Boasting an inventive menu featuring Chinese, Malaysian, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and other Asian cuisines, Zinda offers delicious food flavored to perfection and an atmosphere unlike any other in Raleigh. The restaurant has a variety of dining rooms, two bars, and a beautiful second floor mezzanine that overlooks the first floor dining rooms. Each individual space is unique and filled with beautiful decor, giving you several options to make your dining experience at Zinda unforgettable.
"Looks really cool inside and the menu appears to have a lot of options, but the food left a lot to be desired and it was pricey. Better option in Raleigh than this one. Skip it!"

"I went with a group and unfortunately no one could eat their entrees. The food is simply that bad. My dish tasted like it was prepared the day before and reheated--no, really, it's that bad. If you go, go to drink. Perhaps if you drink enough, it won't matter the food is tasteless. But go as soon as possible because it's unlikely to be around much longer. A night when most restaurants downtown were packed, Zinda was three-quarters empty."

"I rarely take the time to write a review, unless the restaurant is as good as Zinda! It was creative, delicious, and outstanding service from the minute you walk in. Try the Butter Chicken or the Korean Short rib. We brought friends who are gourmands and they absolutely love it! The atmosphere is also enchanting....."

"Zinda is beautiful and the service was prompt and friendly. However, the food is loaded with salt, start to finish. It would be tough for anyone with a heart condition. Two of our entrees, seafood, were very overcooked. Appetizers were tasty, but again very salty."

"A wonderful experience fr start to finish. Food, its presentation and preparation, and varied menu, all top-notch. Staff warm and accommodating. Best of all, the ambiance : intimate, romantic, sophisticated, and classy, but simulataneously casual, unpretentious, laid-back, and cozy. Our 1st exp0erience here and will be returning very soon."

"Overall food was good. I didn't like the canned pineapple in the dessert. Thought it should have been fresh - if can't get fresh, shouldn't be on the menu. Was very quiet the night we went - i can see how it would be fun late night though."

"We dined at Zinda for Valentine's Day and were very impressed with the food and service. They even called us a few days later to thank us for choosing them for our Valentine's dinner and asked how we liked our experience. I really liked the design of the restaurant as well. If I had to criticize something it would be the size of the dinner plates - they seemed more appropriate as appetizer plates."

"We went for Valentine's Day so we got the special menu. The carrot ginger soup was amazing, the tangerine chicken could've used more seasoning, and the pear mosaic was not much for what we paid. The salad was okay, the eggplant dish was really spicy but good, and the mango mousse cake was amazing. Overall, we had a good experience. It was a expensive for what it was, though."

"The ambiance was great and the menu was interesting. The crab and scallop gyoza was just okay and would have been much better with a shrimp filling. Our waiter informed us that they were considering offering filling choices for the gyoza. The roasted beet and arugula salad was delicious! My husband made the mistake of ordering the goat curry--only to find most of the meat was missing and replaced by bones. The staff did bring him additional goat. I ordered the eggplant dish which was delicious but should have been presented on a plate with some sauce rather than in a soup bowl swimming in sauce. It was difficult to see exactly what the eggplant bundle looked like. Making a few changes would have made the dinner outstanding!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Zinda. I had the pork adobo and my husband had the pineapple fried rice. We would highly recommend either of those entrees. Our server was attentive without being overly so. The interior of the restaurant is well decorated. We'd go back again!"

"Zinda is one of my favorite night spots in downtown Raleigh. The upscale ambiance & hip decor are unmatched in Raleigh. I have had many, many positive experiences meeting friends here for drinks. However this was my first time dining there for supper. I must say I was disappointed. The wonton soup was excellent but the calamari were bland with too sharply spiced sauce. And the yellow curry entree had no kick to it at all and was way too gingery. I'm a yellow curry fanatic and this is the first time I recall not enjoying curry. I can easily find better curry for far cheaper. I'll also note that the food was cooked correctly and the presentation was well done. I will give this place another try though as I really hope it was just a bad night!"

"Zinda is very convenient to the entertainment complex (Memorial Hall, etc) a few minutes walk away. The decor is very attract high tech. There is a classy bar as you walk in and the general ambience is excellent. The food is pan Asian and there were some interesting, seemingly original versions of food we have eaten and food that was new to us. We had a 3 course dinner during Restaurant week. A salad with several shrimp was excellent. The won ton soup was very good and different than you would find in a Chinese restaurant. The spring rolls and samosas were very good, with good dipping sauces. My wife enjoyed the butter chicken a lot and I found my stir fried bison excellent (the portion was skimpy but it was enough for a 3 course meal)."

"This place is beautiful. The decor is minimalist but very well put together and gives a great ambiance. The lighting was perfect and the banquette seats are really great for group dining. Service is OK: the restaurant wasn't at capacity and a few times we wanted to get our waitress' attention but she was nowhere to be found. The food was great--I got a salmon and egg noodle pesto dish that was bland and boring, but everything with Asian flavors was FANTASTIC. Overall stick to the exotic dishes and you will not be disappointed. The calamari is fantastic and very spicy."

"We dined during Triangle Restaurant Week...the Scottish Salmon entree, Bison entree, calimari, and wonton soup were phenomenal!! Service was very attentive. Nice decor, a very 'current' look. Only drawback I could mention is that it was difficult to read the beer menu due to low lighting LOL!"

"Was a bit skeptical because of the trendy vibe, but pleasantly surprised. Great Pan-Asian food (ordered the thai pineapple fried rice, lo mein noodles, and lumpia), good drink selection. Not too loud as other reviewers have mentioned, as long as you are there before the late-night crowd. Will definitely return!"
