"The menu choices are quite innovative. Their house 'Manhatten' cocktail was a treat. Nice house wine, too. Wings appetizer had a nice blend of spices. Had a buttermilk fried chicken served on brussel sprouts and their unique mac and cheese. It was delicious. Partner enjoyed perfectly prepared flat iron steak. The service and attention to detail was terrific. We'll be back."

"This was a great date-night restaurant. My date and I both agreed that the food was some of the best we've had ever, trumping a french restaurant in Waikiki. The steak and buttermilk fried chicken were both delicious, and cooked perfectly! This would be a recommended restaurant for ANYONE that is looking for a great treat."

"The atmosphere was great, a local band was playin while we were there. Outstanding wine list and on Tuesday's the bottles are half off! I personally thought the food was a little bland for my taste. I ordered the filet mignon and had high expecations but I was disappointed. My partner orderd the chicken breast with mac and cheese and he also though it was bland. The only thing that saved the night was the wine and unfortunately the restaurant cannot take credit for it. I would suggest this place more for a relaxing evening with wine."

"We had gone to the Manhattan for dinner during Restaurant Week in early April and had a nice dinner. We decided to meet some friends there for Sunday Brunch a few weeks later and see what that was like. We arrived at 10 and our table was ready as the restaurant was only about half filled at that time. A server was out, so our server was trying to make up the difference. It took a little while to get coffee and our friends' Mimosas, but they came eventually. We ordered standard brunch items about 10:15, but didn't get out food until almost 11. While my dish and our friends were satisfactory, my wife ordered the Chicken (thigh) and Waffle. The thigh was very dry and small. She was too hungry to send it back."

"The food was fantastic, but the staff seemed too stoned to care. We had to wait over 15 minutes before anyone came to our table the first time (the 'seat yourself' sign was up so obviously our reservation wasn't needed). Lunch took over 2 hours because no one came by the table and we ordered multiple courses. Not even sure who our waiter was since random people just wandered up to us when they felt like it."

"Everything was amazing. However, I told the hostess that I had a groupon, she told me to wait at the end of the meal to give it to our waitress. When I gave it after our meal she said what we picked didnt fit for my groupon deal. I was mislead on my instructions and didnt enjoy that I couldn't redeem my groupon. The food was fantastic and planning on coming again."

"I went for Restaurant Week at lunch time. While the service was a bit slow, (our waitress was new)the food was incredible. I had the oysters to start and the crab cakes for lunch. The crab cakes were amazing. The vegetables and citrus combination worked so well together. The cakes were mostly all crab which was such a bonus. I will definitely be headed back soon."

"We ordered a variety of appetizers and the ribs to share. I was pleasantly surprised by the southern food, given the name is Manhattan. The tuna had a good flavor and the avocado added a nice touch. The corn fritters were fresh and crunchy; I only wish they had more corn and less batter. The crab cakes are amazing and flaky--order these! The shrimp and grits had nice flavor, but the grits were slightly soupy. The ribs were tender and spicy, a good choice. The servers came by to check on us just the right amount of times. Overall a good experience for me!"

"Overall, it was just ok. My partner had ribeye and although it was 'good' (this coming from a ribeye connoisseur in a "steak house" isn't much of a recommendation), the remaining fat took up half the plate. I had the fried green tomatoes (fairly tasty but hard and a bit greasy without much crust) and the fried oysters which were good. The service was so-so even tho it wasn't very busy (Saturday night dinner). Our drinks came late, just before the salad. We sat for a while as well waiting to pay for our check. So I don't think it's worth returning."

Not sure if it was because they were slow and there was a light waitstaff, but given that there were only a few tables occupied the waiter certainly could have been more attentive--at least at the beginning. Once we had ordered dinner, things seemed to get a little better service-wise.
The food was very good...the meat served was a bit undercooked. They were quick to resolve the issue."

"The Pork Tenderloin, as well as the Beef Hangersteak dinners, were of superior quality. The meats in both entrees were portioned as thick slices; they were tender, sumptuous in texture and flavor, very well prepared, moderately priced choices on the menu. Accompanied by well prepared vegetables - a good value. Was there at happy hour, so enjoyed low priced house wines and a few good appetizers (scallops and the fried green tomatoes). Added two of their small house salads along with the aforementioned appetizers and entrees, which resulted in substantial three course meal and wine at a very reasonable tab."

