A friendly neighborhood cafe located right inside the Muttart Conservatory, serving some of the freshest food in town. Goodness from greenhouse to plate.
"I had been to Culina Muttarts a few times and had great service and food so, when it was my turn to organize a place for our "cousins lunch", I immediately thought Muttarts. I knew they would also enjoy looking around- even purchasing the foods they make and sell. I wish the service had been a lot better but oh the yummy toasted vegetable sandwich! The server spent a lot of time chatting with the staff. We had to try and flag her down for service at every step of our lunch. A LOT of throwing dishes into a tub or whatever they use, was not great for ambience. I will go back and a couple of them will also as you wouldn't always get the same server. Like I say though, the rest was excellent."

"Was looking forward to a nice, tasty dinner and bottle of wine with my wife (as we've come to expect from Culina Mill Creek). Very, very disappointed with the food at Culina Muttart. Started with an extremely bland rabbit salad (1/8" water in bottom of salad bowl), followed by an average whitefish & scalloped potatoes entree (small portion, no vegetables). Dessert was a small coffee mousse (tasty, but lacking in presentation). For the money we paid, I was expecting much, much more. Will NOT go back."

"I was very excited to try Culina, I had read great reviews online. I thought the food was OK, not bad, not excellent, just OK. Our service was poor though. Our waitress never smiled, ran through the special in a monotone voice and when we asked her to repeat it, she looked like she was angry about it. The gentleman that refilled our coffees and beverages was pleasant though! Perhaps our server was just having a bad day (or was hungover...)."

"Girlfriends lunch date out at Culina's for the first time & will definitely eat here again! We both had the special with roasted garlic potatoes & salad (spinach, tomatoes, nuts, feta cheese) with the best maple, mustard dressing ever! The frozen cheesecake with berries was amazing. The service was prompt & friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed, yet fun. Took a tour of the pyramids afterwards with knowledgable friendly 'Jade". Overall we had a fun afternoon."

"Enjoyed a family lunch here. Atmosphere was good, it was a busy day and the staff were hopping. We had good service. Food was tasty but the portions are small for the price. My sons were still quite hungry after their meal and so was I. Still, it was a nice place to eat."

"The first course bread should have been a fresh french bread rather than a hard biscotti. Although the beef was very good , the dish needed a hot vegetable on the side rather than lettuce on the top. A small salad would have been more appropriate. Great setting but a fixed menu isn't so good. Not rushing back soon."

"We just moved into the neighbourhood and enjoyed brunch on the patio so much we thought our relocation dinner celebration should be there too. We were not disappointed! A lovely eating experience within walking distance. Most excellent! So nice to find food from local suppliers. Thanks for this. K & P McFarlane"

"We usually combine a trip to the conservatory with lunch at Culina. It's a lovely way to spend the afternoon. The food is very good and service pleasant if a little slow at times."

"Was here for Mother's Day and there was nothing at all special. I think they should have had a special menu or a buffett brunch or even given Mother's a flower for Mother's Day. You could not tell AT ALL that it was a special occasion. It was frustrating. Our server didn't even wish my Mom "Happy Mothers Day." The food and service were average though. I wouldn't really go out of my way to go there again."

"We made a reservation for Culina Muttart's Thursday night dinner for our anniversary. Culina's gluten-free accommodation has made the Mill Creek location a favourite, and the website said Muttart was also gf-friendly. Because we live nearby, we wanted to give them a try. Amanda, the server on that night, checked our reservation and saw that there was a gf meal noted. She called, very apologetic, to let us know that for the first time, there wasn't a gf option, and she offered to book a table at Mill Creek. After talking to my partner and finding out the situation, she spoke with the chef and called back to say that he would make a special meal. We had a wonderful night. Thanks Amanda for going the extra mile to make our anniversary special."

"My friend and I had Sunday brunch at Culina. The food was quite good, as was the service. Our only problem was the noise level. Granted we are not teenagers, but the combination of people's voices with a loud sound track from a ghetto blaster made it difficult to converse. We opted not to stay for coffee because it was just too loud. I'd suggest people of our age group (65+) find a quieter location for Sunday brunch, and go to Culina when it's not quite as busy. The other option is the patio, which was quieter, but there were no tables with umbrellas left."

