Roberto Paciullo’s hometown of Salerno is transported to the streets of Manhattan. Zero Otto Nove is the second outpost of his famous restaurants from Arthur Ave. in the Bronx. From the atmosphere to the food, stopping by Zero Otto Nove is taking a quick trip to Italy. The wood-burning brick oven is at the center turning out classics like the Margherita, and Roberto's originals, such as La Riccardo with butternut squash puree, smoked mozzarella, spicy pancetta, and basil. All the pastas are homemade, and all ingredients are brought in from New York's Real Little Italy, Arthur Avenue.
"This restaurant had been recommended so we decided to try it. Interesting Cavelike ambiance, very noisy, great for large groups...But then came the surprise. We had the best service we have ever had. 4 of us decided to order appetizers, pizza and salads and share it all rather than a main plate. When we were served, our waitress took it upon herself to bring it all as if it were different courses. She brought the pizza first, then the salad, then the meat dishes thyen the seafood. She divided it all and served each of us and was so delightful. The food was excellent and we would go back...but be warned, they cater to alot of large parties"

"Seated promptly for our 8:30pm reservation. Host was cordial upon arrived...but not attentive to guests that were leaving. My husband initiated saying goodbye and to say "thank you." Customer service should not only be to greet incoming clients but outgoing ones as well. Wait person was friendly. Seated by the window...right next to the bar... very noisy! Hard to converse. Polipo alla griglia... excellent starter...soft.. great flavor! Zuppa di cocozza was flavorful but too watery...expected richer consistency. My husband had the linguini al nero di seppia...loved it! The chef accomodated by adding extra garlic. My radiatori in cartoccio...delicioso! Flavors were well blended and rich. Nice date place. Likely will come back again."

"Like the original in the Bronx zero has outstanding pizza and great appetizers for sharing among a big group. The entrees Rees were very good and everything arrived on time. The space is and attractive and the buzz is high as it is filled with lots of groups of vibrant young people."

"Great food and ambiance. The pastas are simply the best, particularly the in Cartoccio. The seafood salad is a great mix of the freshest seafood and makes a good appetizer to share. Portions are amply sized and the pizza is one of the best around. My only nit is that they have a long list of "specials" (no prices mentioned) and some of the prices are way above even the most expensive entrees on the menu. But it's definitely a "be back"."

"The food is truly wonderful as is the service but we sat in the front near the bar. If you do so, note that you'll feel trains rumbling below you throughout your meal. Not a deal breaker but I've been there before and ate in the back and did not detect the same vibration (or at least level of vibration aka glass shaking). Will go back for another round."

"Excellent, attentive service. Pizzas were delicious (wide selection). Gnocchi special was a bit bland and uninspired. I'd like to come back and try some of the other pasta dishes. I think this place has a great future."

"Pretty good to great southern Italian food. Great ambiance. On a Saturday night, fully booked, with a bachelorette party going on near us, noise levels were fine. Service was attentive but not to the point of being a distraction. Water glasses got filled when needed, and when one of our party dropped their fork on the floor, a new one was offered about 30 seconds later, no request needed.
The radiatore pasta cooked in tinfoil was pretty fantastic, and the polpettine with spicy red sauce were very good. Wine list was varied, a lot of emphasis on southern Italy as well.
Overall very good experience, would definitely go back."

"Took a loud group of 10 people there on a Friday night. We fit right in as even the small tables of two were having a lively time. Food was fantastic and not your traditional Italian faire - lots of interesting twists on classic favorites.
So while I wouldn't recommend this for a quiet engagement dinner, this is definitely a blast for most other fun / celebratory occasions."

"Maybe the pizza and pasta are ok, didn't try them. I had chicken and my friend had veal. The waitress recomended both dishes and they were over cooked, dry and tough. Really disappointing."

"What a great little restaurant. I found Zero Otto Nove while in New York on Business. Stopped in for dinner one night making my reservation through OpenTable. From the minute I entered the staff was very hospitable, attentive and friendly. The food is absolutely tremendous. I've never been one for eating Brussels sprouts but even those in the dish I ordered were tasty. Bread with olive oil as one would expect at a respectable Italian restaurant. They have a nice wine list with options by the glass or bottle from inexpensive to high end. The dessert selection is also lengthy and of course fantastic quality. I highly recommend checking them out."

"We were very happy with this find and we are foodies. We had the special pizza of the day as a shared appetizer. Amazing. Our meals were very good and innovative. The rigatoni with squash puree, peas and porcinni mushrooms were perfection. The veal medalions were different and delicious. The meal rating would have been excellent if the zuppa de mer had been evenly heated so the seafood was evenly cooked. Service could not have been better. I'd definitely would return."

"The location was so convenient, that I figured there would have to be a problem with the restaurant, however, I was totally wrong. Our dinner party all agreed: very good to excellent for food, service and ambiance.
We arrived early, and were seated at a private table against the wall, which I prefer. The menu was so appealing that we had a real problem in deciding, that the kind of problem that you want.
A very enjoyable experience for our first visit to this establishment"

"We celebrated my son's birthday with a group of nine adults. We were not rushed (we had two members of our party delayed a bit). It was a Wednesday night. We were all able to converse without shouting, which was wonderful. Food was terrific. we are a fan of the sister restaurants in the Bronx and were not disappointed. Would definitely return."

"Very disappointing for someone who goes to Roberto's and ZON in the Bronx. Food was fair at best with dried out Gnocchi, poor quality mozzarella on the caprese salad and overly intrusive staff. Restaurant was mostly empty so others have figured this out before me."

"I was a bit weary of going here since I was able to make a reservation 3 days before for 12 people at 8 PM on a Friday night. My worries, however, were put to rest as soon as our first appetizer was served. The food was delicious! The pasta was homemade, the pizzas were tasty, and the service was attentive. Everyone in our group commended me on the choice of restaurant and literally every person said their meal was great - that doesn't happen often with 12 people! Overall, I would recommend, especially for group dining."

"A friend and I had dinner there recently, tho not my first time. We both had salads, mine was field greens, and my friend had a seafood version (with plenty of seafood riding atop the greens), both excellent. I had the pasta special (buccatelle, porcini mushrooms, light broth) that was delicious, and my friend had a pasta dish from the menu which he loved. The manager/sommlier knew his stuff and pointed us to a very nice bottle of wine. And our server that evening was charming, patient, and did everything he could to be sure our dinner was relaxing and pitch perfect."

"Top notch, home style Italian food with a excellent wine list including some choices from Salerno (unusual here in NY). The service was great, friendly and efficient with good suggestions from the menu. The decor makes you feel like you're in a trattoria in Italy and there's good spacing between the tables so you don't feel over crowded. Overall, a lovely dining experience - we plan to return soon."
