"A mid afternoon lunch before a 6:10 p.m. Astro game called for several orders of shared plates. Waiter was terrific, helpful and never hurried, albeit there were only a handful of tables at this time of day. Each of the specialty rolls and plates we tried were very good..some we liked better than others but all were good. Want a different experience with access to many many tastes..this is the place."

"As always, our experience was wonderful in every way. We have never had a bad meal, service, or complaint in the numerous visits to the Blue Fish - Bayou. The helpfulness and explanations of the menu by our waiter were much appreciated. The free ice cream dessert given my wife for her birthday (candle and all) was a great ending to an already great dining event."

"First time at this restaurant as we were headed to the Hobby Center, so this looked good. Service was questionable at best. Food was good once we got it. The waitress got our drink order mixed up and then it took a bit for the appetizers to come out. On the main entree, our friends and my wife all got theirs with my buddy getting his before anyone else. We asked the mgr about my meal and she checked and said the waitress forgot to send it in. Once I did get it everyone else was done, my meal was good. When we asked for checks they had charged all of us an extra drink and added 18% gratuity automatically when there was just 4 of us in parties of 2. Will not go back to their establishment and would not recommend"

"We had a very bad experience. Food that was burned, one meal never was delivered at all! Our water glasses were not refilled. We asked for separate checks at the beginning and when they came, he only brought 3, we had to keep asking for the other 2.
And to top it off, the bill included the meal that never came. We were there for 1 hour 25 minutes, were almost late for our theater event. The manager came over once and said but was not only ineffective, but not helpful. Not a good experience."

And if a show or theatre awaits, this is a very difficult to place to pry yourself away from. Forget the opera! My goal is to eventually sample all of the small plates. "Unfortunately we were seated at a table near the entrance to the kitchen. We should have asked to be reseated as it was extremely noisy and busy with wait staff traffic and although the restaurant was busy, there were other tables available. Also it took our waiter at least 20 minutes to bring our cocktails, which arrived when our food did. We've just moved to Houston and would try it again, maybe on a night when the theaters weren't so busy."

"This is the perfect place to eat if you are going downtown to the theatre or movies. The food is always great. BUT, since the restaurant serves small plates to share (served on big plates) and the tables are small (small square for 4 people) the dishes need to be served one at a time. We have dined here numerous times but this time they tried to bring all the dishes at once! We actually had to place some of them on the floor next to our table. Hey, Blue Fish - we love you but please - please - have your staff PACE the delivery of the plates. We ate so fast it felt as if we were racing to finish."

"It was a first time visit for me with a visitor from out of state as well. The food was delicious, the crab potstickers were full of crab and I wanted more. The seafood mix had fish, salmon, onion ring, scallops and shrimp, it was more than enough for two. There were several dishes that were shared, all equally prepared, presented and enjoyed. There was a situation where some of the waitstaff apparently walked out, which resulted in a wait and I had theater plans, however, Benjamin (whom I had greeted upon arrival) came to us, upon hearing his name called, took care of us, fixed our food to go, we paid the bill and made our venue on time. Looking forward to returning soon."

"It was our first time there and we went there before our visit to the theater. We tried several items out on the menu. The sushi was excellent. Anyone who eats sushi regularly will know this is very high quality. The tempura was good, but not great. We also tried thr stuffed jalapeno and that was also good.
