Chateau Cherbuliez

Chateau Cherbuliez transports guests to an old-world French countryside and home.

Chateau Cherbuliez, named after the owners' grandmother, brings the sophistication and vision of restaurateurs Derek And Daniel Koch of DUAL Groupe to the former Limelight space in Chelsea. Partner Philippe Bondon brings French flair and wine knowledge to compliment the menu by renowned chef Todd English.

The enchanting space consists of a picturesque outdoor vineyard and garden, complete with an oyster bar, a rustic, cozy wine bar inside, and a sophisticated fine dining room upstairs. Each room has an original fireplace and plush decor, and traditional French chateau pieces with a modern touch.

Chateau Cherbuliez also offers a secret private room for events, client dinners, and fancy banquets.

"Chateau Cherbuliez is a fabulous-looking place, with dark paneling and chandeliers. It really looks as though it's in a chateau. The food is very good. There were 3 of us and all thought our entrees were outstanding. The first courses, beverages, and desserts were a little less exciting. The service was very pleasant, but also very amateurish for a place of that kind. The bar is jumping and the music is loud, so it depends on your tolerance for that noice level. The lights in the bar shelves face directly into the dining area. When the bar crowd momentarily moved, those of us facing the bar felt as though we were under bright-light interrogation in a third world country. It would have forced us to leave, but the crowd surged back."

"We had 8:15 reso's. When we walked in the door, we were the 3rd and 4th person in the room. The room is beautiful, although the lights in the wine coolers should have some kind of deflector on them as the light was direct, harsh and annoying in a otherwise well done room. Service, on the whole was disappointing. Plates were not removed in a timely manner. My party of three, one a woman, was regularly poured last from the bottle of wine.....our waitress knew the rules of pouring, but the secondary person did not and he filled my glass, then partially filled my partner's, and left our female friend with nothing. Embarrassing. Basically, just poor training on the mgmt's part. The food was ok."

"We had been looking forward to trying this place as we had very much enjoyed Crossbar (the previous incarnation). Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. It started off wrong as the Prosecco that we ordered was not available. The server recommended the champagne which, of course, was $8 more per glass. The sound system didn't work. We wanted the chopped salad, which the server told us was not available. He recommended that we get the Caesar instead. We asked if we could get the beet salad without the shrimp instead and he said no. Why?? The cocktail that I ordered was far too sweet, so I asked for a Scotch instead. They only had Dewars and Macallan. That's it?! Then, before I had finished my drink, they removed the glass. Won't go back."
