"Bien Shur met our every desire for our 10 year anniversary: delicious food, romantic ambiance, beautiful views, and smoke free. We used the side entrance located near the golf clubhouse to avoid most of the smoke filled casino. When we arrived, our Hostess sat us at a table with a beautiful view of the East Mountains. We started with the Pan Fried Jump Lump Crab Cake and it was delicious. I come from the East Coast and good seafood in New Mexico is a rarity. For our Entrees, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it was one of the best fish I've ever had. My wife had the Buffalo Tenderloin and it was savory and tender. We finished our meal with a very rich and delicious chocolate cake. The service was excellent and we will be back."

"Waited far too long for any good service rating. Was over 45 minutes to get a food order in and then was told would talk a while to have food prepared, which I am good with that but do not take that much time to get an order in. Dress code does not seem to be followed. I go there for this purpose. But having gentlemen in the restaurant with caps on or shorts and basic swim shirt on loses the atmosphere. One thing to note this person received better service than we did at our table. This was just an overall bad experience this time. I have been there before but you think for the money you pay, one would get the service that is required of a restaurant of this caliber."

"We really enjoyed sitting at the top of the casino with a great view of the golf course, mountains, and city. The wait staff was exceptional and buffet selections were plentiful. The coffee is dynamite. My only issue came with the cold eggs, bacon, and sausage. However, the red chile rubbed prime rib made up for the cool first course. Looking forward to the next visit!"

"we were put at a table by the bar so the ambiance and views weren't what I was expecting. The tacky pop music made it seem that it was catering to a casino rather than a fine dining crowd. The food was pretty good and the wait staff observant of drink refills, but it's such a drag walking through the smoke filled casino to get to and from the restaurant elevators that I probably won't bother going back."

"We had a wonderful evening at Bien Shur. It is at the top of the hotel complex of Sandia Casino and we were given a table in the Lounge so we could have a window view. (There were none left in the Restaurant part and we were given that choice.) The food was excellent as was the wait staff. The only complaint is that we were not warned there would be VERY loud live music in the Lounge which started before we were finished our meal. We might have chosen to eat in the Restaurant section which looked to be far enough from the Lounge to not be so loud. Other than that, it was a perfect evening for our anniversary dinner."

"I have heard good things about this restaurant but I didn't experience it. Probably because they were overwhelmed with prom groups. Our server was very gracious and did all the right things to make sure we waled away with the right impressions so we would come back. Kudos to him."

"We started our evening in the bar which was lovely, the views were amazing and the service was superb, the bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. Then we moved into the dining room, it was our anniversary and I had asked for a table with a nice view, instead we were seated in the middle of the dining room and all the shades were down over the windows, it was approx. 7pm. We started our dinner with the calamari and French onion soup, the calamari was spectacular crispy, crunchy and fresh. The soup was good except for the overly soggy crouton on the top. We had the filet mignon and pacific halibut for our entrees both were very good and cooked well but our server never came by and asked how they were, we finally saw her with the check."

"You can't deny the majestic view of the mountains with the golf course in the foreground. If you're lucky enough to get a table on the east patio, you might be able to overlook the poor service and mediocre food. Medium well steak came bloody, Caesar salad included less than fresh greens and the french onion soup must have been sitting for a while because the crouton was soggy. The high notes were a delicious crab cake and I got a free birthday blondie brownie that was wonderful and large enough to share. Wait staff and hostess need training, that's all I want to say about that."

"I took my wife to this restaurant for our anniversary. We had to wait several minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. Once seated we had to wait 10-15 minutes before the waitress came to our table. After the waitress took our order, it took close to an hour before we received our meal, while having to endure the din of a party a few tables away. My wife had ask for the meat to be well done, and it was not. The service was very poor, with the only saving grace being we were not charged for the meal after we complained."

"First time here, sat for a while before a server came to our table. It is a big restaurant, there were 2 other tables who were almost done with their meals.
Server was polite.

"A smiling and welcoming hostess as always! Wonderful bread and butter service! A charming lady serves an excellent warm bread selection with soft butter very soon after seating...a welcome salvation for my hunger. The martini's are always correctly made. The lamb was fixed properly though the serving seemed just a little small. Some confusion with the waiter about what is served with the entree. Overall, an enjoyable evening. I wish there were evening specials including fresh seafood and shellfish. I over heard the waitress telling a group the chef was too busy to prepare specials for the evening. This restaurant has the ability to move to the very next level and be the best in town and I encourage them to do so!"

"We had a very nice dining experience however there were a couple of glitches. We ordered 2 Papa Dobles for pre dinner cocktails. They were terribly bitter and nothing like they were 2weeks ago when we ordered them. We sipped them down half way but didn't order another. We mentioned it to our server and we were told the bartender thinks she forgot to add Maraschino liqueur! We paid for them and moved on.
Dinner was beautiful with good service.. My pork chop was delicious. My husband ordered scallops which were visually good but both squishy and sandy!!! He didi his best to eat 2 but was disappointed. He did mention this incident to our waitress. She said she woulf mention it to the chef. It was expensive and not exactly right"

"Service was decent. Food was pretty good but a bit overpriced for the experience. There were tons of open tables and as we walk in the host tried to sit us at the table right in front of the kitchen doorway? We asked for one if the open two dozen tables. I think it is trying do hard to be a nice restaurant but they seem to not know what it means to provide a dining experience, not just a dinner. Food was good but not 4 or 5 star good."

"It was our first time there. My wife had the salmon and loved, said it was the best she had ever had. I had the prime rib and it was a truly melt in your mouth steak. Overall we thought it was a great place to eat and will be back. You won't get out of there spending less than $100.00 for two, but for a special occasion you certainly get your money's worth"

"The food was excellent; they have a great chef. The service could have been straight out of a Denny's though. You must train your staff appropriately for the level of restaurant you want to be. Bien Shur likes to think of themselves as a high end restaurant, but comes off as a pretender. An excellent location, a good chef, and excellent wine list deserve better than a staff that is at the diner level. Bring in a manager who can train everyone appropriately. It also wouldn't hurt discouraging the loud family birthday party: this is not appropriate at this type venue."
