Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
To mark the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Regency Room, The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center has completed renovations and a refresh of the historic restaurant.
Diners will notice new drapes, upholstery and carpeting, but the biggest change is a wall of opaque French doors that allows for more intimate dining on one side and the establishment of a private dining facility for groups or meetings on the other.
Offering Southern, inspired French cuisine, what we have is celebrated. The ambiance. The service. The charm. Your options range from sumptuous breakfast and lunch buffets to superior a la carte dinners in an elegant, traditional setting
Since 1938, The Regency Room has remained at the heart of the Roanoke social and cultural experience. With our seasonal menu offerings, complimentary valet parking for Regency Room diners, new entertainment, and an opportunity to sample what southwestern Virginia has to offer, every night is special.
"Dinner was exquisite. Great food. Great service. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Leisurely but not slow. Overall a great place to dine with someone special. Avoid Sunday brunch as food quality and service suffer. Dinner from the menu with full service is superb."

"It's rare to eat at a buffet and that you enjoy everything you eat. There's also great service and a quiet dining room that is appointed beautifully."

Review 4 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"A wonderful choice for a special occasion. We were celebrating our daughter's college graduation with out of town family members, and everyone loved the restaurant! The chef even came out to personally greet us at our table. The food was wonderful, the service was incredible (Thanks, Kelly!) and I would absolutely recommend that you dine here."

Review 6 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"The live music was wonderful (well played and good selections) but a bit too loud for my taste....I should have requested a table farther away from the musicians but I didn't realize that they were going to be playing throughout the evening. Everything else at the Regency Room was absolutely wonderful."

Review 8 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"This is a great place to have brunch. The space is newly renovated and features breakfast items, including made to order omelettes) in the main dining room, with more lunch oriented items in the adjacent room. The peanut soup is fantastic, but really all of the food is of great quality.
The atmosphere has a semi-formal feel to it, but you see a mix of attire throughout. A piano adds to the more upscale feel.
The only negative I can find is that the service is often wanting. The buffet attendants are fantastic, helpful, and seemingly happy to engage with you. The wait staff... not so much. Over the course of 6 or more visits, we've always found like we were imposing to ask for things like more coffee. Shameful."

Review 9 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"The Regency Room, like the Hotel Roanoke, succeeds mostly on its laurels from an illustrious past and less on what it delivers present-day. In its current iteration, the newly remodeled Regency Room exudes an air of sophistication that is only skin deep. For those of us who have enjoyed dining here for years, service levels and food quality have diminished. Even tried and true specials of the house, like spoon bread, bread pudding and peanut soup, reflect recipes tweaked for cost savings. The Regency Room is stilll a special place, and our Sunday brunch was enjoyable, just not as impressive as we remember."

Review 10 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"The atmosphere was incredible. You'll feel pampered and polished. The food left something to be desired. The grilled chicken, rice pilaf, rolls, and desserts were good. All of the other selections were mediocre; almost akin to institution-style food. The atmosphere and service made up for the disappointing menu. Although, at $16 per person for the buffet, a pricing revision seems to be in order."

Review 14 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"Unfortunately we had to walk out of the Regency Room without eating. The service was terrible. We waited for an hour eating only bread and water and had to ask for bread several times before our waitress would bring it. Quite disappointed. Food choices look great. They sat us all in a clump when there were lots of tables in other areas. The long table behind us was loud and obnoxious."

"Had not been in 10 years and was so pleased with our experience. Family of 6 including 5 yr old. Dining room recently redecorated and brighter than I remember. Welcomed immediately by staff and service thereafter impeccable. Very attentive but not intrusive. Made child feel special also. Food delicious and drinks also. Would highly recommend."

Review 20 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"A TREMENDOUS disappointment. The menu selections were incredibly overpriced (and given the frequency and variety of locations at which we dine our basis for comparison is solid). The the menu offerings were surprisingly limited and the food was mediocre, at best, all the way around. Although the room is quite comfortable, the lighting was barely adequate for reading the menu. The wait staff was pleasant but very inexperienced. The only potential plus to the evening was the entertainment – a talented trio of musicians whose music, unfortunately, overran conversation levels"

Review 21 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"My party of three was among the first seated during Sunday Brunch. Unfortunately upon arriving, they only had a table set up for two. A third seat (not quite as comfortable like the armed chairs) was brought in and my setting was hastily arranged.
Breakfast items were clean, crisp & delicious. Fair selection of fruits and quality items including meats, biscuits & potatoes. The waffles weren't that great, seemed like they were from frozen packages.
The Lunch side of the buffet was average as well. Nothing really spectacular stood out. Very pleased with the roast; it was tender and properly cooked.
Atmosphere was okay. Noise level is expected for a dining hall. Overheard another party greeted nicely as we were leaving - I wish we had"

Review 22 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"My husband and I ate at the Regency dining room for dinner before attending a concert. We let the server know that we were trying to be finished within an hour and a half and she did an excellent job of getting us out on time. The atmosphere and service at the Regency room are top notch. We had the pleasure of ordering off the "new menu". Our appetizers were the chicken liver pate' and she crab soup, both of which were excellent. My entree was the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection and the rock lobster tail, which was sadly disappointing (lacked taste). My husband had the lamb chops which were cooked and seasoned well, but seemed to lack flavor - possibly from the chops themselves. Cheesecake desert was also good."

Review 25 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"They have just reworked the dining room at the restaurant and it is beautiful. we went for valentines day. they gave each lady a long stem rose, very nice. service was good without interfering with us. presentation was nice, steak and seafood choices were good, as well as the lobster bisque soup as appetizer. they had a three piece band, and the music was excellent(not too loud or too soft) penetrating all parts of the dining area, many couples danced on their small dance floor. if you eat at the restaurant, they offer valet parking at the hotel roanoke's parking lot for free, just ask for a sticker when leaving. we will definitely be going back for special occasions."

Review 26 for Regency Dining Room - The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center
"My wife and I went shortly after the Regency Room remodel. It was our first dinner at the Regency, and my wife is very difficult to please, so it was a bit of a risk, especially being Valentines Day. But as we left, she said she was "pleasantly surprised" and looked forward to going back. The she crab soup was a high point. Her filet was a high quality cut of beef and perfectly prepared. Wine enthusiasts will be very satisfied by the selections, though we would have benefitted from a sommelier -- there was not one available and our server did not have suggestions. This is a romantic spot, but we did see many groups of 4 or 6 and I think the next time we go it will be with other couples. I highly recommend giving the Regency Room a try."
