"I had gone to this restaurant before and was not unhappy the first time I went. This time however they were short staffed and the service was among the worst I have ever experienced. Fifteen minutes before we even got bread ( I had to beg the hostess to send some over. ) and we had to ask for butter as well. Waitress was detached and not engaging. Made no apology for the snail like service. When lunch arrived the salmon was about half the size of a deck of cards . . The only reason we had dessert was because a strong thunderstorm passed through and we did not want to go out in it."

"I go to terrain monthly, if not more, and what a disappointment this time was. I usually go Saturday, when there is hustle and bustle. The Sunday lunch timeslot seems to be a dead zone. We were forgotten about, my food was mushy and not even warm, my poached egg sloppily placed on a soggy bun. And the menu really needs to change. The brunch menu is getting stale. Always the same thing. It's a shame cause I love this place, and there are great waiters, and the food is better than most places. But not this last time. Hoping someone starts looking at the menu and other things."

"How fun to dine amongst the plants, eating warm, fluffy, delicious bread baked in a clay garden pot and having your dramatic and tasty meal served to you on a wood board."

"I took my parents here for a belated Mother's Day Brunch. We each enjoyed our meals immensely, all of which were the perfect amount of food. When we asked our gracious waiter about the origins of the Salmon, he was happy to inform us that it was wild caught, along with all of their other fish, and that they even have fresh delivery on Sundays. All of this, and locally sourced ingredients...Bravo!
The only thing we missed out on was the wine list. If my mother had known this was an option, she would have loved to order a glass to accompany her meal.
All in all, a very welcome edition to the area, and it's great fun to take a walk around the shop post-brunch. We will certainly be back."

"This is a delightful dining experience--inside or outdoors. The casual atmosphere features decor that is charming, the food is fabulous and the service was attentive but not over zealous. Go early and shop/browse the unique boutique environment outside the cafe. Be sure to try the wonderful bread and salted butter that comes with the meal. SO worth the calories. I highly recommend it."

"We have loved this spot in the past, my kids were huge fans the of fried chicken and waffle! This time food was bland (everyone reaching for salt), portions really small (six small, dry gnocchi) and waitress was polite but absent. Luckily, day was beautiful so the ambience was pleasantly distracting."

"I treated my friend to lunch for her birthday. The food was very good but we were seated at a table right by the kitchen. I was lightly bumped by waiters at least four times. Annoying."

"Consistently very good now for over a year. We brought our own wine and the corkage fee was very reasonable ($15). Can't wait for the weather to get better so we can eat outside!"

"This is a GREAT spot for brunch or lunch. It is in a high end garden store and you feel like you are outside somewhere in CA. The food is outstanding. The service is fantastic. Even my foodie husband loved it. Bring your girlfriends and stay to make a terrarium in the garden store!"

"Loved the Scallops - perfectly fresh, perfectly cooked with a brown glaze and tender, moist inside. Also enjoyed the Beet Salad. The wait-staff is right-on with wine recommendations and seeing to it that you have what your heart desires from the menu. I wanted to try the sweet potato hash, and was given a portion as a side to my main dish - really appreciated! The bread in a pot was fresh-baked, with a perfect crumb. The table setting inside this stunning garden shop was serene. I felt like we were at a private terrace in a lovely forest bower. We will go again!"

"Terrain, the restaurant is a GREAT concept. Unfortunately, the food is not great, which is disappointing because everything else is just plain wonderful. The menu was creative and exciting, the waitstaff is kind and efficient, the environment of a greenhouse was soothing. I sincerely hope they improve the food because;Terrain, the garden center, is a GREAT concept. This VERY large store (connected) to the restaurant, is outstanding! You will be wowed when you enter this calm, sensory experience, that is just extraordinary! Lush plants in abundance, home goods, clothing and accessories, lotions, soaps, candles and more."

"This is one of my favorites for sunday brunch. The menu doesn't change too often but I don't mind. It's hidden away in the store which leads to an interesting scene. Do make reservations as it fills up quickly."

"Terrain was amazing. The food was terrific as was the location and ambiance. Our waiter was the best. I can't say enough good things...wish I lived closer because I would be there frequently...but it's well worth the hour and a half drive! I felt like I had a little vacation...."

"Overall, we had a great experience. I ate some of the best scallops that I have ever had, and the mushroom polenta side was outstanding. However as always, in any meal out, there was some things that could have been better. My veggies, ramps or spring garlic, and potatoes were so salty! And the drinks were pretty weak. To make up for it a little bit, the dessert choice of almond bread pudding with ice cream was pretty darn amazing. I would def go back sometime."

"while the food was very good, the portion sizes were a complete joke and left us starving to go out to eat after we had our dinner at Terrain! I got the scallop appetizer to start, 2 tiny little scallops came on a plate, not on a bed of greens or anything surronding it. When it came i was like this it it? but I thought ok its just the appetizer Im sure the entree will be a normal size. Wrong! my fish came and it was the size of my index finger, it was about 3 inches the tiniest piece of fish I ever had. The risotti it sat on was only one scoop.
Need less to say we left the restaurant starving and headed over to another restauant, so we could actually get food and not fill up on desert somewhere. I would not reccomend coming to Terrain."

"This was my third time at Terrain (first time was about a month ago for dinner and second time was about 10 days ago for lunch and Saturday night for dinner again) and each time, the food and ambiance amaze me. The food is impeccably good, the servers are super friendly and the atmosphere is cozy yet open. Hands down - one of my top favorite restaurants in Fairfield County. When I was there at lunch, there were a few tables with kids - and it was packed at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Definitely a great choice!!!"
