La Tarte Flambée: if a Pizza and a crepe had a baby, it'd be a Tarte Flambée! Beers on draft, bottles, red wine, white wine, rose and sparkling! Come and try! you never had this before and you will be amazed...!!!
"This was a great find! I came here with 5 colleagues for a late dinner after a book signing, and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the servers were helpful and courteous. It's a great local spot and I will definitely go back the next time I find myself in the neighborhood."

"The place is tattered and worn--banquettes torn, décor scruffy--but the tarte flambee is as good as anything in Alsace that we have eaten and the service is impeccable and pleasant. It's only 2 blocks from the 92nd Street Y and this very convenient, but not classy so patrons should be forewarned (which we were not.) I'd return for sure."

I was looking for a new place to eat and we were very pleased with la Tarte Flambee. Could not stop ordering the lammekueches : tradionnelle, munster and biquette. We tried the beef tourte marianne (meatloaf wrapped in push pastry).
I will be back!"

"Excellent, authentic and unusual menu and beer/wine list. Single specialty (the Alsatian tarte flambee), done to perfection with many variations. Totally charming dining experience, unlike any other in NYC."

"The small restaurant is friendly and the traditional Tarte Flambe was delicious, though could have been hotter. The restaurant is quite small with a door that opens directly into the eating space - which is not great for cold nights but not a breaking condition given the satisfying food and opportunity to have an Alsatian specialty that does not seem to be available elsewhere in NYC (though have not tried The Modern's version but did try the Met's Cafe but prefer the version from Alsace that does not have cheese which the Met has). The location is a bit far from us as we come into the city from NJ and usually look for dinner places which are not too far from the exhibits which draw us into the city."

"We wanted a good but light meal before heading to the 92nd St. Y. This small, charming French restaurant was perfect.Cozy, amiable and excellent service, plus menu choices that were excellent."

"This is a lovely and authentic Alsatian spot. Their tarts are simply but absolutely delicious and we go back again and again. The servers are always great and one of these days I will take advantage of the all you can eat tart special!"
