"I can't believe it took me so long to try this place. The service and atmosphere are great and the food is amazing. I will definitely come back again!"

"We had flet mignons which were perfectly cooked, some fries and the potato gratin and sauted spinach. All were excellent. Good quality and well prepared. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The only issue for me is that it is loud in there and depending on where you sit (we were next to a group with a loud mouth) the noise level can get to be a bit much. Over all - great food in Jackson."

"Nothing to be excited about. The Chicken Marsala was overcooked and the sauce was not distinctive. Menu lacks a vegetarian entrée; my companion had to special order (the pasta with sausage minus the sausage, plus vegetables). In this day and age, I'm amazed they do not offer 2 or 3 vegetarian meals, even in the off-season. It was relatively quiet which is rare in Jackson; I don't know if it gets noisy when busy."

"The bar is obviously the place to be here. Drinks were excellent, wine list was so-so, however the food was either very salty, very sugary, or both. Had the lamb shank and it was very over cooked with a sweet-salty sauce that was overkill. Ambiance was great thought and our server did a nice job."

"Our experience at Local was outstanding. Our server was terrific and supported our desire to order a lot and share it all family style (there were 6 of us). The food was impeccable, from the charcuterie to the fries, the elk medallions to the lamb. I loved the atmosphere; it's the kind of place you can dress up and enjoy a romantic date or show up in your soft-pants for apres ski without feeling underdressed. It was the perfect setting for our silly, middle-aged, motley crew of friends-food-and-drink-lovers. Loved, loved, loved it."

"We had a wonderful meal. My husband had the elk & thought it was one of the best meals he ever had! I had the filet & it was great also. Our waitress was very informative, pleasant & knowledgable about the menu. Service was outstanding. The bar was packed with people and drinks were very creative. Definitely a place to return to."

"It was our first time at Local, and we were given a great booth in the corner, where it was not too noisy. All four of us ordered different things, and we were all pleased. Game pasta was tasty and not too large. Salads were all fresh and well dressed. Service was attentive and non obtrusive. We were enthusiastic and will definitely go back."

"We had a wonderful locally grown meal for my birthday. Shared a chartruserie plate and a filet and still took plenty home. Took our time, hour and a half and never felt rushed."

"TOO NOISY!!! TOO EXPENSIVE !!! For $44, my Kansas City bison steak was WAY too thin and over cooked. They were out of elk(the main reason for making our reservation) as well as oysters which limited the menu selections. On the positive side, the brussel sprouts were outstanding....With SO many excellent choices for dining out, Local needs to adjust accordingly(by either marked price reduction or preferably marked quality improvement) or it's days will be numbered.....I wouldn't mind giving it a second chance, but not on this trip."

"FOOD WAS GOOD, BUT, RIDICULOUSLY SMALL PORTIONS (AND I'M A SMALL WOMAN) HUSBAND AND I HAD THE BLACK COD, IT WAS COOKED PERFECTLY, BUT, IT WAS ABOUT 3 BITES OF FISH. WAY TOO SMALL OF A PIECE, FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY IT COST.
THEY ALSO SEEM TO BE VERY FOND OF PASTRY PUFFS. PASTRY PUFF CAME WITH MAIN MEAL AND THE DESSERT WE HAD WAS MADE WITH A PASTY PUFF.
THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE DINED AT LOCAL. FIRST TIME WAS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME EXPERIENCE."

"Very solid dinner, if a little pricey. Service was spotty at first then got much better. i mention this only b/c there seemed to be lots of staff in the restaurant. i work in the industry so i'm being a little nit-picky. brought a special occasion wine, but ordrd a bottle of wine off the list to imbibe with apps. charged a corkage of $20, not unreasonble. foie was expecially good. my wife had a ribeye which was perfectly cooked. i had a pork chop, a tad overcooked but i think they brined it, so it did not taste dry. all sides are extra. the sauce on the pork chop was delicious (sour cherry). Waitstaff 'auctioned' our plates when entrees arrvd. a little work on front of house and this place should be dialed."

"Local was fantastic! The food was great, especially their Butternut Squash Soup. I'm still dreaming about it. I went with my husband and his brother and wife while on vacation from Houston, TX. We had a great time, the service was spot on - not too pushy and not scarce either. We will definitely visit Local again!"
