"A beautiful rehab of the Mamaroneck,NY train station had a wonderful menu that failed to live up to my Mother's Day hopes. The steak and seafood looked good, were priced like The Old Homestead, listed as aged beef...but it was not that quality except for fhe prices."

"We had a noon rez the day before Mother's Day as that was the only time we could all be together to honour our Mama. I had been there the previous Mother's Day and was delighted with the choice of different breakfast type egg dishes. The chef wouldn't budge and insisted on me ordering from the menu. We were the only table in the place until 1:30!
So, Mama and I shared burata & caponata and a burger. Both dishes were good. Sis had lobster roll and Niece had tuna tartare, both were good.

Then a crowd of about 40 came through with a first communion party. It was very noisy as the sound doesn't get absorbed anywhere and we high-tailed it out of there.

"Wait staff excellent. Food well prepared , ample, Very tasty. We, had the burratta to start, Dover sole. , and a dish consisting of chicken. pork, and sausage in a BBQ sauce, priced very modestly for this area, were well satisfied.and topped meal off with Banana cream pie, one serving enough for 2. All in all a very pleasant evening with Jazz combo providing background music."

"Don't go here without your earplugs! The noise level was atrocious - both from the live trio and from the recorded music - I couldn't hear my companion across the table. The brunch food was only ordinary; on the carvery, the roast beef was tough, the turkey dry, only the ham was good. However, the seafood bar was interesting, with plenty of oysters. The service amazingly bad - a waiter who asked what we'd like to drink brought a drinks menu then just walked away and we never saw him again. Altogether, a real disappointment."

"Food is very good. Service was deplorable. We waiting 30+ minutes for soup and salad appitizers and then another 40+ minutes after the appitizers were cleared for our main courses (which were simple Salmon and Sole dishes).
The manager then had the unmittigated gall to ask us to get up from our table within 5 minutes of paying the bill as they had "a large party coming in and needed the table".
We will not go back."

"We had a reservation and after waiting a half hour sat at what they told us was a good table. We were almost done with our entrees which were just ok and the restaurant was already so loud but to make it worse they began to put spot lights next to our table and set up for a party! Moving tables and decorating for some sort of girls celebration! We had no choice but to skip dessert because this expensive restaurant was turning into a 20 something nightclub!! Ridiculous , when you are speeding a lot of money to have a nice dinner . By the way, our reservation was at 8 and this started happening at about 915!

"I keep on coming back to Club Car mostly because I love the space. On Wednesdays thay have an amazing jazz singer performing, Jenn Jade, which is terrific. The food is getting better but the service at times is just so awkward. Also if you sit any where near the bar it can be a problem. A women had to be stopped from whistling several times and I had an 8 year old hanging over my shoulder at a banquette table when the music started. A little more supervision would help."

When asked if the menu had gluten free ( no it does not) she looked at us as if we were asking for sushi. When we asked to replace spatzel with spinach ( already a $28 dollar dish) she said we don't do that and charged me an extra $3 dollars, really!
Too bad she was so off putting , she definately took the experience down a notch."

"My friends and I had a terrific time. The food was lovely, and the ambiance in the restaurant was quite beautiful. We chose seating close to the fireplace and the band. Our waiters took very good care of us, too. After dinner, we had the best seats in the house to see and hear Merlin. I plan to dine there again on Friday night with my family. Looking forward to another delicious evening."

"The food and the restaurant were great
One major problem; i called that afternoon to make a request for desert with a candle for my wife's birthday.
They told me that it would be put on the reservation in the computer.
They never served the desert with the candle and I forgot
Shame on me but they made me suffer when after we left my asked why I ahd not had something for her birthday.
If you are going to take the request you should be able to handle it properly"

"Our empanadas were cold on the inside for our starter appetizers. They did not take them off our bill but did offer to get us a new batch. The ambiance was amazing but all the dishes were good but disproportionate to the ambiance. Would try again but not as enthusiastically. Cocktails were average."

"Club Car is a fabulous space. Romantic, fun as it is built in the old Mamaroneck Train Station. They did an amazing job in designing the interior. The entertainment, jazz trios, usually are great. The food is good, the service some times can be erratic. The pieces would not warrant going, but taken as a whole you will have a nice evening. Caveat, do not spend the money on the steak. Way overpriced for the quality of the meat."

"Would not go back because they do not honor reservations. I had read that in other reviews but thought that they must have corrected this situation or that it wouldn't happen to me. We had an 8:00 reservation and were not seated until 9:00. It ruined the evening. We were all annoyed, the bar was packed and it was annoying to have to wait in a cramped space for an hour when we had a reservation. The hostess was overwhelmed. Everyone with a reservation was angry. Put a bad tone on the evening. Would not go back which is unfortunate because it is a nice space and the food was very good...once we got it."

"I have been to this restsurant twice. Both times were an epicurean treat. Each of my food selections were absolutrly delicious. I highly recommend the escargot, which I have had twice, the little neck clams and the spinach salad with goat cheese, carmelized onions, and braised pears. I had the stuffed fillet of sole this time and it was delicious. Yhe dessert menu is great. I had infused ginger creme bruilley the last time. This time I had carrot bread pudding. Both were scumptous. The portions are also generous. And the service was also excellent. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but the ecperience is worth it. I will be going back again."

"The ambiance and the food were very good. The service was amazing. The parking issue was a bit confusing as, at night, it was difficult to know if parking was available in the train station parking lot (which it was). I was surprised to see many children there, but that was not a noise issue."

"Such a beautiful venue! The flowers, seating and bar area are lovely. Staff was professional and very friendly. Food is just heavy; portions are very large and too much butter used in everything. The best part was dessert:Chocolate mousse/warm oozing dessert was awesome. Tuna tartare was good though not very spicy. My duck was throughly overcooked, and came with mounds of risotto. I barely waded through half of it and didn't have a starter. Prices are on the high side for food and wine."

"Good food, huge portions. Only down side was our waiter was clearly annoyed with us because one of the two couples arrived 20 minutes late. He made it clear he was not happy. Had just average service. There were other waiters there who were much much better.
