"Visited for Father's Day. The service was very good. Our table was ready right away. The calamari appetizer was very good. Both our fish entrees were slightly overcooked. My halibut was dry in some spots and my Dad's crab cakes were very brown on the bottom. But the vegetables were done perfectly and the sauces were very good. I would try again to see if that's the way O'Learys cook fish or whomever was cooking the fish just had an off night."

"My wife and I where invited to a weekend wedding in Annapolis MD, checked out the resturants on line and made a reservation for O'Learys through open table. The food and the wait service was fantastic.The creative treatment of local ingrediant's was thoughtful and not overdone. My only critizisim would be with the reservstionist who, when I phoned and said we might 20 minutes late due to that days storm told us there may not be a table available when we got there. There were mulitiple two tops available throughout the two hours we spent dining."

"First time to experience O'Learys, although we have heard many positive comments. We had an early reservation and were immediately greeted and seated. Our server, Dana, was very knowledgeable about the menu and the off menu specials. I had a sturgeon which was done perfectly with an excellent sauce over pasta.

"After previous good experiences we were disappointed in last night's meal. The service was good but the menu and food were not to our liking - too many flavors in each dish and only one of the offered fish was even potentially local. Neither fish nor salad tasted fresh and were so muddied with herbs as to be practically unrecognizable. This chef would do better to honor good ingredients and let their flavors speak for themselves. Good fish doesn't need that much help!"

"This was our first time dinning at this restaurant, which was a recommendation by a few locals. It was ok, the food selection was OK. We were not super impressed. Crab cakes were full of Crab and not filler, which was great. But the side dishes were not that tasty. But Im glad we went to say that we went there, but dont think we will be back. We were celebrating out wedding anniversary and they surprised us with a free dessert. So that was very nice of them!!"

"This was our second try at this restaurant, and repeated our first visit. The food is excellent (and fairly expensive - $35 entrees); but not good enough to overcome the incredible noise (energetic does not begin to describe it) and the poor manner of the maitre'd. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were met by a humorless man with an attitude, who said our table would be ready in a few minutes and directed us to the stand up bar, a tiny affair about four feet from the front door. We were served by an excellent waitress. Because of the ceasless noise, we could not hear her oral listing of the specials, or conduct the most basic conversation at table. Spend your money for a better evening elsewhere."

"O'Learys remains in my mind the best seafood restaurant in Annapolis. The Starters menu was so enticing that both my wife and I eschewed the entre selections and just went for appetizers. I started with tomatoe soup, then my wife and I each had the beet salad. For my main course I had the Oysters Italienne and the Fried Oysters. My wife had the Tuna Shashimi. Both of us really enjoyed our meals. In my opinion they prepare the best oyster based dishes in town. This is not the first time we ordered just from the Starters menu."

"We were entertaining out-of-town relatives and decided on O'Leary's due to its online ratings. The crabcakes contained beautiful lump crabmeat but the potatoes and asparagus served with them were uninspiring and of modest portions. Overall the food was overpriced for the quality. The building exterior and interior could use a little freshening."

Inviting decor with an eclectic mix of Mediterranean-esque & nostalgic Annapolis nautical charm. Friendly, Knowledgable and attentive staff. A bit off the beaten path, but includes a somewhat-obstructed view of downtown. The harbour area is steps away, providing for a nice after-dinner stroll. If interested in the beaten path, downtown is a short walk away. A large parking lot is a bonus! Our meals were excellent & the presentation was pretty without being pretentious. True foodies might crave more zing. Portions are generous. The wine was perfect. We would recommend to friends & visitors. Cheers!"

"The food is excellent, it is our favorite restaurant in Annapolis where we go for occassional dining and special events. The service is also well timed, unobstrusive, and not rushed if you want to take your time.
The restaurant is cozy and has a good feel although it can feel crowded at times but it was very noisy on our last visit and we do not like to use the front left dining space as it can be especially noisy.
I have to say that they have some very amateurish art work that I always find disturbing because it is of such uneven quality and too bold for the space. I am a big fan of modern art so the issue is not style, rather quality of the pieces selected.
This does not stop us from going as we think the food is always wonder"

"We took out of town guests and kept our fingers crossed knowing they would order crab cakes. They were exceptional, as was the tuna. The grouper however, which is one of their signature dishes, was a little disappointing. To our taste, it was too heavily breaded and there were too many competing flavors and spices overwhelming the fish. Chris was terrific - he didn't over wait or rush us but was there instantly when we needed him. All in all, a great success. We will go back for sure."
