Deep within a major boulevard, tucked under the cosmopolitan venues of Brooklyn brownstones, dances in our thoughts a familiar character that we can all relate to. He is juggling his light-hearted smile with a goblet in one hand, pipe in the other; the promise of your good time sparkling in his eyes. He is our Satyr, and meant to remind all that enter our door, that the Woodland still exists, along with its fun, flavor, and song.
"Went pre and post concert, they were understaffed and unprepared for the influx but for some reason continued to seat customers. We waited 45 minutes for our food before having to leave hungry for the show. They bought our drinks which was a nice gesture and asked us to return after the show. We came back only to have our server bring out 2 or our 3 drink orders wrong. I ordered 3 things before finding something they weren't out of. The food was delicious but didn't come out all together and we were left waiting a while for everyone to have their food. The manager was defensive when I told him the situation and we had to ask for our check multiple times before it being brought out. Again, food was fantastic, service was not."

"Bit of a muck-up. Got a good recommendation from a friend and took a group there for dinner. We ordered some appetizers. My friends wine was corked, we tried another wine and that too was bad. The wait-staff could not figure out what to bring us--ie they never took it away. My friends steak was boiled, tasteless, and the waiter did take it off the bill. Overall a sad disappointment."

"The food here was delicious, when we finally got it. The night we were there our table and other tables around us waited over an hour before getting any food. It was 20 minutes before drinks we ordered were delivered and they arrived one at a time. Two drinks were unavailable, including iced tea, so they waited 30 minutes for their drinks. The waitress was very nice and noted she was working a double, but between her being run ragged and some apparent issues in the kitchen, it detracted from the experience. Dinner, when finally served, also arrived piecemeal. The food was hot and good, but overall it was a poor dining experience."

"Visitng Brooklyn with wide and adult son, when we met at woodlands for a Mothers' Day brunch. Perfectly pleasant but not exceptional. There was nothing to distract us from enjoying one another's company...which is far more than can be said of many other places."

"Enjoyed our brunch there-they have a delicious menu and some unique dishes. Brunch also comes with complimentary mimosas or bloody mary's which is nice. We were shocked when we got the bill though-they had charged us for each coffee refill! I had come here with my parents and they were so upset. The waitress had asked us if we'd like more coffee when our current ones were getting cold, but she never said we'd be charged. Definitely frustrated after that."

"I loved the look and menu from the website. I should have prepared myself when we arrived and told them we had a reservation for two at 6pm. We were met with a blank look then told they had not received reservations yet, but could seat us. I only hoped they had a complete system melt down that day because if the chaos that evening was the norm , then words fail me. I actually think the waiter was a nice guy, but just overwhelmed. We were lucky, we got a glass of wine and a cocktail twenty minutes after ordering them and our food forty five minutes after that. The table next to us waited 45 minutes for a beer, God knows when their food was coming. When the food did come, it was overcooked. Music is too loud, with heavy bass."

"I picked this for a group of 6 dare I say, middle aged, guys wanting to celebrate a birthday dinner and see a Nets game. Everyone was very pleased with my choice. Woodlands has a comfortable, nice contemporary pub sort of a feel, is very clean, and sits on a corner with beautiful front and side walls of windows.
Our waitress was very helpful and friendly, and our food was terrific, ranging from salads, onion soup, lamb chops, burgers and a steakhouse quality ribeye . We were served ample bread, and had great sides of roasted veggies, all downed with ample pints of good draft beer.
Pricing wise this is not a burger joint but is very reasonable given the quality of the meal and atmosphere."

"Terrible service. One member of our party never received her entrée despite repeated reminders. Service staff did not return for additional drink orders but had to be literally chased down."

"Service couldn't have been better. Charming waiter, Alex, and also charming hostess. Because my friend could not eat her rabbit dish as it was too salty, we both received free deserts.
The snacks prior to the meal to accompany our reduced priced wines was unbelievably imaginative and delicious."

"Food was great, service was terrible. Drinks were mixed up (including giving alcohol to someone who requested not) and everything took far too long. The good makes it worth it, but it won't be at the top of our list in the neighborhood."

"Would of been better had not all of our dishes tasted like a salt lick. We could see layers of salt crystals covering our food. We couldnt finish our entrees although they looked appetizing. Management was very nice and discounted our bill and gave us a free round of drinks. If they fix the obscene amount of salt added to the dishes would recommend."

"Ditzy un-professional server is below par for an expensive restaurant. Forgot our side orders, took our drinks away before they were finished. Not familiar with the menu."

"Pleasantly surprised by Woodland! Lots of little delicious touches like the smoky tomato ketchup and the homemade olives and liver pate. The only thing that I found less than impressive was the burger, it just wasn't anything to write about. I highly suggest Woodland for a standalone date or a meal before or after an event at Barclays Center."

"is a pretty place and the food is definatley different..Almost Western..I felt like I might fit it with cowboy boots and a hat. It's somewhat limited menu, but enough for all diets... It's petty pricey for the experience, but overall I would recommend. I doubt I'd go back. Maybe for small plates and a glass of wine.
They didn't have decaf coffee which was quite upsetting to my guests."

"Great restaurant, we were looking for a steakhouse that was open late (past 10pm). The service was good, food was good, and the ambiance really tied everything together. Would definitely go back!"

"This establishment thinks it is cool, but it is not. Any place that has "foraged mushrooms" on its menu is a faux joke. Also, the dinner entrees were all over $20 except for the "special" which, surprise, was sold out when we ate at 6 p.m. Some plywood and exposed lights does not a Brooklyn foodie destination make."

"I get that there was a concert nearby that night but we waited 45 minutes to get our food order. The table next to us had the same issue. My food was fine but my boyfriend's was bland. The music downstairs was louder than it was at the concert at Barclay's later that evening. Not fun."

"This is a good spot to grab dinner before a Nets game. The restaurant has a fun energy/ambiance. The menu has ambitious ingredients that look good on paper but the kitchen relies on a simplistic "more butter, more salt, more oil" preparation style. Don't bring your food snob friends and you'll be fine."
