Orso is a Falls Church City neighborhood gem. Chef Will Artley, previously of The Evening Star Café, reigns over the oven of this popular restaurant. Artley's menu centers on the fire of a wood burning Forno Napoletano oven. Selections include a wide range of delectable small plates, Neapolitan style pizza, antipasti, and traditional desserts. There are Chef's specials every night of the week based on seasonal ingredients. Orso's wine & beverage program offer exceptional, value-oriented wines, as well as a number of craft beers and specialty cocktails. Orso offers bar specials every weeknight between 4pm and 7pm, Tuesday's "Kids Eat Free," and Wednesday is "Half Price Wine Night," offering half-off bottles of wine from 4pm - 9pm. We are located in the Tax Analyst Building at Pearson Square, right behind the SAAB Dealership and Elevation Burger, cross streets South Maple Avenue and Tinners Hill.
"Everything about the pizza here is terrific. Since I live an hour from Pizzeria Orso, I don't get to go there very often. My favorite dish on the menu - the fried brussel sprouts. I had talked about them so much that my dining companions were salivating waiting to try them. The bad news - they were out of them at lunch time :( on May 16 and were preparing a new batch. Our waiter offered some tempting alternatives and the cauliflower appetizer was good, but it did not make up for the disappointment over the brussel sprouts. The pizza did not disappoint. Delicious!"

"Love this place! The staff are all very friendly & helpful, and seem quite knowledgeable about the menu - always a good thing! There were five of us & we shared 4 appetizers - not your typical huge starters found in casual dining. They're actually just right for one person, MAYBE two; all were delicious - tator tots, meatballs, pork belly, & mini pasta carbonara. We also shared 3 pizzas - Italian style, i.e., individual size, but definitely enough for two to share - they were great & flavorful - everything is fresh for all their dishes. I seem to recall that on our previous visit, the pizzas were even better! This time we tried The Tommy Boy, Capricciosa, & the Toscana.
Already looking forward to our next visit - going for the mussels!"

"Good food, great service. What more can you ask for? The pizza is "different," in a good way. This is not your Mom's pizza. These guys use the best ingredients available and they are not afraid to let the dough crust "bubble" in the oven. This makes for a crispier pizza and the olive oil just oozes down the slices. The portions on other dishes are sensible, not overflowing. Our waiter, Michael, was fun, polite, and he knew the various daily dishes well.
We'll go back, for sure."

"I chose to eat here tonight because Orso made it to the Final 4 of the Great Doughnut Derby on the Best Bites Blog. I went with a group of four. We shared the Arancini, greek salad, two pizzas, and an order of Donuts. Everything was good. The waiter was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I'm a big fan of the Arancini. The pizzas were good. The group shared the two pizzas which was enough with the appetizers and donuts. The pizzas weren't very heavy so one COULD eat a single pizza alone if one was hungry. The donuts were really good. They are lemon-glazed donuts with a nutella mousse on top. One order comes with three donuts and each is about the size of a tennis ball. They're really good.
Overall, this place is worth trying."

"Will Artly is currently one of the best chefs in NOVA. While you may come to ORSO for some of the best pizza in the area, the small dishes are incredible. Will's cooking really shines with seasonal ingredients, intense flavors and an ability to be creative. The service is outstanding, and leave room for dessert."

"It was my pleasure to help Pizzria orso celebrate Falls Church's First Restaurant Week event. As usual, food, ambience, wait staff, etc. excellent. It won't be long before I return."

"Pizzeria Orso is a terrific up-to-date restaurant, offering small plates and pastas as well as pizzas. The wait staff always manages to welcome you, remembers you have been there before and just go out out to make you feel welcome and want to come back -- which I most assuredly will."

"Very impressed with new menu and quality and range of dishes. Started with pork cheek ravioli and pork belly - both melt-in-your mouth perfect. Entrees were the roast chicken and Orso pizza - same quality of ingredients and wonderful flavor (they ran out of the short ribs). Ended with tiramisu and brownie sundae. Unfortunately they ran out of the lemon glazed donuts, too - so looks like we'll have to go back for the ribs and the donuts. Wednesday is half price wine bottle night so that was definitely an added bonus for us. Highly recommend this restaurant. Kudos to the host and the wait staff - very attentive and gracious."

"It was very disappointing. We had to wait 30 minutes for our appetizers which came out separately. I was done eating before my husband's appetizer arrived. Then we had to wait another 45 minutes for our entrees, again coming out separately. And we had finished two drinks each before the dinner arrived so we could not enjoy wine with the dinner."

"Brussels chips were AMAZING. Very fast service, especially for pizzas. We were there at 7pm on a Saturday evening and our pizzas were delivered to our table within 15 minutes. In fact, with appetizers, entree, and dessert, we were out in one hour."

"The overall experience at Pizzeria Orso was positive. The small plates, particularly the pork belly, were really good. The pizza's were equally a good. Service fell a little short; one pizza order was never placed and there were errors on the bill. Will definetly give it another try because the food was so good."

"Sophie rocks! The brick oven Sophie makes some of the best bread I have ever had State-side. Sophie's olives baked in the oven Sophie was my favorite part of the meal, paired with the incredible singed bread. The pizza was very flavorful and was just the right temperature. A place I'd come back to for a nice weekend lunch out or a special but casual occasion. The service was great and it was a warm, inviting place, even with the concrete floors that emulated Italy to me. Finding places like this is why Restaurant Week is so fantastic."

"The Restaurant Week lunch special provided two small plates, one pizza, and two desserts for $20.13. The calamari small plate arrived with an outstanding pesto sauce that we also used to dip the pizza crust. The other small plate, Brussels Chips, is a quite unusual specialty - flash fried chips of brussels sprout leaves that have been seasoned. Everyone seemed to be ordering these and we could see why - they were delicious. For pizza, we ordered the Capricciosa; it is definitely not like Pizza Hut or home delivery, but a real taste of Italy. For dessert, we each orders pistachio cannolis - delicious and unusual. The wait staff was helpful, courteous, and prompt."

"The pizza was good, but the small dishes ("Italian tapas," our waiter called them) were excellent. The ample chocolate "gelato" tasted like it came from Trader Joe's; however, it was not gelato. The large beer and wine list includes something for everyone. My spouse and I dressed for dinner and were surprised to find that Orso is designed casually for kids and their parents. Our waiter, who occasionally appeared, offered unhelpful suggestions -- asked which IPA had the most character and hops, he recommended a bland Belgian-beer knockoff on tap -- and we were seated at a one-of-a-kind seven-sided table with a round corner. I kept looking around for the chainsaw that came with it. The cost of our dinner for two was good value. Arri'."
