"Loved everything about this restaurant! First time here for Mother's Day dinner and we had the most enjoyable evening! The food was all fresh and delicious! The servers were all knowledgeable and pleasant. And ambience was just perfect! Made everything special for the occassion. Would definitely dine here again!"

"The food was very good except for one dish. The server was so nice and offered another dish, but I didn't want anything else. She told the manager who came over and was also so sweet and took off the price of that dish. This was excellent customer service."

"We appreciated our request for a table "in a corner away from the din" (we're a bunch of old ladies who have hearing problems). Alas, it seemed to backfire on us. We loved our setting -- very private -- and we had no problems hearing one another. However, although our wait staff were personable and courteous, we felt like we were forgotten. It took an ordinate length of time to be served. We had to go looking for someone to validate our parking. Also, although the food was quite tasty, it could have been jacked up a bit to be a bit more commensurate with the prices.
Nice job with the remodel!"

"I went with high expectations. Ambiance-mediocre, spotlight in ceiling seared into my eyes. Music was not ambient=was loud & conversation difficult. Not crowded so waiter had nothing better to do than to check "how we are doing?" at least 5 times during entree. Intrusive. Skimpy $12 charcuterie plate w/salami that I can buy at supermarket. Pork was good, applesauce served at refrigerator temperature. Cabbage good. Chicken good. Overall, nothing to write home about& nothing for which to come back. Now, let's get to the dessert. Poached? pear - red wine not cooked enough so harsh alcohol flavor woverpowered. Pear was so hard, need knife and fork to cut. Orange mascarpone? Ha! That was plain old whipped cream. Returned pear taken off bill"

"Adventurous menu for a hotel restaurant. It was unusually load the night we went as there was a group gathering in the bar area. We asked to be seated away from the noise and the service and food was great as usual (although I wouldn't recommend the mussels - too small and not very tasty.)"

"Some of the food on the menu was outstanding, like the mussels with polenta, other items were only mediocre, like the sturgeon (not very creative) or the green field salad (plain boring). The scallops were way overcooked - that shouldn't happen in a restaurant like that. They had a chewy, steaklike texture. The cocktails are on the pricey side ($10 per cocktail) and just don't taste as exciting as they sound. The wine list is limited to a great selection of California wines, which I loved. One of the culinary highlights are the appetizers you get on the house: Great olives and bread and thin breadstick selection. Yummy! Service was dismal. Why would I go back to this place? Love the ambiente! Such a cool place to hang out!"

"The food was amazing! I went on Valentine's Day and it was pretty busy and the service definitely suffered. 20+ minutes just to get the dessert menu! I hope to go again when it is less crowded."

"Did not know what to expect from a restaurant inside of a hotel, but glad we went. Enjoyed Valentine's dinner here with a lively atmosphere and a live band to top it off. Food was amazing - I had a filet cooked to perfection and the girlfriend enjoyed a great pork chop with green applesauce. Good wine selection and all natural, local ingredients."

"Once the live music started it was ok... Before that we complained it was too loud and they were playing medium to soft rock--loud? Inappropriate considering the average age group was about 40-60 out for a romantic dinner on Valentines Day. No candles, no tablecloths--if it weren't for the food I felt like I was at Denny's"

"Our meals were great. Loved the Live Music..Maybe because it was a holiday it took a one hour wait to get our meals. We liked the sparkling water they offered us. A bit on the pricey side but over all we will return for a special occasion."

"Pleasantly suprised this was a hotel restaurant - deserves to be in downtown Walnut Creek! Nicely decorated, tables spaced evenly - great ambiance.live music, some booths, many tables. service was prompt. had beet salad, shared but it wasn't enough, pretty presentation but for $8 expected a little more then 2 tablespoons. Partner had scallops -she loved them - I had duck confit roasted with some wide pasta and veggies - sounds alot but wasn't.I left very, very hungry and am only a petite lady.bread was served and after eating 2.5 rolls (original bread had cheese which I don't eat) was still hungry which shouldn't be the case.Everything was nicely presented. Would return only after knowing they have filled their plates a little more."

"Food was very good. Highly recommend the Braised Short Ribs. Restaurant was on 1/3 full and service was extremely slow. Sat at the table a good 15 minutes before being acknowledged. Even after ordering, service was extremely slow."

"My husband and I loved this new find. The young wait staff were trained well and very accommodating. I wanted a really small salad with my meal and they made me one and only charged 1/2 price of the cost of the small salad. The place is bright and nicely decorated. The food was fresh and tasty as advertised. I had their special quail that evening, and it was cooked to perfection with great accompanyments. My husband had the braised short-ribs, and they were fantastic. We didn't get a dessert, but defintely plan on going again to try more things. The ingredients were definitly high quality local fare--the best of California cuisine."
