Crawfish, a staple of Louisiana seafood, attracts thousands of visitors each year from all over the country to the region. The traditional Cajun way of serving crawfish is adding a special mix of homemade, southern style boil’s seasoning to a batch of crawfish. The boil is drained and dumped right onto the table. This style of food brings about a fun, social atmosphere for family and friends to gather during meal time. Add some beers and football and you have the perfect ingredients for a great time enjoyed by all. Our concept is centered around fun, friends, family and food. Utensils are discouraged. Getting hands on is encouraged. Crawfish are our mainstay, but we offer a good variety of seafood including shrimp, oysters, crab, and fish. Feel free to drop by anytime for to watch a game, enjoy good food and a few drinks!
"I'm a Louisiana native so I make it a point to check out anywhere that makes 'our' food. This place got rave reviews, but once I found out they don't cook the crawfish authentically, I didn't order them. They did allow me to try a couple and although they were cooked well, there was no flavor. They should be cooked in the sauce not sauteed in it. I ordered the Gumbo which had good flavor but the texture of the whole dish was mushy and I couldn't finish it. Hubby had the gator bites and crawfish mac n cheese. All were really good and their fries and drinks were excellent; beignets not good w/o sugar and strawberry dip. We'll go back to try other food and to drink and hang out."

"The food was excellent! Delicious seafood comes in large bags with choices of flavorings, corn and potato. A lite awkward to eat, but really yummy. All in all, top notch food but needs some fine tuning!"

"We booked a reservation for ten for our daughters Birthday. Table was ready when we arrived. Two of our guests couldn't make it so we told the hosts. They were understanding and quickly responded to the situation by removing a small table. They couldn't have been nicer about it! The food was great - 'Nawlins style! The service was outstanding and quick. They even brought dessert and sang Happy Birthday to our daughter! Couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable evening!!! Thank you!"

"We ordered the crawfish and shrimp. It was typical steamed in a bag with corn and potatoes. The gator bites was something new to try. If your craving for seafood and don't want to drive far to get the good stuff then this is your local place to stop in to satisfy your cravings. They have a bar and good drink specials throughout the weekend which is a nice pit spot. I most likely will not return for the food but probably for the happy hour."

"I have never eaten crawfish before, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! Chasin Tails really does it right. They serve you a plastic bag filled with crawfish, a potato (tiny potato, but that’s okay), corn on the cob, and enough butter to stop your heart. It was a great experience, and we will be back :)"

"If you don't break out of your box and try the fried green tomatoes and gator bites...well I just feel sorry for you. Gator is a meat like squid; do it right, it is tender and succulent, do it wrong and your jaw will have a nice work out. I can tell you right now that Chasin' Tails cooks know how to do it right! Fried tomatoes were on POINT (and even better when I reheated them in the oven the next day). I had gator bites and sweet potato fries and Mom had the catfish basket with Cajun fries. Add a side of tomatoes and some sausage and you have a nice meal (plus some leftovers)!"

"Chasin Tails is run by a family (maybe brothers?) who's parents both attended LSU. They clearly love creole cuisine and though it's not the cheapest experience it is absolutely delicious. You can adjust the heat / spice of the meal (very appreciated) and flavors yourself (you prefer more garlic? / More cajun spices? They'll be happy to adjust for you. Everything was clearly fresh and service was very good. The owners very much care that you're enjoying the food they've fallen in love with. I even heard the owner mention he wanted to invite the neighbors for a free dinner one night to apologize for a fire drill that occurred at some point. Very classy, I'll be going back as soon as I have time."

"The first rule of sales for a good restaurant is to know your market and Chasin' Tails has it nailed. Outstanding dining experience. The cost is comparable to similar upscale restaurants. Family/friends oriented without the silverware."

"I will say the food was overall good. Their unusual cooking style is interesting. In hope you like lots of butter. The serving style is just as unusual - no plates or silverware per say. But with crab you don't need much. I had the king crab in garlic and lemon. Medium heat. I enjoy garlic, but was suprised with the amount.
Overall good. Parking is a little shy... So bring quarters I'd the kiosk does not take credit cards. $1.25 per hr."

"Great food; the crawfish (and sauce) and the alligator were excellent. Good beer selection, drinkable inexpensive house wines. I love eating with my hands. Friendly staff. The plastic bag can be awkward but there are bibs and plenty of kitchen roll."

"We've been there a few times since it opened and it was good, but this experience was totally subpar. The waiter kept forgetting things, the food was just ok, and we had a couple of general service experiences that made us wonder if this place was starting to go downhill. It's too bad, because we love the location and the concept, but the food and experience weren't worth the money we spent. There are far better options nearby."

"We had been there before and loved the concept. My brother wanted a fun place to celebrate 5 years of being cancer-free. He loves picking crabs and I thought that this was just the place. He LOVED it. We were a group of eight, seated comfortably. We ordered three of the special mix -- 4 lbs of meat, corn, sausage and potatoes. The ladies had swamp salads and fried green tomatoes. It was messy, but there is a sink in the dining room to clean up and rolls of paper towels on the table. The beers were huge! The wait staff even brought him a birthday dessert."

"Good variety and food - crab legs were eh - and crawfish were small but it's not really season. I think shrimp are the best bet. Beignets are awesome"

"We are from Louisiana and having a restaurant that comes very close to down home food is great! The cajun spice seasoning is really really good. I was also impressed with the catfish and the wings. Great job!"

"This was my second visit to Chasin' Tails. The first time I went everything was so wonderful I decided to bring a bunch of friends. Unfortunately, the second time around wasn't quite as good. Those of us who ordered our crawfish "mild" found it too spicy. This was not the case during my first visit. Also, the waitress seemed to disappear a lot. When we wanted to order additional food she wasn't to be found, and after we finished eating we had to wait about 15 minutes to order dessert. Granted it was really crowded, but it was a little awkward after I'd talked the place up so much. On the plus side, the fried calamari and the french fries were amazing, and the crab legs we got that were actually mild were super tasty."

"Chasin Tails is a fun and funky place. Unusual concept. Large, large portions. We probably over-ordered and thus, the cost was kinda high. I don't think they understand wine. First, it isn't on the menu and second, it came out warm, no hot. The waiter saw us dumping ice from our water into the red wine and did bring us a glass of ice. I would definitely go back there."

"Waiter was inexperienced; didn't know how to pronounce beignets, even though it was supposedly a Cajun-themed restaurant. He did offer the bib for the lobster eater but offered no help in how to eat it. Salad was wilted but the fish portion was good. I had the Cajun dressing and requested a second helping and was delivered ranch dressing. Oh well!"
