"I have a lot of fun at this restaurant every time I go. The margaritas, I'll admit, are the biggest draw for me; the Cadillac and the Evolutionary margaritas in particular.
Most of the entrés are good, but not mind-blowing. However, if you find the right thing, you will definitely come back for it. One of our favorites is the Filet Quesidilla. Technically an appetizer, we order several rounds of this. It essentially replaces our main meal half the time.
Service is sub-par, however. The staff does their job, but I've had far friendlier and more attentive service at many other places. This would be something easy to improve.
Overall, though, we do enjoy this place."

"This place was packed - thank goodness I'd made a reservation - without one the wait was over 40 minutes. As it was we had to wait - that and the noise level were the worst of it. It is so loud when the place is busy - it is difficult to have a conversation.
The service was terrific and the food is so flavorful - just outstanding. You don't have to wait for anything once you are seated - timely arrival of food and drinks, and our server checked back many times to see if all was ok or if we needed anything - perfect job.
I Will go back - just not on a Saturday night :)"

"Service was slow when the crowd was thin and got even slower when the crowd started coming in. They had run out of anything "fish" on the menu. We were there for the first hour of opening which means that they ran out the previous evening and never re-stocked for the following day's lunch service. My order was very enjoyable but the rest of my party of 7 weren't quite as thrilled. I guess perhaps because four of them had their heart on having something "fishy." There just isn't a way to satisfy a palate that's been conditioned for something else unless the alternative is truly exceptional."

"The food was excellent and our waitress was great. The only problem was that the manager that sat us at our table sat us at a table that had not been cleaned and did not seem to even notice. The waitress apologized and cleaned up right away. The General Manager came over to apologize as well."

"We had dinner here Sat. evening after going to the movies. We were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. The food and drinks were fair, nothing to get excited over, or rush back to again, but not bad that I wouldn't go again. Don't expect a quiet dinner. The service was good, no complaints."

"HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY! We got there an hour and a half early so we could eat before the movie. The service was non-existent. Even when we told the waiter we needed to get to a movie. We ordered the flight of tequila and 25 minutes later, cancelled it. We had some appetizers but never got to order dinner. Absolutely ridiculous. It wasn't even that busy. Don't sit on the patio unless you have a lot of time and like to be ignored. HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY!"

"Made an Open Table reservation for 6:15PM on Feb. 16th; requested a booth. We arrived on time and there were three empty booths. I was pleased as I was sure one of them would be ours. To my dismay, the two couples who were standing in front of us with no reservations, walk-ins, were given the two empty booths. When I got to the counter I asked for a booth as we had one reserved. The hostess could not find our reservation on her list. When I said it was an Open Table reservation, she then went to the computer and found our name. Apparently, they don't follow the Open Table reservations as closely as their reservation book. We then had to sit at a table. Very disappointing!!! Hostess was very indifferent about her mistake. JFK"

"We always enjoy this El Torito Grill. Enjoy eating there before going to the movies. Service is outstanding. Food always good. The only consistnt problem with the food, is the tortillas. They are always, and I mean always underdone. This is for both the flour and corn. Both could be baked much longer. They are never brown enough."

"The sea bass was surprisingly delicious considering you kind of expect not-so-hot mexican food. It was prepared in a nouvelle Californian way, grilled, on a bed of wilted spinach. Unexpected and really good. The drinks are ridiculously expensive considering they come in a thimble. The only place with similarly tiny glasses is Sky Bar, but El Torito is NOT Sky Bar. A teeny tiny little margarita is $9. I asked for a second margy in a normal-sized margy glass, and the price rocketed to $18. For a margarita. The place is always packed, noisy and full of kids, but if you're just stopping in for a bite before or after a movie it's fine. Our server was great, but overworked with too many tables."

"I always enjoy dining at El Torito Grill. The service is always very quick and the food is consistently good. I would recommend the Shrimp Diablo (only if you like spicy food) or any of the Fajitas. For dessert, I would highly recommend the Deep Fried Icecream."
