"I cannot recommend Will more highly. Their customer service and staff is as excellent as the food. Christopher Kearse is brilliant and his dishes are inspired. I can't wait to go back again, and I can say with confidence that this is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia!"

"This is the second time that we have been to Will and it was even better than the first time. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and they sat us immediately. The service was attentive but not overly so and the food was extremely good as usual. The highlights were the Kampachi crudo for a 1st course and then the Halibut for the entrée. The chocolate bouchon cake was also pretty tasty as well. We brought a few bottles of wine and some scotch and as usual the staff at Will was very accommodating with this. We will definitely be visiting Will again soon."

"well, anniversary or not, Will BYOB definitely lived up to the hype/reviews/etc.
the presentation of food was stunning. not only were the flavor profiles fresh, seasonal and complex there was an artist's touch to everything. Many things were highlights from that dinner but I'll just mention the various preparations of rhubarb, pickled, shaved and candied and the Poulard 4 ways! thanks so much. we'll be back soon!
and the next day, Chef Christopher emailed me to hope we had a Happy Anniversary and thank us for choosing Will BYOB for such a special day! amazing! cya soon Will!"

"Wonderful and beautiful food. The fois gras and rabbit appetizer was amazing. The sea bream was wonderfully flavorful. And the service was superb. Our server was knowledgeable and lovely, and enhanced our experience. The only issue i had with Will was the noise level at the back of the room-very loud."

"One of our best meals ever (and my wife and I have eaten pretty much all over the world). Fantastic presentation, sauces, flavors. The Kampachi Crudo and Hen of the Woods appetizers were wonderful. The New Jersey Fluke and Milk-fed Poulard were near-perfect. Service was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable (we were early on a Friday evening.)"

"First, let me say that I am a fan of small portions. I am not particularly fond of molecular gastronomy, and overly manipulated food. Sadly, that is my take on Will. I suppose my most important complaint is lack of flavor. Not enough seasoning? I'm not sure. It just seemed rather bland to me. The presentation was beautiful, even stunning; but the taste just wasn't there. So sorry! The restaurant business in Philadelphia is so competitive. It is so hard for a restaurant to survive. Also, the place is small, and a BYO. It must be really hard. Regardless, you did ask for my opinion. The question we always ask after dining at a place we've not been to before is: 'Shall we come back here?' Sadly, may answer for Will is 'No'."

"Our first visit was on Easter when there was a tasting menu for $50.00. The food was well-prepared, imaginative, though the soup wouldn't appeal to everyone. The smoked butter was a treat and the meal went beautifully with the Zin we brought. The cheddar dessert selection was wonderful. The room might induce claustrophobia in those who require some space though."

"Food was excellent-we had the prix fixe Easter dinner. Creamy garlic soup, king salmon, hen of the woods mushroom for starters, swordfish & pork 2 ways-all paired uniquely with veg & light poufs of flavored mousse-mmmm. Cheese course with cured ham & dessert were wonderful as well. Coffee is great-served from your own french press. We will return to try the regular menu. On the down side, the place is tiny, so you will almost rub elbows with the table next door. BYOB"

"Will trys very hard but in my humble opinion doesn't exceed at all levels. Small menu, small place, small portions, not too cramped, and not too noisy. Ok, the food is different in a good way. Very trendy, very deconstructed if you will. Ingredients and combos that you can't quite figure out. Our appys and entrees were all very good. Hen of the woods mushrooms are great. Dessert was a let down compared to the rest. I ordered a lemon meringue pie dessert which once again was deconstructed with basically a lemon bar with no crust, some raspberry sorbet and a few other things. The original would have been better. Kind of like a choccolate chip cookie. Hard to beat the original. You play around with the recipe too much you end up with....?"

"We really loved this restaurant. From the moment we stepped through the door, the staff made us feel like we arrived at a friends home for dinner. Seating is tight, and the diners around us were so pleasent to talk to. Everyone around us were repeat diners, so we knew we were in for a treat. The small menu has a great choice of different and unusally prepared dishes. Our meal was excellent. Parking is a challange (it is in South Philly) but don't let that keep you from trying Will BYOB."

"My wife and I truly enjoyed a dining experience at Pumpkin some time ago and read about its' wonderful chef, Christopher Kearse, and his creative, dynamic flair. When we learned that he opened Will, our interests were peaked as we wondered what new level he possibly could ascend to. We were not disappointed. On a cold, cold Spring night, from our sincere and genuine greeting, warm, friendly, and attentive service, and exciting flavor filled appetizers, entrees, and desserts, our experience at this resplendent restaurant reached a new and dynamic high. Every aspect of Will was flawless and executed professionally, and now sets the bar to measure other restaurant dining experiences by. Well done!"

"Dinner at Will was exceptional. Every item displayed careful attention to coordinating and complementing flavors and textures, from the squash soup with slightly crunchy quinoa and woodsy fresh greens, the subtle but effective use of pickled radish and the remarkable just-right done-ness of the poached salmon. We were there on a Sunday prix fixe evening. Although foie gras was not on the menu that evening, the chef happily prepared an extra course for us, and it was exquisite."

"The food at Will is very good but you need to be prepared to sit in your neighbors lap. The place is so small that to talk you have to yell to each other. You are basically hitting elbows with the party next to you. If we had known this in advance, we would not have gone to Will."

"In a word, disappointing. From the appetizer of foie gras torchon which never reached room temperature to the unprepared server unable to identify one of the accompanying sides to the monk fish entree ("why don't you guess"!!), we felt Will was off its game. We've loved this restaurant in the past, but will hesitate before returning again. Maybe just an off night."

"Our dinner at Will was a mixed bag! It is an adorable little restaurant, with a very intimate ambience. The service is friendly & prompt. The menu is small & unfortunately so are the portions. My husband did not really like the look of anything on the menu, but decided to order the Suckling Pork Shoulder. He was expecting a piece of meat, but he got a bland confit/meatloaf thing that did not look or taste appealing. I tasted it myself & would not recommend it. I ordered the hen of the woods & the poulard, which were both delicious. The plating was beautiful, but we did not find it satisfying meal & left hungry. I was not expecting to have to cook something for my husband when I got home - we were disappointed!"
