Carmelina's North End
Intimate Italian dining in the North End. Large open front overlooking all the action on Hanover St, the main street in the North End. Marble tables, brick walls, large Black and White photos of the family in Sicily. This is truly like taking a trip to an Italian restaurant in a little Italian village. The menu offers a combination of the styles of the Chef / Owner's family, and modern inspiration and applications. We are always striving to keep our food fresh, flavorful and true to our culinary traditions.

"Carmelinas was recommended by a friend (Bostonian) and it did not disappoint. A gem in a sea of great North End restaurants - food fit for foodies, but ambience too! We had a great table on a warm spring evening, overlooking Hanover street.
Service = impeccable, too. WISH they served dessert, but the great waiter recommended either Cafe Paradiso or Vittorio within one block of a wonderful dinner..."

"We went here after reading the mixed reviews and LOVED it. The food was outstanding. We ordered the Sunday Marconi and split it. It was delicious. We were a party of 6, and fit comfortably, even though the restaurant is very small. Reservations are a must. The waiter was helpful, friendly and energetic. But he was an Italian waiter at an Italian restaurant, which means that if you ask for his advice you'll get it. However, we all loved that. It was great to get real tips from someone who knows what's going on. We were here for a special occasion and were very happy."

"We had a large group for Mother's Day dinner and it could not have been more perfect! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is fun and casual and the waitstaff could not have been nicer or more accommodating to the youngest to the oldest at the table. It was so nice to have some of the best food we have ever had in the North End at very reasonable prices as well. We will absolutely be back--it is a real "neighborhood gem" (and there's a lot in the neighborhood)!"

"My husband and I went to Carmelina's to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. We had seen the restuarant featured on Phantom Gourmet and wanted to try it. We were happy to arrive and find a table waiting for us, seeing that we had made a reservation via Open Table. Our waiter was polite, helpful and attentive. It was an early dinner, 5:30, and it was still nice to not be rushed, given that the North End is always busy. I did find it odd that they did not acknowledge it was our anniversary, given that I had put it in our reservation notes. But it really was a very nice pleasant dinner, and the food lived up to its reputation. The Sunday Macaroni is excellent, you will definitely have leftovers!"

"We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary at Carmelina's - Our dining experience was fantastic - food and service is top notch! I love sitting at the counter over looking the chef's while they prepare the food. Nice to chat with them about their cooking methods. Staff in general is very attentive and professional.
This is definitely my "go to" boston restaurant."

"I was disappointed when Damien decided to close Damiano, as it was one of my fav. North End spots, but Carmelinas was top notch. We started with the mussels and calamari, and the broth for the mussels was perfect, although I think the portion could have been larger. The calamari was cooked well, and had a nice light batter. For my entree, I had the pistachio chilean sea bass, which was phenomenally cooked. The potatoes and spinach that accompanied it were also prepared really well. My boyfriend had the Sunday pasta (which he has had many times before) and loved it. Our friends loved their gnocchi and crazy alfredo. Only downside is that they only serve beer and wine, no liquor. However, the wine menu is very impressive."

"We enjoyed our visit to Carmelina's and will definitely be back again. We were seated promptly as we arrived, even though we were a little early for our reservation. Service was impeccable and courteous. Food was very good, served piping hot with awesome bread and dipping sauce. Servings were generous and flavorable. Calamari appetizer however was cut too large and a bit on the rubbery side. Atmosphere was upbeat and.cozy. It was loud, but the place is small like most in the North End. It added fun to our SaturdAy night on the town. Definitely worth a visit."

"I was very disappointed. I was not happy with the service. I felt like we were rushed through the whole meal. My salad came out before our appetizer then our dinners came on top of that. I don't recommend going when its cold out and you are seated at one of the small tables in front of the door."
