was a really nice experience."

"My wife and I enjoy trying new restaurants, I must say; however, that the Central Bistro was a major disappointment. We took a friend there for dinner. The noise level was so high we could hardly hear each other. The food was just not good and the menu--although one that tries to reach for new combinations and flavors--which we do like--was more like the rejected recipes from a menu mill. This place probably has a future as a bar--as long as you don't want to talk to the person you are with. Don't bother with the food!"

"Our dining experience was exceptional from great food; our main course was chicken and steak done to perfection. To a great view of the city it doesn't get better. Except when you add in the service which was unbelievable not only did the waiter do his job but we were also visited by the manager and to top it off the owner came by for a visit. "We went for Easter brunch so I can't speak to the normal menu/service. There was a good selection for the buffet and the food was replenished. Decor is chic but the HOT sign is annoying and I assume it's even worse at night. The staff was accommodating and let me add an extra person to our party a week out, turned out not to be a problem as the restaurant was full but there was never anyone waiting. Our server made sure my bottomless mimosa was regularly refilled. Overall it was a nice brunch for the price but nothing special to make me want to come back."

"This was our first time dining here. We just moved to West Highland area and saw that this place had good reviews. The atmosphere was great. Nice unobstructed view of downtown and not too noisy. Valet parking was a big plus! The food was just average though. We had the grilled octopus which was unique but not something I would order again. The pork belly was kind of dry as well. The best dish was the mac and cheese. Great flavor but not too rich. If I had a choice, I would go to Linger or Root Down before I come back here."

"This was our third trip to Central Bistro and Bar (which tells you something) and it was, as always, excellent. Service was attentive, the pork and the chicken were delicious, and I really loved the grilled baby octopus appetizer. When it warms up just a little bit more, I'm going to sit out on the patio, which was hopping even though it's mid-March."

"My wife went there with two of her friends for dinner. The food was very good, but the server did not inform them that it was Happy Hour, nor did they get any break on their drinks. They found out about Happy Hour Tuesday as they were leaving, when they overheard their waitress informing another table. The service was slow, but the atmosphere was good and the food was very good."

"I chose this restaurant not knowing anything about it, just that it was Restaurant Week and the Lo Hi neighborhood is a lot of fun.
My friend and I were impressed every step of the way. Having arrived early, my friend was directed to a comfy, fun bar area. Upon my arrival, I met her, and was greeted promptly for my drink order.
When we were ready to sit, the hostess sat us at an amazing table with views of the room and skyline beyond.
Our waitress and extended wait staff were beyond nice, friendly, down-to-earth & PATIENT. The waitress helped us choose a nice bottle of wine and offered a few tastings beforehand. Our meals were delicious, from the setarter, to salmon entrees, to pots-de-creme dessert. I couldn't be more pleased!"

"Had heard it was good, so tried it out during Restaurant Week. So glad we did! The dishes start out as straight-up bistro food, then are twisted with unexpected flavor combinations and textures. The final results ranged from very good to outstanding, depending on personal tastes. Like classic french bistros, this american bistro uses expertly prepared sauces to finish off and add balance to a dish. But their sauces go beyond the classics with creative flavor profiles & combos. Good wine choices by the glass. Servers were engaged, helpful, & prompt."

"This is by far the most impressive new restaurant in Denver. "Already planning a second trip to Central over Mother's Day with my mother-in-law. Went here with some friends and got to try a little bit of everything on the menu while sitting right next to the "hot" sign near the kitchen - which was fun. The food was excellent and appropriately portioned for the price. Great cocktail menu and reasonably priced wine as well. We are eager to get back there when it warms up due to the promising outdoor seating and the unobstructed view of downtown Denver."
