"I have to say I was so very impressed with this restaurant. Our dishes were all just absolutely delicious –the freshness, quality and presentation was one of the best I have experienced and because of my job I have dined at a many places throughout the world including Italy.
Service was professional with a smile, I had a conversation with the owner who is very charismatic and we talked about wines ; great wine list by the way .

"I have dined at Montalcino now several times , with family, friends and alone with my wife. I cannot begin to tell you how privilege I feel to have discovered this restaurant. Always a wonderful experience, the food is so fresh and tasteful just like in Italy. The servers are beautiful and knowledgeable, the owners are very charismatic and with a world of experience, Mama Michelina on one night sang opera to us beautifully. Can say enough wonderful things about this place, it is the buzz of the town I can see others enjoy the experience as much as we do."

"We are never disappointed when we have been to Montalcino's! It just keeps getting better and better. There are several wonderful choices, but I usually go with their special fish selection. It is quaint, the service/staff are wonderful, and there is a gentleman playing the guitar while you dine. He was amazing!"

"Hidden neighborhood gem in old downtown Issaquah. Excellent food, with generous portions. Small dining room atmosphere, with space for only 25-30 diners at one time. No bar or lounge, no hard liquor. Reservations a must, and still we were kept waiting for twenty mins. in the tiny alcove by the front door. They gave us a short flute of Perseco to help the time go by. Most evenings there is a gentleman playing guitar, a mix of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, mostly."

"This place cooks like no other in the state. Amazing food, what I have been a custom to when I lived in Europe and the East Coast of the US. I’m so glad I found this place; you can taste the flavors of freshness and quality. I’m also into wine and I love the wine list simple yet complete including their family wine from Montalcino in Italy , a Brunello at 90 dollars is a great price if you know your wines. BTW the beautiful servers are also knowledgeable and efficient."

"I've tried the "Family wine" that the waiters push on 2 visits. First time I went for the high end wine since it was a special occasion. It was excellent, but I'd expect that for $90 a bottle, and didn't expect that high of a price that the waiters don't bring up.
They offer several different "Family wines", so next time in I went for what was described as a table wine. It was nice, but nothing to write home about. . I was shocked though, at the $70 dollar price, which once again the waiter doesn't bring up. It was GROSSLY over priced."

"The food here is top quality. You could defiantly see and taste the freshness of high quality ingredients. "Montalcino's is definately the best Italian restaurant in Issaquah and may be the best restaurant overall. There is a wide-ranging menu with something for everyone. The wine list is great with some very affordable offerings.
I had the veal and a caprese salad. Both were fantastic.
It's hard to get a reservation on the weekends because it's so small, but it is worth the effort. we went on a weekday and every table was full. Topping off the experience was a singer with a guitar playing old Italian favorites. Absolutely wonderful evening!

"Montalcino has quickly become my and my husband's favorite restaurant in Issaquah. The only problem we have is that we didn't discover it sooner! It is a quaint little restaurant where you feel like family from the moment you walk in the door to the moment that you are leaving. The staff is so attentive to their patrons and treat each one as though they are special. The food is absolutely out of this world. The last time I went, there were four of us and every person raved about their dish that night and for several night afterwards. I would highly recommend their homemade gnocchi, lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs for entrees and their starter bruschetta is the best I've ever had anywhere."

"Wow! Start to finish. Staff, food, ambiance... everything! We were promptly seated at the time of our reservation and the wait staff immediately began to serve us. The owner stopped by and welcomed us as well. This is a true family operation! Tony provided the beautiful table side music and mama made the most amazing food in the kitchen. We totally enjoyed the evening and rate it in our Top 5 ever!"

"Another great meal , this restaurant is what a great restaurant is all about, constantly impressive. Every time we dine here it never disappoints, in fact it there is always something new that is amazing. Our table had Sea Bass, Veal Shank, Homemade Pasta, Tortellini, Lobster Ravioli, Chicken and everyone commented to each other it was the best they ever had even the side organic vegetables were great. Together with top service and atmosphere this place is six stars."

