"While parking was inconvenient and the restaurant itself was difficult to find, our mood quickly shifted once our food arrived! Delicious beet salads, amazing shrimp and fried mahi mahi tacos, spicy olives and hands down the best paella I've had in a very long time. We even had wine along with it and managed to spend less than $100 for the two of us. Our server was very helpful in navigating us through the tapas menu."

"Was my second time here. Instead of the bar we had a table and I used a voucher. Great service and lovely waitress despite the voucher :)
We had wine, shared the Cheese and Charcuterie. Was not a fan of the goats cheese selected but if you slathered the cherry sauce on top it tasted much better - sauces and mustrads were yummy and hot! Loved the Manchego and the selection of meats, onions, sunflower seeds etc were great. We tried the empanadas but the ones at La Maria's on Burbank Blvd are much better.

"Our first time there using open table reservation and they did not want to sit us outside saying even though there were tables available - hostess stated they were already reserved. WE also had reservations, but we sat the bar tables. We sneaked and asked a couple that got seated where we asked 30 minutes later than we showed up, and they said they did not have reservations at all.
I guess since they give a portion of proceeds to open table, they would prefer not to give you the prefered tables and keep them available for walk-in patrons.
Good, food, great service from our waiter, however management/hostess way of treating us did not nice AT ALL."

"Dropped off surprise ice cream cake early. When arrived for dinner, same hostess ruined the surprise. Many Gluten Free options, ordering was a breeze. Fantastic dinner-Chicken Confit Tacos & Evolution Paella w/Scallops. Stress free & fabulous dinner. Cut "cake", was ABSOLUTE SOUP. No way that it would have melted that much if stored in freezer when I dropped it off. Put in refrigerator instead? Used hot plates? When packed in a Carvel box saying “Ice Cream Cake”, no way to misunderstand. Other guests gamely sopped up the soup anyway, but when you spend $45 on a cake and pay $20 for a cake cutting fee, upset when surprise is ruined, cake is melted (thus no 5-10 or so pieces left over), & didn't save the peeled off cake image. Not happy."

"It was our first time dining at this restaurant. The greeting was pleasant and we were seated earlier than the reserved time. It was a set menu for brunch and very limited in choice. One of us does not eat eggs and there were three choices for the main which all included eggs. The kitchen removed the egg from one dish and added 2 slices of thick cut bacon which was tough and inedible. Our waitress was nonchalant about our complaint and did nothing to address it. She shrugged and moved on. The other dish ordered contained undercooked potatoes. The mimosas were the saving grace. We will not be eating there again."

"We chose this restaurant through your Web sight, for Mothers Day Brunch. The food was really not very good, the bacon was tuff as nails and the food combinations where very not very tasty. Service was slow and we we're served luke warm water at the table , it was a 105 out that day, some ice would of been nice."

"What a delightful surprise to find this restaurant so near our home. Lovely patio, friendly & helpful service, along with delicious food. We found it through Open Table. I had empanadas with a delicious dipping sauce. My husband had scallops which were cooked to perfection. The drinks selections were overwhelming. I had a delicious sangria. When we return, we will add in our reservation on Open Table that we want to sit in the patio. When we arrived we were told that there were other reservations for the patio so we had to eat indoors. During our meal and afterwards when we were leaving, we noted that many tables on the patio were empty. When we return & place our reservation through Open Table, we will request to sit in the patio."

"first time to Bow & Truss for Brunch. Love the atmosphere, both inside and on the patio. The Brunch menu was a bit clunky, and could use some attention, but the food that was offered was good. The breakfast tacos I ordered were on small tortillas; the same size as those on the regular menu, and the ingredients were fresh and tasty, but the presentation of three small, somewhat awkwardly stuffed "tacos", was underwhelming. Another friend ordered the waffles and was quite happy with them. Excellent coffee too. The menu just needs a bit more attention. Will definitely be back for their evening menu and incredible cocktails, and if there is a revamp to the brunch menu, will be back to try that as well."

"Food very good. We ordered several tapas which seem reasonably priced but they can add up very quickly. Our favorite was the pulled pork tacos. Very good spanish wines by the glass as well as a yummy sangria. Cheesecake was great as well as the chocolates.

"It was my first time going to Bow & Truss. The sangria was delicious and the atmosphere was great. We started off with the shrimp tacos, pork tacos, and chicken condfit tacos. I have to say the pork were my favorite. Then we each ordered a different paella... Be warned these aren't your traditional paella, which is what we were expecting. They were similar to jambalaya. So if you like bold Spanish flavors and have a spicy palate, this is the place for you."

