theMINT: envisioned in the past, resurrected by opportunity, executed by experience, enriched by community, growing through innovation
What We Do:
Gastropub refers to a bar and restaurant that serves high-end beer and food.[1]
The term gastropub, a portmanteau of gastronomy and pub, originated in England in the late 20th century. English pubs were drinking establishments and had little emphasis placed on the serving of food. Then that all changed. theMINT is an AMERICAN Gastropub that focuses on premium food and beer as well as premium spirits, cocktails, and martinis.
"The Mint has a twisted menu. That's a good thing and the whole point. Classic comfort food with a twist if you like trying new things, and I do. The service was a little slow but to be expected given the crowd, it was a Saturday evening, and the way the food is prepared. Good things are worth waiting for! You may want to make reservations on the weekends. There were six of us in our party and from start to finish we were there about 2 hours with desert. It is also a bit noisy. My guess is because of the buildings design with concrete floors and nothing to really buffer the sound. But overall, wonderful food and atmosphere and I will definitely be back for seconds, especially for some more of the BBQ octopus. YUM!"

"Great Food! Service very good. Overall experience was great with one exception. It is noisy. Don't expect a romantic dinner but expect unique food in a interesting atmosphere. The Mussels and Frite with Lobster Bisque sauce was outstanding as were the smoked ribs."

"theMINT is a great neighborhood restaurant with a twist! They offer a wide variety of foods, both traditional and interesting that are sure to please everyone. They've redone their menu in the last year, bringing more traditional items to the menu, but still leaving plenty for the adventurous diner. The BBQ Octopus appetizer and the smoked duck entree were both delicious and highly recommended. Great drinks as well. It's a little loud because of all the hard surfaces, but still a really cool atmosphere."

"The noise level at theMint is very high, simply because nothing has been done to absorb sound bouncing off the surfaces of what once was the customer are of a bank branch office. Otherwise, the decor is simple but nice. Almost overwhelming beer list. Varied and very interesting menu. What we sampled on a recent visit was expertly prepared and creatively presented."

"Brought my sister and brother-in-law here for the first time this weekend. They both work at the Culinary Institute for America, and absolutely loved everything we had. The menu changes pretty often, but some of the items we ordered are fixtures: truffle mac and cheese, poutin, lamb schnitzel, delmonico steak, bbq duck leg."

"Very fun atmosphere with a creative menu. Lots of choices and some good comfort food in addition to fresh ingrediants. This is the kind of place that could become your "go to" any day of the week."

"Our first time to the Mint and we went with another couple. The menu was interesting and unusual, albeit I felt that the meal was more spa-like than filling (in full disclosure, we were hungry so a stop for desert and another round of appetizers after the mint was in order).
Overall we enjoyed the Mint - service was good, although someone forgot to place 1 out of 4 dinner orders, so we were short a meal for about 15 minutes. I would return the next time I have a taste for venison though - that was tasty!"

"Love the Mint!! Food was amazing as always - we enjoyed the cheese sticks as an appetizer. Had the chicken club sandwich, which was huge. Gotta love tots! Ambiance was fun and trendy. Ages of patrons was varied. Definitely will visit again. They will change the menu from time to time. The only bad thing is wanting to order something for the second time and its not on the menu any longer. Have tried prom chops and lobster truffle Mac n cheese in the past. Amazing!"

"Our first trip to theMint was for Valentine's Day. We were a bit disappointed to find that on our special romantic night we were seated at a shared table with 2 other couples. That certainly took away from the intimacy of the dining experience, however the excellent, original and creative culinary adventures on the menu and drink list certainly more than made up for the minor inconvenience. The next time we return we will simply request our own table and know that we will be thoroughly delighted with our experience.
With excellent food, drink (with fair prices) and unique ambiance you didn't realize you could find outside of Philadelphia, I highly recommend you check out this gem for yourself!"

"The food was very delicious, the atmosphere was very inviting, and the beer and wine selection was outstanding. The only negative was the dedicated valentines menu, which is at almost all upscale restaraunts around this time. The pricing was a little too high for the portions received. Overall though, wonderful experience."

"If you're looking for an evening out at a place filled with energy & people enjoying their dinner, then this is a place..I was seated where I could watch the entire place hustle bustle..staff ever so ready to take care of their patrons..Our waiter was very attentive & knowledgeable about the menu. The beer menu was excellent and they were willing to make me 1/2 a martini as per my request. We also learned that chef changes the menu frequently..a good thing. The food was very good..we started with lobster mac/cheese..big enough to share..My Husband had catfish and I had the venison. perfectly cooked..only complaint was the bread pudding, a tad dry. I observed other desserts coming out that looked delightful. Overall a very cool experience."

"After booking on open table for 7:30 we arrived at 7:20 and were told a table would be opening up soon and to wait at the lounge. Meanwhile there was an empty table sitting there. By 7:45 I asked the hostess why we couldn't sit at the empty table. She responded that it was reserved. So I said,"Open table doesn't really work here then?" She said not really, and went on to say that a couple of other tables were about to open up. By 8:00 a smaller table cleared and we were seated, meanwhile, no one asked us if we would even like a drink while waiting.
The food selection was different. Well cooked steaks but nothing over the top."