"Montalcino Ristorante is simply wonderful!! The ambiance is old world Italian; small, intimate, friendly. The dinner selections are interesting, authentic, and delicious. Everything is fresh! Each presentation is beautiful! The service is excellent; the wait staff personal are professional & helpful. One of the owners greets you at the door! You feel like you matter~not like you are just a customer. This is our favorite dining spot in Washington!"

"I got the Gnocchi in meat sauce and I can't remember what my husband got but both were outstanding! We started with the Bruschetta and the tomatoes were so flavorful it was mid blowing (especially since it is March). The only thing the Bruschetta needed was a touch more Olive Oil and Balsamic. We declined dessert and paid our bill but I still had wine to finish so while we sat and chatted out of no where they gave us a Tiramisu which was to die for! Fluffy, silky smooth cream, just the perfect amount of espresso and almost unnoticeable Lady Fingers. If you haven't been to Montalcino yet I would go as soon as possible."

"Dinner was well timed and delicious. We ordered the anti-pasta platter and the lobster cakes to start, which all were amazing, very fresh and perfectly cooked. For dinner, I had the gnocchi, which was delicious. It came in a meat sauce and the dumplings were perfectly moist and cooked. My man orderd the lobster ravioli, which I ate most of. The sauce was decadent and rich and you receive a large lobster tail right on top.
It's a small restaurant,so there is not a lot of privacy, but they had a musician, so for those who are uncomfortable in initimate spaces, the music gave a nice vail of privacy."

"My boyfriend and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary here. It was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I am a foodie who happens to be with a very picky guy who would be happy eating chicken nuggets or any other meal a 6 year old would enjoy (ugh!) and he loved it, too!
The food was cooked to perfection. The sea bass over risotto was to die for.
Upon being seated, they had 2 glasses of complimentary champagne at our table for our celebration. When the waitess noticed me struggling to read the menu she immediately brought over 2 tiny lights so that I could read the menu and it would not disturb the patrons around me.
Service was as excellent as the food!"

"This restaurant is simply the best restaurant I ever had the pleasure of dining. Consistently great five star dishes and I have tried many including their daily specials. I’m in the food business and was recommended to me for the first time by a big player in the food industry and he was 100% correct, We have been back several times. The owner Fernando certainly knows food, wine and how to treat people and likes people to respect the restaurant, he can get a little crazy (so don’t be late for your reservation) which just adds to the great experience. His parents are also great characters along with a Italian singer they have who is quite good."

"Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. After a terrible V-day experience at an Italian restuarant elsewhere this made up for it tenfold! Welcoming and friendly staff. They all work together to take care of you, whether it is filling water, getting another glass of wine, or clearing plates. The Owner came around frequently to ask how everything was tasting as did our waitress. The live entertainment was so special and really made the experience all the more wonderful. The food was divine and did not disappoint. When my Italian father visits this summer I will be bringing him to Montalcino. This will be our go to restaurant for Italian dining."

"Heard about this place from several people, a lot of buzz around this restaurant. Well deserved , what a wonderful dinning experienced we had. When we walked in I felt truly like being in Italy especially when I heard the owner speaking in Italian to his server ( very beautiful server), the atmosphere was amazing. My husband ordered the sea bass which was ridiculously good and he knows his seafood, I had a gnocchi wild boar special which had unbelievable flavor excellent. There was also a gentlemen singing who came to our table who I was septic about but what a great voice, he sang ave Maria. At the end of our great meal we were given a digestive wine which just perfected our night. Well Done"

"This place deserves five stars all around.The lovely staff are trained well-polite and attentive, the food was delicious and the decor is nice. We ordered two pasta dishes which were both full of flavor and very very enjoyable. For main courses, we had the steak and a chicken dish both cooked to perfection.The owner came around to our table and must say was very charming."

"This was our first visit to Montalcino Ristorante. We found it to be a small restaurant but we did not feel cramped. Due to the smallness there is a bit of over-talk between tables making the noise level a bit higher than we prefer but not enough to keep us from returning. Our service was efficient and a little more personality in the staff would have made this a more memorable experience. The appetizer combo was good but not great but the Fruti d Mare and the gnocchi with rabbit and boar ragu were absolutely outstanding. Would definitely go back to try more entree dishes."