"Children with us were served first which was smart & sensible. Most of the adult food was just fine except for the person whose birthday we were celebrating--watery soup and salad drenched in dressing (bottom of the bowl?). Portion sizes large, bordering on too large. The problem with the food order was similar to the last experience at another Culina location, hence, the title for the review."

"A wonderful location for the first warm weekend brunch in Edmonton; The setting is lovely and the decor is good. The hostess couldn't find my reservation - luckily the email was still in my BB; it might have been because the other couple had arrived and therefore the reservation was deleted or.. The food was enjoyed by all but the service was mediocre. Our server was friendly and wanting to be attentive but at times she appeared to be the only one serving during a very busy time frame (table changing over and never empty for long). However, I would definitely return; next time might try the Thursday dinner!"

"Food was very flavorful and I love that many of the greens and herbs are freshly grown. Only change that would have me bringing back many and referring this lunch destination would be if the portions were a little more generous.
Was a little hungry still."

"Unfortunately when we went Culina's fridge was broken and we were not able to order many things. Culina was also very busy, most likely as the Muttart had a busy week, so this was not one of our best experiences. I had prebooked a table hoping my partially deaf grandfather could be seated at the back and this too was not possible on this day. I have had better experiences there and will try culina again..."

"Love Culina! Such a great spot especially in the summer. Great food. The only comment I would make is that the waiters don't seem to smile a lot and that there was a draught from the front door every time it opened. Great food and location!"

"We were there for a 67th birthday lunch and enjoyed ourselves very much.
My only criticism would have to be the price of a bottle of wine at lunch: %65.00! Really!!? This is for Dona Paula or Jackson Triggs, which are available for around $12 at the Costco liquor store in Sherwood Park. So, give us older ladies--who love to lunch out but are on modest retirement incomes--a bit of a break, particularly at noon?"

"This was a special event brunch and the first visit for our two guests. We booked the first brunch seating. The restaurant was so loud that we could not hear each other talk. The service was good, in spite of the din.More importantly, the food for three of us was cold! Only the soup was hot. And the egg dishes were rather flat on flavour. The fried potatoes were excellent. Rather than send back almost the whole table of food, we tried our best to enjoy it and our special event. This brunch was in complete contrast to our previous experiences at Culina Muttart."

"I enjoyed Culina at the Muttart, but actually preferred Culina at the 99 Street location because the Muttart is so echoy that the noise level was unpleasant at times. Food was good. My friends could not finish their eggs benedict since the portions were large for them. Not sure how to review food, since I am not much of foodie."

"This was our first time here and we were not let down. The entrée of rabbit was both visually appealing and delicious, the service was friendly and personable and the ambience was peaceful. It was a great way to visit with friends. I loved how everything could be done online. Head to the website to check out the menu for the month, pick your date and reserve - it couldn't be easier! When you arrive, dinner is waiting for you - at the right price of $35 - perfect. I highly recommend Culina - Muttart Conservatory."

"Not a place for any business meal. This place is similar to a mall public eating area, very noisy. Servers have a very indifferent to careless attitude over everything. Unless yours is a family outing and an occasional need to feed hungry children, you may want to save the embarrassment in front of any friend or work associate."

"We went for brunch Sunday morning after having read the avenue magazine recommendation of Culina Muttart. Initially we were quite happy, the hostess was very friendly and fit us in earlier than our reservation time. The menu was nice, small though. We ordered the French toast, pastry basket and breakfast burrito. The pastry basket was dynamite! The French toast was also quite good. The burrito was lacking in flavor however and the service was atrocious. We sat with empty coffee cups and empty plates for so long that the friendly hostess had to come over and clear out plates and bring us coffee. Our server eventually brought us the bill and then when asked for debit, just dropped off the machine. Very poor."

"After reading that it was voted best brunch in Avenue Magazine we decided to try it out one Saturday. Invited friends to join us for the event and made the reservations. Service was not great but given that it was right at peak brunch hour, it was acceptable and understandable. Three out of the four of us decided to have the quiche special and my wife chose a soup feature.
The dishes came out in about 20 mins. Presentation was good, but the portion sizes were not impressive. The quiche dishes were not hot, or warm for that matter the most tasty item on the plate was the pickled onions on the leafy greens side. The soup my wife had was also not warm and did not have a lot of flavour.
Perhaps they were having an off day?!"