"Another great meal/experience at Bow & Truss. We particularly and would recommend the paella (earth, walking) and love the mini tacos. Most of the menu is outstanding. We tried the Sope this time and it was great. If just two of us, we like to sit at the inside Bar. Bartenders are knowledgable about drinks and menu and they are extremely friendly. Try a signature or old school drink, you won't be disappointed. Love the red sangria. Outdoor patio is huge and nicely decorated, oasis in this lively part of town. Try the subway to the Noho stop. Also small plates are great for pre movie at Laemmles."

"I am a big fan of Bow & Truss, and love that it started a bit of a restaurant and bar renaissance on Magnolia in North Hollywood. The food is always tasty - I recommend always ordering a lot to share - even the entrees. The tacos are all super tasty, and I LOVED the breakfast tacos at brunch. The specialty cocktails are inventive, fresh and super delicious... try the Dolores Park Swizzle. The outdoor seating is awesome for groups, and a great choice all year round. My one complaint? Frequently on weeknights they only have one bartender working the bar, and if you come in with a big group after work, or even just by yourself, it can take FOREVER to get a drink."

"Service was slow. Hostess had to be reminded to turn on the gas heaters twice. Food took a very long time coming (even easy to prepare appetizers). Sherry was in the smallest wine glass I've ever seen. Vegetarian paella was very good and the charcuterie plate was more than ample. Anchovy appetizer was a meal in itself. Not a bad value, just a little disappointing all in all."

"We enjoy Bow and Truss. They offer a nice take on Spanish tapas, offering approachable dishes for the hesitant and some well executed authentic items (e.g. marinated white anchovies) to flesh out the menu as well.
A couple of suggestions, if a seasonal menu is offered, keep up. Fried smelt are out of season and yet remain on the menu. The small two top tables are too tight for tapas and make enjoying the parade of small plates, a glass of wine and the too early arrival of the entree a study in frustration. This impaired our full enjoyment of both the food and the evening. It is what it is of course, and this place remains above the line when compared to others in the area."

"Anyone in their 30's and 40's looking for a good place in the Valley for a nice bite to eat, a well-mixed cocktail and an age-appropriate scene, this is your place. The staff was friendly (especially the fun group behind the bar), the meal enjoyable and there were a surprising number of singles hanging out on a Saturday night. And a tip - ask for the secret cheesecake. It's delicious but it's not on the menu. Because it's secret."

"So much potential. This restaurant gets everything right except for the food. Ambiance, presentation of dishes, great service, etc. but the food was lacking. Unfortunately that is why I go to restaurants so I won't be back to this one. We started with the cheese board with bread and jam, which was awesome. However it was all downhill from there...we had empanadas which were soggy and lacking in flavor. Next up was the fish tacos, which nobody knew they were fried and gigantic in relation to the tortilla they were resting upon. After that we had shrimp ceviche, which was so acidic I was waiting for it to bore a hole thru the glass it was sitting in. Next came the "walking" paella, which was terrible."

"Been here twice already and I'm a fan! They have a well-curated Spanish-inspired menu and top of the line service. The food looks and tastes divine, but those who like super-sized portions and over-the-top flavors be warned: Bow & Truss offers a refined flavor palette and the portion sizes to match. While I've only sampled a few, they seem to take pride in their cocktails which have ingredients made entirely from scratch so for those who like these types of libations, it seems a waste not to try them when there. The servers are always on top of their game and the atmosphere is superb! The outdoor seating has two options - casual and then a bit more loungey - and the indoors have the easy vibe of a converted warehouse gone gourmet."

"This was the 2nd time we've been to Bow & Truss. The food was good, though we found the menu a bit esoteric for our tastes. My only complaint would be in the service. Whereas we had an Open Table reservation, we still had to wait about 15-20 minutes to get sat, even though the restaurant wasn't full, plus I think the host forgot about us (once WE checked back in, we were seated immediately). Whereas our server was friendly, accommodating, and fairly attentive, we must have sat at our table for about 5 minutes before she approached us (she told us that she had just arrived)."

"Really underwhelmed by this place. Even with a reservation, waited fifteen minutes for a table. The staff seemed generally confused; started with one waitress, taken over by another, who proceeded to almost never check in. But other members of the staff would come by, even after we'd been sitting there for 45 minutes and ask, "have you been taken care of?" Odd. First two courses came out. They were just okay. Then we waited for 45 minutes for the next two courses, which were also just okay. The paella tasted like it had been microwaved when they figured out it had been sitting there for 45 minutes. The server looked vaguely guilty at the end of the night, but didn't way anything. Honestly, just a weird experience."
