nines is the new public restaurant located at the River Club of Mequon, the most inclusive private club on the north shore.
The panoramic, casually elegant dining room features a fresh twist on New American cuisine that can be served as a single entree or as part of our “flight service,” which caters to a preference for tastefully composed trios of smaller plates. Nines also offers a private executive dining or corporate meeting room plus a seasonal covered balcony.
The nines’ bar features a creative but more casual menu in a captivating atmosphere along with Wisconsin’s largest Cruvinet with 44 wines by the glass. And for the kids, we have the Playdium Game Room with nearly 4,000 square feet of pure awesome.

"My family and I went to Nines for Father's Day brunch and absolutely loved it! The brunch itself was not terribly priced, I believe it was around $22/person, but the drinks from the bar definitely made up for it! The service was wonderful, it was a beautiful day outside but we were not aware that we were going to be seated outside and it was a very warm day out - half of the table was in the sun, so that was mildly uncomfortable with the sun beating on our necks. The outdoor seating looks over the pool, so if you don't mind the sound of children playing, it is a very enjoyable experience! I would definitely recommend Nines for any nice dining experience in the general Mequon area!"

"The Sunday brunch is wonderful, We have visited 3 times thus far. I have never been to a brunch that serves fresh muscles (love it). Made to order omlettes, carved primb rib, shrimp and grilled veggies and much more. $21.95 Beautiful view on the golf course and overlooking the pool. I will say they could use a pastry chef as most of there deserts are not home made, but I don't go for the deserts. A bit of a drive for us from Oconomowoc area but we will return again soon."

"The food at the nines was excellent, and on par with some of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. The wine list too, was quite good and reasonably priced. However, the service was extremely slow and was neither professional nor efficient. Even worse was the ambience. While the golf course view was delightful from the restaurant's location on the second floor, the entire restaurant had the feel of exactly what it is -- the dining room at a golf course. With no table cloths and an almost nonexistent interior design to detract from the 'sports bar' atmosphere, the restaurant felt old-fashioned and emotionless. Go to the nines for the food, but don't bother to dress up -- even after a round of eighteen."

"It was a wonderful place to my wife and I to enjoy our 15th anniversary. We were married at the Country Club next to the restaurant and wanted to spend our annual dinner out at that location. I made some special requests ahead of time and the staff made them all happen. It was truly a wonderful experience."

"Beware if you on a Sat. or Sun. Staff was pleasant, if a bit confused at times. The food was very good, with the chef obviously very creative, almost inventive. Too much ambient noise. Apparently there was a wedding party in another part of the Country Club and the band was too loud. Constant bass made the room vibrate like a shimmy machine.) About 2/3 through dinner the restaurant turned on music through their speaker system. That filled whatever void there was in the oompahpah boom diddy boom emanating from parts unknown. All of htis was distracting to say the least.
If you go for the good food, check to see if there is a band, or bring earplugs."

"This is my fourth visit and thought the new menu and dinner was outstanding. My only criticism involves the hostess who, for some reason, is never friendly.A smile or perhaps a" welcome back " or "nice to see you again" would be much appreciated. It makes a big difference in customer attitude when greeted in this way. The wait staff however, went out of their way to provide great and friendly service."

"This was our first time dining at the Nines. The restaurant is perched over a golf course and the view is spectacular. The restaurant has a tall ceiling which give ones a sense of openness and diffuses sound so that even when the restaurant is full the sound level is manageable. We all had appetizers and an entree, each plate was thoughtfully prepared and the food was very good. Would definitely return for a an encore."

"We had Mother's day brunch at the River Club. It was $29. The food was OK but nothing special. It didn't even include champagne. Not sure why it was $29 compared to their regulare brunch price of $19. They did do a good job making sure that the food was always available. It was really packed and they didn't run out of food on the buffet."

"Had 1:30 reservation and the buffet line was showing a lot of use---lots of food on linens around hot food containers and several empty containers that were not re-filled promptly. pastries were looking bedraggled and dessert selection was mostly rice krispy treats, not on par with other brunches. restaurant over- subscribed for it's capability to serve adequate and tasteful food. I like this place but this was disappointing. bar tenders were great as was our server(sorry don't remember her name)"

"We had Sunday brunch here on Mother's Day. We didn't get off to the best start. We weren't seated until 15 minutes after our reservation time. It seemed they had open tables, but were not clearing them fast enough or missing a link in communication. The ambience is beautiful, but noise level is a little high being a big room and buffet. The food was wonderful. Wait staff was friendly and accommodating. I really like that they didn't charge for kids under 5. Our whole group thoroughly enjoyed it. My only suggestion would be to serve coffee and juice at the table. If you're going to add on 20% service charge, I'd like a little more service. Having to walk across the room carrying a full cup of coffee is kind of lame and dangerous."

"We had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch at the Nines. The food was excellent and the service was good. The only thing that disappointed me was they added a 20% service charge - on a table of 3. When asked what it was, we were told it was a required charge that would pay for the staff and that if we wanted to leave a tip we would have to leave an extra one. I am in general against any automatic tip - as it is not a part of the cost of the meal but a reflection of how well your server took care of you. In general, I leave 20 - 25% for good service and above. It takes a lot for me not leave a 20% tip. I find that insulting when I am spending about 30 bucks per person for a brunch to have an automatic tip added on a small table."

"We tried Calamari and Sushi for starters and had two different flights. My fiancee particularly liked the sushi and steak. She even called it the most tender piece of meat she had ever tried. A couple times she looked over at me with a "This is super good" look. Dessert (bread pudding) didn't blow my mind, but it was good.
Our server, Julie, was personable but not overbearing. She was quick and was detail oriented with my requests for wine when the entrees were served."

