"What a great find in Midtown! I asked for recommendations from the server and he recommended the chicken. It was so tender and moist. My friend had the scallops and she really raved about them. The drinks and coffee were also wonderful. We hope to return soon!"

"Prices charged are excessive given the very poor food and poor drink quality (e.g., $15 Celeste freezer style pizza; $19 for three mediocre sliders; mojitos like punch not cocktails--my friend barely had any alcohol in her drink, but didn't want to add to the negative opinion all of six of us had, almost from the word go. Only enjoyable experience was booth itself, the only nice table in the entire place. Decor is run down, cheap looking and terrace covered in cheap plastic, except at our table, which was appropriately protected by glass/plexi "window".
I'd booked another reservation for the following week but cancelled because I will not return. Too bad because it could be very nice -- with a complete overhaul!"

"Haven was the perfect spot for a easy dinner before heading to the theater. It was not crowded at 6pm and the service was great. We felt like we were outdoors but, because it is still May and it was only in the 50's in the shade, Haven had the rooftop protected and heated. The chairs are not comfortable but it is meant as more of a outdoor space anyway. The proximity to the theater district is a plus and kept us from having to search for a cab at &:30 on a Saturday night! The tuna tartare was excellent and so was the branzino. Would eat there again."

"I enjoyed the atmosphere and location. However, we had a very large group for which the wait staff could not handle. they charged us for drinks that were already paid for. Also, when Happy Hour was about to end the waitress came over to ask to put in an order before the Happy Hour ended. We were charged regular prices for those drinks instead of the Happy Hour prices. I was not happy with the end result. Confusion over the bill. The manager could not provide all the receipts for the table showing what was already paid. Since there were no receipts we were being double charged. It was an enjoyable night till the end when the final bill was provided and we all disagreed on the total number of drinks that were on the bill."

"We were sat at a table located in the middle of another event going on. There were people milling around behind us and a woman speaking on a microphone, making it hard to have any kind of conversation. Additionally, when we arrived, another group of 2 was waiting for a table (no reservation) and were sat up front in the corner - away from the event. While we were moved to this unfortunate area even though we had a reservation."

"Went there for supper with my partner for her first trip to NY..we chose Haven because its v.close to our hotel and Times SQ. nice ambience and we like the fact that Haven has glass side panels that allows its customers to have a side and street view from above unlike other rooftop bars whereby u can only look upwards. We were seated facing the church so we are not too sure whats the view is like nearer to Times Sq..Despite the cold nights NY had last week, it was comfortably warm in there, just like a ski resort :-) Food choices are not bad and the mascarpone dessert was excellent!..n the service on a weekday night was considered pretty good.
Overall our experience there was v.good.."

"I was at this restaurant with my daughter celebrating our mutual birthday. It was our first time at the Haven, and we had a wonderful time. No one hassled us or tried to move us through, the wait staff was helpful, very sweet and very attentive. The decor was so much fun, and we both imagined how terrific the place must be in warm weather when you can dine alfresco. We had a couple of great cocktails, and the food was incredible. We were surpised with a delicious limoncello parfait for a birthday dessert, served with delicious coffee (which, to me, is essential.) The Haven Rooftop was right down the street from the theater, so the location was perfect. We will be back, and we'll bring friends!"

"Be sure to double check your bill. We were a table of 2 and the gratuity was included - not something I'm accustomed to in NY, but I don't dine all that often there so maybe it's something that has become common. Service was attentive and pleasant. Decor is a cute idea and it's neat to be up above the street. Portions are adequate, but by no means big."

"Good but the reserved tables are right in front as you walk-in. I just wish the reserved tables were a bit more private and not by the hostess stand and kitchen window. Way too noisy and intrusive. Not a good set-up for that."

"Pleasantly surprised by this rooftop. The rooftop is located on the 10th floor of the Sanctuary Hotel. From the moment you walk in to the hotel itself you are blown away by the decor- I never even knew the hotel existed! We were greeted by a smiling host and a manager who walked us to a nice (what they call) cabana. The food was great and the drinks were strong. The manager Katrina went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We tried their ski shot and even saw snow that they blast from machines they've placed inconspicuously throughout the outside tenting. Fun ski chalet theme cant wait to return in the summer when the tent comes off but Im sure I will be back before then."

"This was honestly the worst experience ever. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday because we were staying at Sanctuary, which that in itself was a fantastic experience. It's a beautiful, elegant hotel and Haven was the complete opposite. While I don't necessarily mind La Bouche blasting, I don't want to scream over her songs to talk to my boyfriend. We went at 6:30 and the place was empty. There was no reason why the servers should have forgot about us multiple times. The food was okay, nothing to rave about but the worst part about is that for our appetizer, we weren't even given plates! Finally, at the end of the meal, gratuity was automatically added to the bill, probably because the server knew how badly her service was."
