"Went for Mother's Day. They had a great brunch beautifully laid out. Constantly refreshing empty dishes or dishes that had been there for a while. Waitress service was fantastic, speedy, polite and friendly. The food was great too. Lots to chose from. Will definitely be back. Also validates parking which is super."

"So - stumbled upon this place thanks to Open Table...and we LOVE it! It is a "Fine Diner" for sure...great atmosphere, ambience, and the service is spot on. Priced extremely well, and food that is really quite wonderful...becoming one of our favorite "regular" spots for Brunch on the weekend."

"Like to dine at places we have never been to before. The Skylark was a great find and we will go back to enjoy more of the fabulous menu. Staff interaction was a plus. Atmosphere like no other "diner". From the cocktails through the dessert no disappointment."

"Food was excellent and the wine special prices were worth the trip alone! Our server was perfect.....attentive but did not hover, ensuring we enjoyed our appetizer, and our drinks were replenished timely. One person's steak was overcooked, which they addressed quickly. A little disappointing as she had to wait for about 10 min while we were eating, but the meal was incredibly tasty. Order the chocolate lava cake. Delicious. A little slow bringing the coffee and tea afterwards, but they were very busy and plenty of larger groups in our section. Only significant issue was the bill, which was somehow combined with a portion from the next table. We had to send the bill back twice for correction. But, still a great meal."

"The dining experience was superb. Skylark provides a diverse menu of fine foods that are made by a master chef and with high quality ingredients. The contemporary decor provides a great atmosphere, and the entire staff was cordial, efficient and highly knowledgeable . I highly recommend Skylark as a first choice."

"I found Skylark online at the last minute for a quick dinner. So glad I did. The steamed mussels and salad to start were excellent. The bolognese pasta dish was prepared perfectly. Ended the dinner with the chocolate lava cake. Superb. I work in Jersey City, the spring is here for a stroll on the boardwalk, and no reason not to visit Skylark again and again."

"very attentive service. waiter was quick to notice my daughter's indecisive nature and suggested sliders. perfect. chocolate bread pudding dessert disappeared quickly. mushroom risotto was tasty and flavorful, but not overpowering, which can be tough to accomplish when you use wild mushrooms. my one concern wasn't actually with the food; it was with an after-dnner drink order. I ordered a cappuccino with a shot of sambuca liqueur on the side. whenever i have ordered this in the past, the sambuca came as a side in an after dinner drink glass with a coffee bean garnish. this time, it came on the side in an espresso cup, with no garnish---and it was black. never seen black sambuca before. I still drank it, but i did find this curious."

"The menu and description (and the sister restaurant in Edison, NJ) made us believe that this restaurant is kid-friendly. It isn't *really*. We were told that, despite items on the kids menu saying "comes with fries" - they changed it and you have to order a side separately. They also brought the childrens' food on plates so hot that the server couldn't touch it without a towel. There was no reason for their plates to be under hot lights, since we asked for them to be brought out whenever they were ready. To be fair - this restaurant shouldn't be child-friendly. It's hip and vibey and would make a good date spot. The brussel sprouts were delightful. The adult meals (crab cake, grown up grilled cheese) were average."

"We had a group of six for dinner. Everyone raved about their meals. Food was creative, well-made and portions appropriate. The oysters with blood orange granita were quite good; loved the creativity. Pricing was fair for the entire menu and we also enjoyed happy hour with inexpensively priced wines and beer. I will go back"

"The food is definitely the big winner. Succulent U-10 dry scallops infused with smoked bacon was cooked to perfection. The crab cakes were wonderful. Upscale take on crispy fried chicken. Chicken had a nice crust but was still juicy-balanced with a tangy dipping sauce. The mac and cheese is not your out of the box type-creamy and full bodied. The wait staff tried very hard, but youth and inexperience gets in the way. The decor makes you feel like you are in an oversized diner. That said, the food was so good we'll go back"

"I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and my mother when she was in town visiting. This place was perfect! Service was fantastic, and the food was amazing. I had the surf and turf special (a filet and half a lobster tail for $25, how could I not!) and was very pleased with my decision. In terms of drinks, the frambois fizz was delicious. Our waiter also brought us some squash ravioli to taste (trying it out before adding it to the menu), which was so nice of him, and a great treat! After the meal, we joined the restaurant's loyalty program, since we will certainly be returning to this great spot!"

"We had an amazing time at the restaraunt, we were running late but the restaurant were more than accommodating, my fiancé had limited options on the menu due to being vegetarian and unable to eat certain foods (please note that the restaurant offers a substancial vegetarian menu but the options included things that my fiancé is unable to eat) the waitress was very helpful and offered a number of solutoons to ensure this did not effect our evening. The atmosphere was very good and prices matched the standard of food and quality of service. We would hoth definately recommend the restaurant for a romantic meal, groups, celebrations and if your travelling fom manhatten, save some money on the taxi, walk to the newport/39th street ferry."
