"247 Craven continues to be the one restaurant in New Bern that does not disappoint. Dishes are constantly evolving and changing based on what is fresh. The menu is small, but each dish is a well thought out masterpiece in taste, sight, and smell. This will continue to be the one restaurant I keep going back to again and again."

"Based on other reviews, we decided to give 247 Craven a try. What a treat for us. The scallops were truly the best we have ever had, and that is saying something having traveled extensively. Perfectly cooked and a generous portion, too. While there was a small problem with my salmon entree, the chef and owner immediately responded. They checked back periodically, which speaks to their commitment to service and quality. Strong, rich coffee and incredible strawberry cake combined to make a perfect ending to the evening. Without question, we will return the next time we are in New Bern. Added comments: great cocktails available, reasonable wine list, charming ambiance, attentive service and reasonable prices for such high quality."

"I really enjoyed the small, quiet atmosphere of this place (there were only about 10 tables so make sure you get a reservation if you want to go). There weren't a lot of menu items but all of them were very unique. The housemade frites (french fries) and pork belly small plates were delicious. Others at our table got the scallops and said they might have been the best they've ever had."

"Found this quaint spot in downtown New Bern. Wait staff was very friendly and courteous, our waiter accommodated us with a special request and went beyond with his service. 2-4-7 has daily specials and we tried their shrimp and grits which was excellent. Highly recommend for a quick and delicious meal."

"it was a great little spot for dinner. However, its such a tiny restaurant that it gets noisy and hard to hear the people you are with. I suggest that if you decide to go, make a reservation. If you dont like wine, they do have a full bar and make excellent cocktails. A definite must go if out and about in New Bern."

"I had the friend oysters, which were very good. But because they were put on top of the corn relish, they got soggy quickly.
My spouse got the crepe with duck confit. We thought the confit would be a sauce rather than pieces of duck. The crepe was excellent, but the portion was tiny, possibly because of the expense of the duck. A larger portion crepe, alone, would make a nice vegetarian option."

"The food, the service, and the location in the heart of downtown New Bern make this an excellent choice for an evening out. The menu is not extensive, but offers something for everyone. It's an adult restaurant, so let the kids stay home with a frozen pizza. The chef does amazing things with each dish. The care and attention paid to each dish makes for a wonderful dining experience."

"Our favorite restaurant in town again did not disappoint. We ordered Arugula Salads and Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps for our appetizers. They were both delicious. The one thing I would suggest is that there used to be an Arugula Salad with Beets, Goat Cheese, and Pecan Vinaigrette which we all agree was better than the current offering. I ordered a fantastic rib eye that was cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce, mushrooms and potatoes. We ordered two specials that had Grouper, Clams, and some vegetable puree. Two of these were ordered. One said it was outstanding; the other said it needed more seasoning. Specialty drinks and Strawberry Cake were great add-ons. Despite minor problems mentioned, we will definitely go back again."
