"Absolutely delicious! Great service, very cool atmosphere. Went with a voucher from Travel Zoo so had never been there before. Food was very original, and tasted very fresh! Will definitely be there again!"

"Dahlia's is the restaurant/bar upstairs from Brick. On Thursday nights, it is an open mike night with Bob Egan who is an incredibly gifted pianist. The food is really wonderful--they always have terrific and unusual specials. The crowd is always fun. The service is great: Eric, Will, and Bernard are fun and very efficient. Bob is the big draw as he has a HUGE following from years of playing in Atlantic City, New Hope, PA, etc. Bob is fun, energetic, funny, and really gifted. Bernard has voice that will knock the socks off of you, too! It you are into the Piano Bar scene this is the place to be."

"The food here was really good. I was afraid the portions would be too small, but they weren't! The food was served quickly after we received our wine. The mussels were really light; they were cooked in a delicious white wine garlic broth. The lamb burger was not tasty to me as I usually don't eat lamb, but my boyfriend loved it!! I must say, it was really juicy and pretty big. Of course we had the prosciutto and goat cheese flatbread; it was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised because its shaped more like a pizza. The dough is similar to that of Garces Trading Company; it was doughy and little sweet, which was very nice. I will be going again to enjoy more good food and friendly service!!"

"The menu is not extensive and several items (including my choice) were not available, so it was difficult finding something worthwhile to order. Would like to try their brunch"

"We sat outside so I cannot comment on the interior. We ordered the shrimp appetizer and it was ok but not equal to others we have had in the city. My wife ordered the misspells and had to request a spoon for the coconut broth. You would think that would be automatic. I ordered the short rib sandwich at the recommendation of the waiter. It was in my opinion a bit dry and not very flavorful. We both were disappointed with the fries but the biggest surprise was the wait for our main course as everyone else was served that arrive after us.
Atmosphere 7 out of 10 (outside) Service 5 out of 10 Food 6 out of 10
This place could be so much better but as it stands there are so many better options."

"Creative gastro pub menu pleased everyone in our group. Philly cheesesteak appetizers with chipotle ketchup hit the mark for table sharing. Main courses were very good as well. Gnocchi pleased our pasta-vore but the best dish was the scallops. Dessert was simple but well executed...chocolate bread pudding or creme brûlée. The atmosphere was pretty casual..exposed brick with the white tablecloths and Philly photos and maps on the walls. Overall a good place to visit for a pleasing meal."

"It was our first time there. We went late (10pm) after a show, and although I was worried that we were going to get the 'leftovers' from the kitchen, they treated us very well and the food was good. The spring roast pork was great. Our waiter was great also."

"We had a fun time at this restaurant which was originally the old Astral Plane back in the day. The waiter was attentive, although not overbearing. He just had a great attitude and his service was great. If I recall his name was George and he had formerly been at the Four Seasons. This restaurant was very casual with some tables outside. My appetizer of Mac and Cheese with Short Ribs was to die for; especially for someone like me who never eats that stuff. Later on they have a piano bar upstairs and the player was really good and although it was not limited to jazz it was fun. Some of the customers joined in to sing and one guy in particular, I think his name was Ty could really sing!"

"Really enjoyed our first trip to Brick. A second trip was quite disappointing. Mussels were rubbery to begin. Brick salad ingredients were good, but flavor in dressing seemed absent. My scallops and my friend's salmon were again overcooked - such a waste. Maybe somebody had a very bad day in the kitchen or there was a family emergency. There was no excuse for the last straw. Our bill came with no voucher money deducted. When we finally spotted our waitress, her reaction was "Oh yeah - I well I can take it off." Her attitude and comment made it look as though it was up to the customer to catch it."

"Food was great, albeit a little more pricy than expected. Thai chili shrimp and cornbread chick were solid altough the "strawberry bbq sauce" tasted about like kc masterpiece with some strawberry syrup added to it."

"Very nasty manager who would not honor travelzoo vouchers that we had. His response was "don't come back. someone needs to get the money-it's either us or travelzoo." Poor reply, in my opinion! Unfortunately, we will be taking his advice and not be going back!"

"Had a fair experience. Ordered the crab Benedict which arrived absolutely cold. English muffin seemed as if it had not been toasted. Food returned warm and tasted ok. Overpriced for the taste. My friend's food was tasty. Have eaten here twice before for brunch and dinner. Will probably not go back. There are better places to dine."

"My husband and I went here for the second time due to a groupon and a living social deal. Both times the food was great, but the second time around, we were basically sitting on top of the couple next to us. I'd highly recommend it for the food and the drinks, but if you're a little claustrophobic, be advised that it's quite tight in there just like many quaint restaurants in Philadelphia!"

"I highly recommend the upstairs piano bar, Dalia's, on Thursday nights. Bob Egan the pianist is amazing. He attracts a crowd of patrons who can actually sing. I had the lamb cheeseburger with fries and it was killer. The staff worked hard and looked after me very well. I'll be back again!"

"I've wanted to check this little restaurant out since I moved into the neighborhood not too long ago, and I had even bought a Travelzoo voucher. I finally got an opportunity to go a few nights ago, and I was pleasantly charmed. The food was simply prepared, but full of flavor. We started with the tuna wonton appetizers which were perfectly seared, but the sauce was a bit salty. The rib mac n' cheese was to die for. I had the chicken and my friend had the steak. The chef followed his orders exactly and cooked it rare, just they way he wanted it. The service was friendly and attentive without being overly bearing. Their wine list is a bit lacking, but the California cab that we shared was nicely full-bodied."