I do want to say, the dinning room was half empty and the hostess yelled at me for being twenty minutes late on my reservation and said she would only hold it for 30 minutes. I understand that your establishment would have to do that in ( prime time ) which is ? She just could have conveyed it nicer. Otherwise it was wonderful.

"My spouse and I had dinner on 4/27/13. I made reservations Via open table. I in particular was disappointed for the following reasons. We were seated at table #1 which is on the other side of the wait station. worst seat in the house. Our waiter was Milun. Who appeared very unsure of himself, and was difficult to understand reference his accent. He was unfamiliar with the menu which I found disconcerting.
My wife ordered an appetizer of Sushi roll. the presentation was great. however the tuna was just a tad after its prime and there was not a tempura shrimp on the plate as indicated on the menu.. I had squash Bisque which was good. Now is where it falls apart. I ordered The happy Family Flight at $29. With that I ordered the the wine pairi"

"Overall we had an excellent experience and will come back. Inventive menu that we hope they change seasonally, and fun wine and beer menu/flights. So happy to have them on the North Shore. Only complaints: nobody greets you: 3 "hostesses" with eyes glued to computer screen never looked up and never welcomed us to the restaurant. I hate that! Staring at screen, talking among themselves including where to seat us as if we were not there. Not a fan of some of the mayonnaise based sauces (e.g. crab salad) and would prefer if food flights were more mix and match on your own instead of fixed and themed. Maybe themed recommendations and let us choose or not. Also not a fan of piped in 80's bar music into the dining room. Keep it in the bar."

"We dropped our Mequon Country Club membership several years ago and were anxioux to see all of the new renovations. The place looked great! The food was very good.
We especially loved the band H2O-OH that was playing live music. After dinner we stayed and had another drink to listen to them play a set. We loved their music. It really made the night."

"wife ordered 1 flight and I ordered a different flight. plates came out looking very nice. tuna was dry and cool, short rib was the smallest short rib I have ever seen, duck was done well, but cool, Nothing came out hot, the vegetables were luck warm at best. skip the flights and order the burger."

"Beautiful presentation but the prices are high for the amount of food. Unique approach to a tasting menu with a flight of tastes. The flights are supposed to be equal to an entre. The average price for the flight is $30. Service is poor. Waiter was spilling water on the table and seemed not to know much except he liked everything. Wine list is amateur at best."

"This restaurant never lets me down. Another great meal from the chef at Nines.
We were seated promptly by a very attentive host staff, the service in the dining room was superb, and the food hot and delicious as always. We were told that a new spring menu will be offered soon to take advantage of the local produce. We can't wait!
And did I mention the Sunday brunch? You rarely see a fabulous brunch like this anymore. Don't miss this Mequon gem."

"BRUNCH, Particularly EASTER BRUNCH WAS AMAZING! I think this is the first time I have ever attended a holiday brunch where the food was amazing, i did not feel rushed. even arriving for a 1 pm reservation, the food was fresh, hot and amazing, lines moved, there was a nice flow, service was awesome. I have been to nines several times and to their Brunch and we just love it. Highly recommend and we have already made our reservation for Mother's Day (and a few Sunday brunches in between)."

"My family and I had brunch on Easter Sunday at Nines. While the food and service was very good, we did not appreciate being charged an extra $25 on our bill. We asked our waitress for an explanation as to what the extra $25 was for and she said that it was an event charge because it was Easter. I was not told that there would be an extra charge when I made the reservations. I feel that it was a complete rip off and would have appreciated being told of the extra charge beforehand. I have never heard of a restaurant doing such a thing. Our waitress did mention to us that a lot of other customers were complaining about it."

"We were lucky; we were there on a holiday evening and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. It was a bit awkward, but the staff was very gracious. The kitchen closes at 10! So don't make 9pm reservations unless you plan on eating fast. The desserts were pre-made and microwaved before serving- cant recommend them. The main courses and wine were fantastic!"

"The brunch was delicious, but we had a problem when we attempted to redeem a coupon from the restaurants website. It was a coupon for unlimited mimosas for $12. I presented the coupon to the waiter, who informed me that they did not recognize the coupon. He also conferred with management and he said they were unaware of the coupon, because it did not have the Nines name or bar code they would not accept it. I found this very confusing, since I printed the coupon from their website. However, the waiter gave us unlimited mimosas for $10 rather than $12. A very nice gesture, but we felt badly about the coupon. The entire meal we felt uncomfortable. Not sure if we'll return."

"Another exceptional experience. We had a group of eight 4 adults 4 kids. Great food, something for everyone and the kids order, go play, eat and go back and play. After dinner we retired to the lounge for another drink and adult conversation. The service was great. Very accommodating to the kids and adults. This is definitely on our visit, eat, drink, enjoy and repeat list. Weekdays and weekends. Keep up the great work."

"The decor and service here were wonderful. My husband and I ordered two of the food flights, and were quite disappointed. Mostof the sides were either burned or tasted like like bad diner food. The scallop was fishy as if it had been frozen, and pork and pheasant were overcooked, dry, and lacked seasoning. The food flight idea is fantastic, but the execution was definitely lacking."

"While the food was very good, our experience with our waiter was less than satisfactory. He was very forgetful, and we waited almost 10 minutes after we were done eating for someone to remove our plates. After another 5 minutes or so or (forgetful) waiter came by to ask if we have received our food yet! I will try this restaurant again though, the other wait staff seemed to have their act together, and the food was very good."
