Cafe du Bois offers casual fine dining that will be relaxed but of the highest quality. Using only the freshest ingredients the chefs prepare every dish to order. There are more than 35 menu items on the dinner menu and a selection of 9 salads and 10 sandwiches on the lunch menu. The regular menu is supplemented by the Specials selection which is rotated regularly. The dinner menu includes a selection of steaks with a choice of the classic sauces and also a very popular selection of fish including the top-selling Chilean sea bass
with lobster sauce. We are the only restaurant in the area to offer both Chateaubriand and Rack of Lamb on our regular menu.
A choice of drinks is available from the selection of nearly 50 local and imported wines and a full liquor selection.
We pride ourselves on offering a quiet ambiance that allows our guests to enjoy visiting with their friends while enjoying our attentive service and excellent food.
"Wonderful menu, complemented by the lovely voice of Pam. The food, service, and ambiance was unexpectedly good. I would definitely go again. Keep it up, new management!"

"This restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in Houston! All the food ordered by our party of 5 was prepared superbly and the presentation of the salads and main dishes was absolutely beautiful. The servers were absolutely the most attentive and no glass even approached 1/2 empty. Our primarily adult party with a 2 year old were well taken care of and food was always available for the child, which made our dinner an enjoyable experience. This is a "must try" restaurant as both the beef and seafood dishes were expertly prepared, presented, and served! GREAT place to impress your out of town clients."

"The food was great and the guitar player made for a nice ambiance in a quiet restaurant. The service was very friendly and tried to be helpful. They just didn't have any knowledge of foods or wine. For a French restaurant and this price level, it just didn't match up. If it had been at Chili's, it would have been great. The food was great and the guitar player made for a nice ambiance in a quiet restaurant."

"We came to Cafe Dubois with some members of our adult Sunday School class, They loved it, the location, the service, the food. We get asked almost weekly about when we will be going there as a group again. Ha! Ha! I think we created a monster :) The delicious food at Cafe Dubois can be addicting."

"This is a restaurant for people who appreciate a dining experience. Good food and presentation and the service was all that you could wish for. The classical guitar player added an overall genteel ambiance to the restaurant. I have been many times for lunch, which is perfect for a quiet twosome, or a group. This is definitly not a 'family' restaurant - but more mature children would be welcome. The Patio menu is great if you want a quick snack, with a glass of wine on the patio."

"I figured something was wrong as there was only 6 people dinning on a Saturday night at 8:30 and we were 2 of the 6! I caught a look at the computer and we had the only reservation for the evening. I was actually asked if I had a reservation when we walked in! The service was quick and adequate but nothing like Chez Nous were you are pampered the whole way. The mango and avocado salad was very good as was my wife's lobster bisque. I ordered the ribeye, medium and it came out medium well! The pepper sauce tasted like it had come from a bottle. The potatoes and fresh veggies were OK. My wife had the jumbo shrimp with crab meat. The shrimp was so over cooked it was like eating rubber. The veggies smelled like fish, yuck! We will not return."

"Cafe duBois has become one of our favourite spots for breakfast and for romantic dinners. Friday night have very tasteful live music, that is soft enough you can actually have a conversation. The Saturday morning breakfasts are on par price wise with other restaurants, but the food is clearly fresher, and presented very well. Service is top notch, and the staff treat you like you are family. Very hospitable. We brought 12 other with us last Saturday morning, and everyone had a great time, with a fantastic breakfast."

"The food was good, the people were polite, the service was excruiatingly slow. We arrived at 12:45 on a Friday for lunch and I had a salad. It took over 0 minutes or us to ge our food. I witnessd a take out order being eceived, the mnanager telling teh claler that his order would be ready in 20 minutes ... and it was. I saw the entire transaction from my chair. Odd that an order placed after mine (which again - was a SALAD!) would be completed earlier. Several people from our church go there for breakfast and often have the very same comments. I liketo eat out but I will coose to give my money to places that respect my time Maybe if I had only place a to- go order ...."

"The food is excellent and the wine list extensive. I especially enjoyed their new spinach and strawberry salad - a combination of sweet and tart. On the weekend, they have live music with a single guitar player who has an extensive repertoire. It adds just the right touch to the evening which is how I selected this restaurant over others in the area."

"We went on Valentine's night with a reservation. The whole experience was very good! Food was very good, and we loved the presentation! Very classy place - a rare find in the suburbs. We sat in the front room which is very private, and although the atmosphere was excellent for a romantic dinner for two, we would have preferred that they dimmed the lights and maybe had candles on the table to perfect the ambiance. The live singer in the main room could be heard from the front room, which was fine because it wasn't too loud - just right! We recommend Cafe Du Bois for a romantic night out!"

"My husband and I celebrated Valentines Day on the patio and it was spectacular. They have a little garden area with a bird house and garden decor that was fun to watch the darling birds play. The Lobster-Yocon potato bisque was outstanding with just a little kick to it. The sourdough bread sliced very thin is always yummy. Our salads were great too. Only problem was the waitress was very slow and rarely came outside. When I didn't like my dressing and wanted to get another my husband had completely eaten his meal by the time she ever came back from delivering our food so I could ask for another dressing."

"We have lived in the neighborhood for years and finally decided to try this restaurant, and are we glad we did. The rack of lamb was delicious, as were the appetizers we tried. One of the owners was there and he was very helpful when the wine we wanted was not available. He produced a terrific alternative. We were there to celebrate a family birthday and the quietness was much appreciated, so the family could enjoy each others company and everyone could be easily heard. There was a guitarist in the main dining room that was outstanding, and the soft music enhanced the quiet yet special atmosphere for the evening. We will definitely return now that we've 'discovered' Cafe du Bois."
