With a striking dining room, fireside patios, open kitchen and three private/semi-private spaces, Le Ka has the perfect setting for any dining event.
"It is a very interesting space -- especially the outdoor portion, which is a spacious area with a huge fireplace. Perfect for our party of 8 for lunch. A few other tables were occupied, but the noise level was never too loud. The menu is interesting & the lamb sausage appetizer was a HUGE hit. Absolutely delicious. The octopus was pretty good & my branzino entree was very good, but others were not thrilled with their entrees. The burgers was really overly-charred on the outside -- they looked inedible to me. The accompanying fries were cooked in an oil that imparted an odd flavor to the fries, which was VERY unfortunate. Our waiter was PERFECTION. Not too present, but kept everything moving along & had personality."

"Previously visited for lunch, thought it was pretty good. I returned for dinner and was quite disappointed. There was some kind of loud office meeting going on in the bar area which made it difficult to talk at our table without screaming to be heard. There was a photographer doing a photo shoot for the restaurant, so every once in a while, a strobe-like flash would pop off. And the most disappointing part - the food. I had the composed salad and the spaghetti. Both were only fair. The lettuce in the salad tasted old. My dining companion had the seared Kampachi, which he said was just average, and salmon, which he liked. Chocolate mousse for dessert had good flavor but a terrible texture. But our server was delightful!"

"Had a meeting with 3 client contacts and decided to have it over lunch. Le Ka worked out great because it was close to our two offices. The noise level is such that you can have a meaningful business conversation, the food was great and the service was timely. Our waitress Jenna took the time to explain the menu and then was quick about getting everything once we had decided. Best of all we were not rushed from our table, and stayed for coffee to continue our discussion."

"Great food, so so sides and great atmosphere. Ordered the lobster roll and the ground short rib burger from the lunch menu. Main food item (sandwich and burger) were very good. Burger came with a side of fries and lobster roll and arugula salad. Fries had excess oil that started congealing on the plate. Salad had an oil dressing that was very, very heavy and had the flavor of an item that absorbed other food flavors, as in being in a refrigerator too long.
Overall food, service and atmosphere were good. Would go back."

"This was my second meal at Le Ka. Last time, the food was brilliant but I was challenged by the miniscule portions--I had to order a second plate to be satisfied. This time I ordered and appetizer and a main, and had too much! So, the increase in the portion size is a very good thing.
That said, the food was outstanding. The grilled octopus was done just right--the combination of tender and chewy with a nice char. I don't usually eat pasta, but the gnocchi dish sounded great and it was--with rabbit and exotic mushrooms. It was really rich, but delicious."

"From the first time I dined at Le Ka, the food has gotten much better. They recently secured a new chef and he is very creative. Recently, the fish special was a grilled yellow tail with a pequillo pepper sauce. The service inside the restaurant is always good, but on the patio leaves something to be desired. Otherwise, a great place to visit."

"I find the experience at Le Ka to be hit and miss. On this occassion the people I took found a hard time finding something that appealed to them. The menu has unique features which can be good for the adventurous but tricky for others. Presentation if fine. Overall quality does not live up to expectations."

"The food was phenomenal! I was not familiar with Kushi oysters but tried it anyway. We had the roasted brussel sprouts - disclosure - I hate brussel sprouts and something about the sweet currants, tangy blue cheese mixed with the potent brussel sprouts brought the best flavors out. The slow-cooked Wagyu beef short rip was melt in your mouth goodness. The mussels were tender and we devoured the bread dunked in its broth. Our bellies and taste buds went home happy! We loved the small plate concept which enabled us to order a variety of foods to share. The wines were exceptional."

"Convenient for downtown dining, and with a really attractive outdoor area complete with large fireplace and other fire features. Patio suffers from traffic noise util about 7PM but is a nice place to dine.Plenty of heaters to offset the chill and designed for privacy from street views. Very attentive staff, and the menue is unusual, however a request for a special salad was promptly fulfilled. Lots of "small plates" but a good selection of full meals, too.Altogether satisying!"