"After reading the reviews on YELP we were hesitant but we had a Travelzoo coupon so we were obligated. It was a very good dinner, excellent service, nice menu -- great value. I really don't understand some of the negative reviews that were posted. We thought it was a nice evening out."

"We were disappointed with the quality of food - especially for a restaurant in this city. We felt that the food was uninspired and that main ingredients came frozen or pre-made. The cocktails we had were also stale - the margarita tasted like it had a pre-made sour mix as its base. It's a shame, because we'd been there when it first opened and did not have this experience. In this town where there are so many amazing restaurants and chefs creating inspired dishes with fresh, local ingredients, new restaurants need to be equally as good or better than the next in order to stay open."

"Very nice place. We were there on a quiet Monday evening. Arrived way ahead of our reservation time due to good traffic, and they seated us immediately. Happy hour until 7PM, so we took advantage of that. The menu was small enough to fit on one page, but it seemed like every item was a house speciality. Everything was excellent."

"The most important aspect of a restaurant, the food, wasn't all that good. It wasn't terrible either, it was just so-so. The dishes we had were fairly bland and not nearly worth the asking price.
The decor was quite strange. The rug where we dined was a zebra print, there were giant pictures of retro pinup girls and the walls were all pitch black. Even the air conditioners were poorly painted black to match the walls.
The service was good, but that doesn't help me in recommending the place."

"We have beeb to the Brick many times. This and the last times were disappointing. Portion size is decreasing and quality is hurting. While I expect we will be back, it is solely because we enjoy talking to the staff. Rather than entrees, we will try the Lamb burger ... looked good on the next persons plate this trip."

"We had a MAGICAL night - first realizing that this was the old location of the Astral Plane, a favorite restaurant from the 80's and 90's. A perfectly mixed cosmopolitan at the bar and friendly greetings gave us a good vibe - and when it was time to be seated, we asked for a romantic spot. Were we ever glad that we were escorted upstairs to Dalia's Piano Bar and Lounge. Because we were early, we had George and Babe almost to ourselves (but not for long) - and they regaled us with our favorites. Our obscure wedding dance song included! Any night that results in my husband saying to me, "Let's dance" is a five start night...and the food was terrific, too."

"Not cheap and not good service at all. I went for brunch on a Saturday around 2pm. It took more than 45 minutes to get our food, of which the 3 of us ordered an omelette or eggs benedict. Also, the grilled chicken sandwich I ordered was supposed to come on multigrain bread and it came on texas toast. The fries that came with the dish were cold and the chicken portion was less than mediocre. Even though the restaurant offers free mini muffins, the service and food were very below level. I can't imagine how the service is during its busiest time periods. I had a deal/coupon for this visit. That is the last time I will buy a deal. I even checked opentable for comments. Obviously, other people had a better experience than me."

"If it weren't for the lively piano bar upstairs I wouldn't recommend it. The food is ok, but lacks detail in presentation. The pasta and Asian noodles were just dumped in a bowl and could have both used some finishing garnish. They do, however, make a nice lamb burger and shoestring fries. The upstairs bar is stocked like a caterer's bar with a limited and inconsistent selection of alcohol. The servers are nice and friendly and some of the upstairs staff can really sing and get the crowd engaged.
If you go, go with a few friends, have a few drinks, listen to some songs and have fun. If you just want a night out to dinner, there are better options."

"Really good casual meal. We went at 5.00pm but within minutes there were a few tables in to encourage a vibrant atmosphere. Servers were all great and service was generally quick. We had duck nachos to start which were outstanding and both of me and my gf had the salmon special. Salmon was as good as I had tasted with the Greek yoghurt and sliced apple topping superb. Been before and will definitely go again."

"It was nice. I am not from Philly but it is located in a neighborhood kind of place. The food was ok. I can't say I would go back as there are too many other places I would try and nothing really stood out as far as the food being so great that I would pass up all the other choices in resturnats. I can see hanging out there if I lived in the neighborhood. Very friendly staff"

"I went on a Saturday night with a female friend of mine. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service could be better (it seemed our waitress was stretched a little thin-but she was sweet), but the overall atmosphere completely made up for it. The owner (or manager?) was very polite and led us to our table as quickly as possible. I had the flank steak and my friend had the salmon. Both were pretty good (nothing was INCREDIBLE, but overall we were pleased). The live music was to die for! They had a woman by the name of Liz DuFour (I'm probably slaying the spelling of her last name). She played everything from Tina Turner to showtunes. Overall, a great experience, and yes, I would go back."

"I went with a group of 8 people and the restaurant was pretty packed, which is expected on a Saturday night; however, the service was extremely slow. We ordered a variety of dishes (small plates, salads, entrees) and they all came out at different times, some getting their second dish before others got their first. The waiter also brought out dishes that we didn't order. They also did a poor job at clearing the table. Reason I am giving them 3 stars is because they apologized for the slow service (understaffed) and gave us a free salad to share and a round of drinks."

"Went to Brick American Eatery on a Living Social deal. Had I not had this deal I would have been extremely disappointed. The value and quality of food was marginal at best. I had the Cornmeal Chicken which I believe was priced at $24.95. This consisted of 1 very bland, small chicken breast, an ice cream scoop size of plain mashed potatoes, and a decent size serving of plain green beans. My husband and I both had a creme brulee, his plain, my caramel. Both came out cold and his had the consitency of scrambled eggs. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant, unless you had a really good coupon."