"First time going and will definitely be back again. Great food (Wedge salad as the appetizer and for the entrees an Angus burger with fries and the St. Louis Style Ribs with Red Beans and Rice), ambiance (lighting, table and booth placement as well as a great view of the bar/bartender)and service (very helpful and attentive). So much food, it might have been better to share (though my son enjoyed the leftovers). I also loved the music that was playing on Pandora, and sang (quietly) and danced through the meal. Warning: The Kahlua Chocolate Mousse is quite delicious if you want an alcoholic beverage for dessert. It was too much for us, but will try something else another time. The only downside was parking, but that's Capitol Hill."

"Food was alright, my favorite part was the kale that came with my steak and the oysters were cooked just right. I got the flat iron steak and it was on the cold side (luke warm at best); would recommend not slicing it up. Ribs were decent but the beans and rice that came with it were not very good, no real flavor. Ambiance is good, and the wait staff were pleasant, no waiting for help."

"we had a group of six and initally had a cheery server who even fished my hat out from behind a large booth when it accidentally fell behind it. then somehow we never saw our initial server again but instead got another friendly gal. when food stopped being served, we had a difficult time getting ahold of her again. the ambiance was nice--kind of dark and moody--and the food was excellent."

"My boyfriend and I were really looking for a special place to go for a belated anniversary dinner and we heard about the Manhattan through Groupon. We decided to try the deal and at first arrival were very pleased (other than it a pain to find parking and ended up paying for valet). After he joined me in the restaurant it took a while for a server to come back by us. Her tables were mostly in the back and so I felt like she kept forgetting to come to the front. We grabbed just anyone that was close by because we weren't sure when she would be back. She did make some great recommendations for food and drinks though. Another bummer was our steak. We ended up having to send it back because it was so undercooked and they replaced it."

"Chicken Parm was amazing I ordered Rib Eye steak for $38 that was very bland and a little over cooked. I ended up putting salt n pepper on all over it. It was still good though I ate the whole thing. I will go back for brunch and happy hour even dinner. I just won't do steak again."

"Purchasing this amazon local deal, and moreover, using it, was a mistake. The restaurant was very noisy and too dark to read the menu. I should have looked at the menu online before purchasing the deal. The menu was overly expensive and actually uninteresting. The food that we tried (admittedly a small part of the menu) was mediocre. My (cheapest) steak was chewy, not surprisingly, but my spouse's 3x more expensive steak was not any better. We were there almost 45 minutes before soup arrived, and there was nothing about the soup that justified this wait; the soup was watery and could have come from a can. This was just not a good fit for us."

"On a previous dining experience, we were very pleased with the steaks, but this time we were disappointed. Our table ordered three steaks; two New York and one flat-iron. The New York plates had significant amounts of inedible portions of the steak. The cut was very tough to cut even with a steak knife, and even less pleasurable to eat. For the price point of the New York; we would have expected to be served a higher quality cut.
The halibut was delicious, has great accompanying side dishes, and has been one of the most consistently executed plates. We also ordered the Ahi appetizer and it was perfect and a dish that everyone at the table remembered; we will order it again.
Lemon Basil cocktail was refreshing. Great atmosphere."

"Drawn in by a TravelZoo deal (a la Groupon), I had no expectations other than what I've read online. We started off with crab cakes, which came quickly & were crabby, i.e. not full of non-crab fillers. They were crispy, not oily & the accompanying slaw provided a great acidic balance. Then entrees...well, not so fast. Maybe 30-40 minutes later, came entrees, as the surrounding tables, all who came in after us, received their happy hour food orders before us. It was a bit frustrating, but at least our waiter came over to let us know he would check on the food before I walked into the kitchen. The entrees - pork tenderloin & flat iron steak - were good & ok, respectively. I'd get the pork again, not the steak. Mousse for dessert was tasty."

"The food good in a casual steakhouse setting. Service could be more attentive however they make it up with their upbeat personalities! Parking is a challenge on weekend night. Ladies wear shoes fit for walking poor sidewalks of Captial Hill hilly streets"

"Really nice brunch in a pleasant atmosphere. Friendly server. Brunch entrees are half price if you order before 11, which make it extremely reasonable... but prices were good, anyway.

"I had the ribs which came out very blackened, one of the ribs was just flat out burnt. They cut them up for you which is weird. I would think leaving them together would keep the juices in. They seemed reheated from a previous day.
My husband had the pulled pork sliders that were on biscuits, a side of fries, and the tomato soup. He was less than thrilled. When the best thing about your meal is the soggy fries there isn't much to be thrilled about... The pulled pork tasted and looked like the pre- made stuff you buy by the tub, and the biscuits were not flakey. The soup came with a dollop of sour cream on top who puts sour cream on soup? The soup was bland there wasn't too much flavor to it.
Service was lacking and slow."