"Our experience was great, our waiter was fantastic. The food was good but I must say some of the portions where a little to big. I had the lamb and it was very overwhelming. But over all the service was great. Would defiantly return and recommend."

"Third time there (once for lunch and twice for dinner) and it's been amazing every time. I strongly suggest any of their cheese plates with wine as they come with chutney, honey, nuts, and assorted bread-delicious!!!"

"Food was very good but needs a little more thought to make it great. I had the beef short ribs with leak and potato salad. The ribs were excellent (a little fattier than expected but still excellent.) The issue was the salad. It was a hot potato salad but the potatoes were cubed and the leak was cut lenthwise. This made it hard to eat together. If both had been sliced and layered it would have been much better. Overall, this shows promise but still needs a little work."

"We've been here a number of times. The menu is constantly changing and always has some exciting things on it. We have a favorite server, Nogen, who is always upfront about recommendations and he has been spot on when we order based on his suggestions.
I always enjoy coming here and can't wait for summer so we can eat outside there again."

"Specatular service, very respectful servers. Amazing romantic setting in downtown LA (albeit without a skyrise view), great heated outdoor tables, parking is $7 valet (entraonce on Flower). The food was excellent, very well prepared."

"EVERYTHING was fantastic. My clients were thrilled with our lunch. The wine choices are amazing. I had the sea bass. It was to die for!!! One of my clients had the Bravett...spectacular. Also, the seared albacore was DELICIOUS! I guess you can tell I had to taste everybody's entrees. I will be back! Thank you."

"The atmosphere of the place is fabulous but the food lacks the same. Ordered the Albacore Crudo which comes with avocado, cucumber, radishes and shallots - was OK but not great. The grille octopus salad was cooked also just OK, the octopus just right and not chewy. The country style pate was very good - B+. For the main course we ordered a steak that was suppose to have a wine sauce. Although the steak was cooked as we like it (although we were not asked how we liked it) the sauce was bland and not very exciting. I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to any of my friends. Sorry folks."

"The place is all looks and no substance. We were all quite disappointed overall. My family and I were there to celebrate a birthday. The service was fair, at best. We had to wait at least 20 minutes between our drink and appetizer orders. A few of us had the Prix fixe menu, which was nice, but we had to remind our server and the bust boy to bring out the desserts. We were disappointed with my escargot appetizer. The gnocchi was tough, as if they had been microwaved before they poured on the pesto sauce. One of the guests had already finished his entree when they brought out his side order. No timing on the service. We felt as though were eating at a newly opened restaurant."

"Tried this restaurant for Dine LA. The food was good, not very imaginative, where I have had these dishes before in other restaurants. The service was really lacking though. We were there at 5pm and very few people in the place, by the time we left at 6:15pm, there were more people but not near capacity. The waitress took our order but hardly checked in with us. It seemed that a bus boy served us the courses. We were never asked if we wanted bread, our dessert was brought without a word and no one asked if we wanted coffee. I asked for coffee but it never came."

"Nice vibe, great service, but the food was pretty disappointing. Although properly cooked and quite flavorful, the portions were so undersized it was humorous. You can't make up with fancy presentation that the salad was at most 4-5 modest sized bites. I would recommend this restaurant only if you aren't very hungry. I left the restaurant desiring more substantial food."

"So I have never been to this restaurant and book a business lunch. I walk in and the place is absolutely beautiful. Except one issue. Honestly, it is too loud to have a business conversation. I asked them to turn down the music if possible. The manager came to me and kindly offered their VIP room as it was not being used. I gladly accepted. WHAT A CLASS MOVE. I really appreciated the gesture. We had a great server who was professional and attentive. I would definitely recommend the restaurant. If they would turn down the music for lunch I think they would draw a huge business crowd. Food was great.
Many Thanks"

"Classy, with a warm approach by staff. Food was simply very good, no matter what we ordered, salad, entree or dessert. This is a major high point in LA downtown. I think this gives that so-called noodle shop down the street a real fun for the money!!"
